I grew up in Mineola and Oceanside. Last November was my 1st time back to LI in 20 years (uncles 80th Bday party). Almost all of the family moved and never had a reason to go back. I really don't miss it. What I do miss is how close the beaches were. Now I have to drive an hour to get to the northern part of the Jersey shore. I am also thinking about moving down south to Florida probably in the next 2-3 years.
We love the beaches, East End (Hamptons, Montauk, wineries), restaurants, and proximity to NYC, but after a lifetime here we're going to be ready for a change when we retire down the road!

A little about me: I am 61 but still think I’m in my 40’s (don’t know where those 20 years went). Grew up on Long Island, moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia 30 years ago. Still can’t get rid of my NY accent and I will always drive like I’m from LI.
Have an amazing time!
My wife and I have lived on Long Island our whole lives (wife grew up in Farmingdale and I'm from Smithtown), but do not see us retiring here. We toy with the idea of moving down south... maybe Florida! Need to be closer to those ports and amusement parks!

Us too! Would also love for Royal to add Bermuda back to the Anthem, Odyssey, etc., itineraries. We've sailed Explorer and Liberty to Bermuda... time for a newer ship! I remember Anthem used to periodically sail to Bermuda.
Getting tired of the Port Canaveral/Nassau/Coco Cay itineraries on the larger ships out of Bayonne (I know they're limited for 7-night sailings). Also, Tortola and St. Kitts & Nevis sound amazing!

I am at the airport, tsa precheck was less than a min. My mother and brother don't have precheck and it was about 15min for security. Our plane has been at the gate since we got here. At 5am most of the bars opened, I know it 5 o'clock somewhere.
Since we are sailing out of PC, it seems like this flight has lots of Disney children. They are too excited
Safe travels!

120 days to go!
Balance just paid off! All CP items purchased and excursions booked (except our Costa Maya excursion... waiting for it to go back on sale again!).
This will be our first time sailing out of Miami since our very first Royal cruise (Majesty) back in 2010!
Just updated my iPhone lock screen... love to do this leading up to the next cruise!

While we were offered the suites guest tour we opted for the all access. It was worth it! Here are a few pics!
Long pants and closed toe shoes were required for all access though, just be aware. This was on the Wonder.
We did the same on Wonder on our Halloween cruise. Amazing tour worth splurging for at least once!
Hi @Momof4crazytocruise, as @WAAAYTOOO mentioned, you can't access the engine room, but you do get a tour of the engine control room.
Just a few pics from that tour!
Capt. Rob (far right) returned to the bridge during our tour!

I still find it frustrating. Yes, you can find it there (and thank you @smokeybandit & @JohnK6404 for mentioning it) - but if it is there on the website, it should be easy to also make it available to see in the planner.
I agree with you 100%! I don't understand why the calendar in the Cruise Planner can pull all your CP purchases, but for some reason, can't post the times in port.

Yes, as long as you can advance to that last page and select the boarding window, you should be good! You can open the online "Set Sail" pass and it should reflect your selected boarding window.
I usually check in all others in our traveling party (since it's past their bedtimes ) to ensure we can all board together. You can "fudge" some of the info to get through the screens since they can go back in later to update and correct the info (passport info, security photos, emergency contact, credit card info, etc.) up to a few days before sail date.
One example of "fudging", I usually select naturalization papers/documents for the form of ID since I do not have their passport info.

Hi @Magoody!
As @smokeybandit mentioned, you can just search for your sailing on the RC website... find and select your sailing...
... select the date and the first screen that loads will have the itinerary and times in port...

We are cruising out of Miami for the first time and need suggestions on hotels. We will be flying in 2 days before our cruise to check out the area as well. Where would you recommend staying for ease of travel?
I would start with this blog article by Jenna!
Best Miami hotels near the cruise port | Royal Caribbean Blog
We're sailing out of Miami in May (first time since 2010)... It will be just my wife and I, so we splurged a little and booked the InterContinental Miami (booked a Bay view room so we can see the port ).

... very short update posted by Chris today...

Just as @Lovetocruise2002 mentioned, it may not be too late! Coverage often effective the day after you purchase the plan (as per link). As mentioned, you may have fewer coverage options (existing medical condition exclusion, etc.).
We also use Allianz... here is an FAQ on this topic:

Chris (@CHRIS WONG) just posted an update today with some info on this visit to PDCC.
He mentions that Royal is having a party for the crew and they will also be able to explore Hideaway Beach!

And, what was the culprit that caused the weigh gain? Food or drinks?
I suspect a little of both as we had the DBP on that sailing!
I also think the dessert after every meal also contributed!

What’s the most you gained on a cruise?
I think it was 8 lbs...

Our Royal bucket list is way too long, but includes: a World Cruise, Alaska, Norwegian Fjords, UK cruise, Greek Isles, Western Med (booked for 2025!), Japan, Australia/New Zealand, Hawaii... an inaugural sailing, a President's cruise, B2B and S2S sailings, RC blog group cruise!
That's just a start... we need to win lotto so we can retire and start! LOL!

Oooo, yes! Saw this today! My wife also wants to find Rover! We can't tell Bella and Jake or they'll want to know why they can't come with us to meet their cousin!
You opened the door with the Golden puppy pic! LOL!
Our Bella and Jake "recovering" on New Year's Day at our friend's house! Jake cuddling with our friend, Jenn (sleeping under the blanket)!

I will be on Utopia in July. I will be looking at the reviews of the restaurants. I hope Mason Jar is on your list.
Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe Mason Jar is on Icon...
(edit) Oh! Wait! Did you think this live blog was for the Utopia inaugural?
I was surprised that they have no replacements on Icon for Mason Jar, 150 Central Park, Wonderland, etc. They added Empire Supper Club and Celebration Table (kept Chef's Table), but no other traditional specialty restaurants. I think they just added a bunch of grab and go spots.
Here is the list of specialty restaurants for our May 11th sailing this year in the Cruise Planner (same old options):

Have an awesome time! Will be following all of you as we sail in May! Can't wait!
