I was wondering if I am able to change to a different room category or type on the same ship and sail date if I initially booked a guarantee room?

Yes.  As long as you have not passed final payment date, do not cancel completely, do not change your ship or sail date, you can change your booking.  You can actually go in the other direction, too.  If you have a fully refundable booking and you find that you are 100% certain that you are going to stick with this cruise, you can switch a refundable booking to a non-refundable booking.  If the price has not changed, you will probably save a little money.  If the price of the cruise has gone up chances are you would not save any money by going to a non-refundable option so you would probably be better off just keeping what you started with.

  2. I've seen both Chicago and Cats on board Royal Caribbean ships and they were both - one and done.  I think this is one of the few down sides to Royal Caribbean's "Broadway production" strategy.  While it makes for really GREAT first impressions, they hang on WAAAY too long and people just get tired of having the same show offering over and over again.  I completely understand WHY they have to keep the shows on for so long but it doesn't change the fact that frequent cruisers tire of these same shows.

...and PLEASE !  NO MORE HAIRSPRAY !  I absolutely despise that show (right along with Mama Mia !).  Why they insisted on putting it on a second ships is BEYOND ridiculous.

I enjoyed Grease although I think it's about run it's course now that it is on 2 ships and I really REALLY like We Will Rock You, which wasn't even a real Broadway production !

That is definitely not something you or anyone should experience on a cruise. I would have been more than a bit miffed if the person whose job is to help me out with things involving my cabin actually snapped at me if I was having some trouble with part of my cabin. Everyone gets bad days and no one is immune to wanting to be anywhere but work sometimes, but that would have crossed a line for me. I sincerely hope that you reported that to Guest Services, as it sounds like an employee who needs some retraining in hospitality.

That cabin attendant will not last long.  If Mljstr writes a bad review (which he/she should) then it will carry a lot of weight. If the cabin attendant was non-responsivek (or negatively responsive, which is even worse !) to Mljstr, then you know he/she has been non-responsive or worse to others before.  His/her ship life with RCCL will be short.

Th Is that enough to limp over to Europe?

Problem four:  Even if they get Oasis to a point where they could limp to  Europe, will they be able to find a dry dock available ?  Those big mamas are few and far between and adhere to a very tight schedule.  Throwing a wild card in there, like an unexpected Oasis class ship, would likely be a difficult schedule squeeze.

  5. To be fair, very few travel agents will sift through prices to see if there has been a price change on your cruise.  That job is going to be on you - every time.  The agent will be made aware of periodic pricing offers that come from the cruise line and they MAY check to see if those offers affect your booking but they simply do not have time to go through each and every one of their bookings on a regular basis to check for price variability no matter how good or committed they are.

Which makes it very curious that of the five adults sailing together in June, the only one WITHOUT "Choice" on the Set Sail Pass is the individual who spends the most in the casino.

Is there any casino status at all for this person ?  Does it say "Prime" anywhere ?

If this person has sailed and gambled on a Royal Caribbean ship in the past year, they should be a member of Club Royale.  If all of this has occurred and there is no casino status notation of any kind, that person needs to call Club Royale and ask why they aren't already enrolled.  They should be.  Call 888-561-2234.

I have been a Club Royale members since the program began and every so often they forget about me and I have to call and remind them so it does happen.

  7. I have never had a noise problem with adjoining rooms.  My problem with adjoining rooms is that there is that you must sometimes sacrifice the full couch for a smaller love seat b/c the door to the adjoining cabin takes up wall space normally consumed by the bigger, full couch.  That is not ALWAYS the case but sometimes it is and I have even been in adjoining rooms where there was no couch at all....just a chair.

The benefit of being a shareholder is the gain on your investment when the stock price increases in value.  The company performing well and turning a profit is how they answer to shareholders.

Unfortunately, the stock has been moving in the wrong direction lately and I hate to think about what this O debacle is going to do !  YIKES !

  9. I know that they have had the O class ships in dry dock in the Bahamas before but it's true that these ships will not fit into the dry docks in the Bahamas.  I recall that they actually have to lift one end of the ship in order to get to the areas that have to be repaired (which is apparently the point at which the crane failed, this time).  It was definitely a make-shift maneuver that was borne out of the fact that the O class ships cannot be repaired just anywhere.

I just hope everyone is ok.
