Also a tip would be to drop your traveling companions and luggage off at the terminal the day of departure and then return the vehicle to the rental counter.  There will be a line for the shuttle back to the port but with 1 person and no luggage I have always been able to take the first one back, usually in the front passenger seat.

    +1 for this suggestion.

    - I would recommend in the future that you choose and book through a reputable travel agent, because they take care of everything, including the hassle of calling Royal Caribbean in the event you want anything changed. Also, using a travel agent doesn't cost anything since they are paid by the cruise line.

-- If you want to use a travel agent, you still may be able to, generally bookings have a time period 30-60 days after they are made, where you can transfer the booking from Royal Caribbean to a travel agent.

This is 100% the best advice you could get.  You need to speak with a TA immediately and get your reservation transferred to them, let an expert handle the legwork.  If you don't know a reputable TA, there are dozens of experienced cruisers on this board who swear by MEI.  I've not used them personally (yet), but many people I trust have.

You people are unreal. Who made you the lord over the chairs! yes we get our chair prior to breakfast and we like to eat together so we go...Sometime eating breakfast in Chops take 45 minutes or so at least 30... We return and we are in, out, around until lunch which we generally return to our chairs to eat...but we have been known to go to specialty resesturent for lunch and again it takes awhile...  Bath room breaks we sometime go to the room which can take 15 to 20 minutes or longer depending on the crowds at the elevators or they are cleaning the room..  Again you guys are unreal......

You should keep watching for a lower price.  Those go for $499 to $599 on all 7 of the 8 of the cruises I currently have booked.  If you see it lower, cancel and repurchase.  Maybe a good deal for it will be on Black Friday, if not before.

This is good advice, but I would add the caveat that I suggest you do this via phone versus entirely online, especially when dealing with something that has such limited availability.  I have heard stories of people cancelling and then having the item sell out in that small window before they can rebook, especially on a busy day such as Black Friday.  While dealing with an agent on the phone will certainly take longer, it will eliminate the possibility of losing the cabana entirely.

I'm both a Brit and an American, lived here now for 20 years and if memory serves me right a "Sale" in the UK had strict laws about it when it comes to advertising and pricing etc. Here in the US it's caveat emptor and lies.

Came here to say just this (except the part for actually being a Brit!).  As I understand it, the EU and UK have very strict advertising laws, and you can actually face steep fines for manipulating prices to make an item appear to be on sale.  As much as we love RCI, it's no secret that they play fast and loose with their "base prices" to push a sale in the US market.  I'm not sure that's the reason, but it is certainly my hunch.

While you are up there I highly recommend also getting some from Modern Pastry. From what I remember when I lived there years ago, Modern was more of a local favorite vs tourists liking Mike's.

I agree with this 100%.  It's like going to Pat's or Geno's for a cheesesteak in Philly.  It'll make an interesting shot for your Instagram story, but in reality you're spending a LOT of extra time in a long line with a bunch of tourists for a product that on their best day is merely comparable to where the locals know to go.

And really, in a cannoli taste off, I think you are the real winner.

    And I agree with this 1000%.  ?

Wear whatever is comfortable and don’t worry about what others are doing or wearing. Nobody cares !  Enjoy yourself and be comfortable.

100% this.  Based on your description, you'll already be dressed more "formally" than many of your fellow passengers.  If anyone has an issue with what you choose to wear, that's their problem, not yours!  ? You're on vacation, do right by you!

When you show me proof that a cruse ship going slower if France is going to have any effect on the Environment I'll agree with you.

There's also other issues such as a ship's wake's effect on local sea life, shorelines, etc. that have nothing to do with fuel consumption that can have environmental effects close to shore.  There's no one magic equation that can result in an ocean-wide "most environmentally efficient" speed, but to say that a ship's speed (particularly a ship the size of a modern cruise ship or ULCC) has no environmental impact is wildly inaccurate.

Couple things: the airboats are really loud. Irresponsibly frick’n loud. They will give you earplugs and you will be glad to have them.

Bring sunscreen and sunglasses!!! You are off the ship but you are still in Florida. Zero shade, hot, and humid.

If it’s a RCL excursion, they will have several bus loads of folks with your same game plan. It will only get cancelled on account of lightning.

Is this a good way to do something unique, get you and your luggage to the airport, and eek your vacation a little further? Yes defiantly. Is this a celebration of Marjory Douglas and the Everglades ecosystem? No, between the obnoxious boats, alligator served for lunch, and various taxidermy gator parts sold in the gift shop; I came away the tour operator hated the ‘glades. I’m glad we did it just the same. JMO.

Would agree with everything said here.  ?

  10. I've actually done this excursion, and we had an absolute blast!  Fun ride through the wetlands, lost of gators spotted, then samples of gator tail back at the Sanctuary building (yes, eating alligator tail AT an alligator sanctuary struck us as odd, but it was tasty!).  Bags were unloaded and waiting for us when we arrived at the airport.  Couldn't have been easier.  While I would be sure to have a plan B as suggested by earlier posts due to potential lack of participation leading to a cancellation, I found this to be a far more preferable and stress free way to spend the day versus hanging out at FLL and its vicinity...
