I thought that the US was like Canada. Any switching of provinces here requires a 14 day quarantine.

I agree but unlike FL. The Governor in NY has no problem enforcing this. the Port auth. controls the Major Airports and they will ensure people follow the Quarantine
Also the NY governor is taking the whole pandemic seriously, unlike Florida.

NY, NJ and CT governors just instated a 14 day quarantine for visitors from states with high infection rates.
Just wondering how this will effect Royal? How will this be enforced at the port? I have a cruise on Anthem in February, and although I live in Canada, i was wondering how this would work (assuming the US/Canadian border opens by then). -

Yes, they can absolutely handle other travel.
If they can handle Beci, they can handle anything.

Just this morning the WHO declared that nobody should wear a mask unless they are caring for an infected person or are an individual exhibiting symptoms. Which is in direct conflict with recently shifted CDC opinion. Which is right? Which is wrong?
I agree: trust science. But what if you cant trust the scientist? Real scientists that is, not made for television self proclaimed experts who make the rounds and tell a different story depending on which network is paying them.
Haven't seen this from the WHO. Care to put a link please?
As for scientists and who to believe, anyone mentioning CDC and WHO should be trusted. Dr Oz or anyone who's appeared on his show should not. -
Science changes based on the evidence provided. When new evidence appears, science is open enough to re-evaluate their current ideas.
Not accepting science that doesn't fit into your agenda or macho freedom images goes against not only the safety of yourself but society as a whole.
Listen to science. It's the only way we will get back to some version of the old normal. -

That is why early dinner is nice....Eat a multi-course dinner in the MDR and then hit up the buffet around 8:30PM acting like a Hobbit asking for second dinner.....
I had ultimate dining plan, so it was usually dinner around 6 and playmakers around 10

just go to the atlantis web sight. It is cheaper and you will have a better time. The place is expensive enough. Bottle of water 10.00 last December, we were fore warned took a couple of bottles with us. Aquariumn is really very cool. You will have a ton of time on your own, you can grab a cab when you are done.
Sorry, I only see room bookings on the official web site. There is a "MAKE A DAY BOOKING" link on the aquaventure page, but it does not go anywhere. Maybe because it is currently closed.
Resort for a day has the water park at $156 for my cruise, and the Royal version is $148.99. -

Depending on what you want to do I find it nearly impossible to believe the Royal excursion is cheaper.
The pre purchased tickets for Atlantis are always cheaper than cruise line excursion, in my experience.Any links or suggestions as to where to get these passes?

Do yourself a HUGE favor and book Atlantis independently. You will save some money and have a MUCH better experience. Atlantis is close and easy to navigate to and from the ship. In my opinion there is nothing worse than wasting my time waiting for a bus to fill up so I can be taken 5 miles across town, when I could have grabbed a cab and been there already.
I did that last time, booking the nearby hotel for me and my kids.
This time I'm going solo, so the Royal Excursion is cheaper. -

Reading on the excursions for Nassau. It states the time for Atlantis is 5 hours, but we're in port from 8AM to 10 PM.
Is the 5 hour time just an estimate? Can you stay longer? I know a taxi isn't that much back to the ship, but just wondering how exactly it works. -

Here's the best analogy I've heard.
You're at a nudist camp and need to pee. If you're 6 feet apart, you won't pee on anyone and no one will pee on you.
If someone has on pants, even if you're less than 6 feet apart, less pee will get on them, and if they pee, less pee will get on you.
If you both have on pants, no on gets much pee on them. -
being a solo cruiser, the main enjoyment I have (other than the ultimate dining plan) is interacting with others. Until social distancing isn't needed, I'm postponing travel.

Sharla is amazing. She got us a replacement cruise for us when Royal cancelled ours when it was chartered 6 months out.

We are booked on 6th Feb sailing (following the cancellation of our Oasis sailing, same itinerary and embarkation port, in what would have been 26 days from now ).
Same sailing.

Just my opinion, but if I wasn't willing to go near NYC next February I wouldn't ever leave the house again. I personally cannot bear to think that this wont be resolved to a large extant by next February, I need a vacation sometime this year:)
I'm more worried about it disappearing in the summer and re-appearing when it gets colder again. That's how most viruses work.

I have Anthem booked for next February. Just worried about going near NYC, even if it is just for getting on/off the cruise.
Opinions? -
Not your usual "they cancelled my cruise" post...?
