Yeah, that was not really the response from Royal I was hoping for either.  And who knows how long it will take for the CDC to provide guidance.

Me neither. I was hoping for a change, not a statement saying they will let us know when a change could, maybe, sort of happen.

As far as the CDC providing guidance, they may come by Christmas. lol

Doesn't hurt to ask at Guest Services! Currently one of our group on Mariner asked when he boarded and got moved. Another family asked because their kids weren't comfy on the couch and they were able to get a second room. Not sure how much $ either were, but you'll never know if you don't ask.

Thank you for the information, I appreciate it!

Some bookings don't qualify for RoyalUp. Travel Agencies can opt-out. I think Costco does, for example.

Available inventory doesn't have anything to do with it. They can still make money on last minute cancellations by taking bids for room categories that are fully booked.

Does Royal allow you to move up a category, if it is available, when you first board by checking with guest services? Or is Royal Up the only way?

One of my big hopes for RCL is that this cruise is a success and that it continues into future years. That way, if I win the lottery, I'll be able to go someday.

That is what I am hoping too. Not much luck on the lottery side though. And yes, it is a great deal!

It’s not bad if I was driving to the port. But link in air+hotel, I find it stressful having to cancel all that at the last minute. 😕

I should clarify that it’s not the testing itself that I find stressful, it is the possibility of testing positive two days before.

I completely agree with the possibility of testing positive that close to departure...makes me want to pull my hair out and I really don't have it to spare.

I am envisioning a scene from an old Western movie where the cruise lines are standing around the O.K. Corral waiting to see who fires first.

They are nervously watching each other, waiting for a flinch.

Once one cruise lines drops testing or vaccine requirements the others will quickly follow.  Who will flinch first?

I say that Carnival will flinch first

Jamaica has the most aggressive street vendors IMO.  The vendors on Labadee are aggressive as well but they're easy to avoid.  St. Thomas and St. Kitts aren't a problem...or never have been, for me.

Not just the street vendors.....we did Dunns River Falls on one of our cruises and we forgot our tip money on the bus. The guide followed us onto the bus and when we gave him the tip, he stood there wanting more.

As far as street vendors go...we never make eye contact. You do that you are in some serious trouble.
