I would also caution not to overwhelm her.  I’m like you, when I do something for someone, I want to really DO something.  But I have been known to go too far in my desire to make them happy.  Sometimes less is more.  JMHO

Apparently the US government cannot figure out how to safely open the border to a populous with much higher vaccination rates than their own with the announcement of border closure extension this morning. I will now have to fly from Vancouver to Seattle instead of doing the 2 hour drive.
 
Ironically I was at a football game here in Vancouver last night and there were several Americans in the seats in front of us. I spoke with them and they had driven across the border to attend the game (they were family and friends of one of the players) and were driving back across after the game. So it’s fine for Americans to come and mingle with Canadians and go back to the US, but vaccinated Canadians travelling to the US poses a threat?

There was definitely a real, printed Indian menu in the MDR when we were in the Mediterranean (summer of 2019).  It was at our table and wasn’t the big bulky menu you usually see in the MDR. When we asked our waiter about it he said it was usually only given out to the passengers who are Indian, but available to anyone who was interested. I told him to keep bringing it to our table every night since I love Indian food. 
 
There was also a native Italian menu that had dishes like Cacio e Pepe in addition to the MDR Italian staples. 
 
I wasn’t sure if these were a function of sailing from Italy, but would love to know if others have seen these for US based sailings.

Ok, they just confirmed that they will only evacuate if you are admitted to a hospital, but the evacuation does not have to be a medical necessity.  In other words, if you can convince them to admit you to a hospital,  they will evacuate you.   Since I've had a heart attack, I'm going to trust that I can convince them to admit me even if I'm not symptomatic and keep both policies.

I'm back @JLMoran --- crazy thing, I use Firefox here at work, and, up until today, I wasn't able to log into the message boards like normal.  Who knows what was going on, but......I'm back.
In regards to Tobacco Bay .... the tide differential is insane.  There are a couple of normal size park benches that completely become submerged during high tide, then show themselves as the tide drops.  I'd say there's a 3' - 4' difference between high & low tide.  Crazy.

Well tonight I am feeling like giving up on cruising with my family for a couple years more. That hurts to say because we love it so much! I think I should cancel my November 21st cruise because I'm flying across the country from washington state and there are too many risks that we won't be able to sail. $2500 for airfare alone, hotel accomodations ect... What if my 5 or 10 year old gets covid? what if they change to not allow anyone unvaxxed? Variants.. Last minute restrictions .... Why stress myself out trying to go on vacation..... not worth it...  ??
Feeling defeated tonight

My mom and dad met when was Cape Liberty was still a base.  My mom worked there and dad was stationed. 1970/1971. My grandmother retired from the base in the early 1990's. End of Sept will be the first time my mom and I will take a cruise from the port.

Awesome! Yesterday morning our GTY interior stateroom was assigned (only 3 days out from sailing), In what I would consider a “not ideal” location— right next to the card room directly under the arcade ?.... seriously!?!?!? Fast forward 2 hours when our royal up bid was accepted for $20– one happy camper here! 

What if you have had covids ? You dont need to have the shots. Most doctors tell you not to get them.
 

We sailed out of Nassau on 8/7 and we also minimum bid for a Jr Suite for grins. Two days before we left we received the email that we won the bid. Larger room and a lot more storage space although we packed very lightly for the flight and did not use half the space. Was a great preview for our October cruise where we actually have a Jr Suite booked. Now I'll have to contend with trying to upgrade on all our future cruises.

It would appear there are just 5 of 69 sailings departing before November 1 and not back in port before September 3 from Florida ports that don't visit a port in The Bahamas between September 3 and November 1.

It was $444 for a year for me.  But I just called them and was told they also would not transfer you unless you are hospitalized.  So I might have wasted my money.  They are having someone call me back tomorrow.  I'll let you know what they say.  I saw this: Hospital to Hospital Medical Transfer for member regardless of Medical Necessity, COVID-19 Info HERE" and made an assumption, it appears I could be wrong, so I do not know if it is providing anything more than my BlueGeo, which also includes medical insurance.  MedJet is only transportation and security services.
