I was looking for Del Rio quotes specifically.  Not because I think it will make a difference, but because of the "theatre" (not something I can go to these days).

Here are a few of my favourites from the article:
“This impasse has got to stop,” Del Rio said. “The cruise industry must participate in the great national reopening. Every other hospitality travel and tourism sector has been allowed to operate and we have not.” “We were disappointed,” Del Rio said. “We thought it was a step backward, quite frankly.”
Del Rio called the combination of safety protocols and the vaccine requirement “just an unbeatable airtight set of circumstances that will make cruising a very safe vacation alternative.”
“I’d like to hear an argument why we couldn’t sail,” Del Rio said in an interview. “If everyone on board is vaccinated and following the protocols, there is absolutely no need for the conditional sail order to exist as it is known today.”
This is what a "Cruise CEO Super Hero" sounds like.

I'm just happy to see the Navier-Stokes equation on a cruise forum.
Edit: and used appropriately, since as far as I know, there's still a millennium prize out there for anyone who can solve it (meaning as far as we know, it's unsolvable).

    Yes.
Several weeks ago as crew arrived on Odyssey they were quarantined land side, tested, cleared for the ship, vaccinated and isolated on board for a period before being let loose.  I'm sure they are using a vaccine recognized by Israel, likely AstraZeneca which is approved by the WHO but I don't know that's what they are using for sure.
Fast forward a month and I wouldn't be surprised if they have acquired enough WHO approved vaccines to cover a lot more crew than they need for a limited restart.  That's the thing, they only need a few thousand crew for a couple of restart ships.  By the time restart crew are cycling off their contracts it will be September or October and the vaccine will be given out like halloween candy by that point.

Spoke to the missus, her response was a very firm, "YES!" Well, as far as getting a hold on a cabin and seeing what the prices come out to.
We're really constrained on what dates we can sail. Basically a 2-week window between when our younger daughter leaves for Japan and comes back home, right in mid/late July. So it's probably gonna be expensive. But after such a long vacation drought I'm hoping we can just say, "YOLO!!!! YOLO!!!! A thousand times, YOLO!!!"
Email sent to our TA requesting a hold on a 2B / 4B balcony cabin. Yeah, that's probably gonna have a premium with balconies in such short supply, but I want that sea air and cobalt blue water up for view.

I think we all can safely assume none of want to cruise with a mask requirement but...
Royal has to prove to the CDC that the company is going overboard (pun intended) to protect health and safety.
The CDC went overboard in the CSO to throw cruise lines under the bus and insinuate that they don't care about health and safety.
Cruising a handful of ships somewhere else is good and all but the path to Royal once again making anything close to the kind of money from 2019 lies in getting the CDC to green light US cruises.
We won't know what the protocols will be on Adventure until Royal tells us but I'm assuming masks will be a requirement and Royal will absolutely enforce that on board.  They are walking on eggshells with the CDC and can't afford any social media posts that would sink a chance at restarting cruising in the US.
To that end someone being kicked off the ship for not following protocols is perhaps the best publicity that can demonstrate that Royal is a CDC team player and they are taking it seriously.

My husband and I both had the Moderna vaccines with absolutely no side effects, other than being less sore at the injection site than with a tetanus shot. I worked 12-hour shifts after mine (no choice, nobody else to cover).  I know you don't "know" me, but I'm somebody!  ?

Curt From Canada got a reaction from cruisellama in Always Included Experiences (Round 2)
Sometimes I think I am on Candid Camera (young people ... look this up).  Two images from the identical cruise.  Same price ... but missing "Pre-Paid Gratuities" option.  Now I am certain it is IT gremlins or someone pressing the wrong button:

Always Included "Discount" shows on both.  However, "Always Included" is not indicated on first.  Not a big deal ... I am sure my TA would fix.
Below is the "new" options screen.  Darn, I can not longer pay "pre-paid Gratuities" that I "paid' in my AI rate:

As before I get NRD and Pre-Paid Gratuities.  But pre-paying for something that is included in my AI price is really odd.

I just looked up my May 2022 Silhouette Cruise (where we got a great "pre-AI" price).  There were no options for AI "upgrades", AND a choice for pre-paying gratuities was required.  I choose to not pre-pay gratuities and this was the summary I got:

I will not go on a rant about how AI puts Celebrity out of reach for me (virtual non-drinker, "always" wanting to disconnect and someone who enjoys paying gratuities with on board credit ... OK that was a small rant).
My question is ... "What is a credit of $368 for ALWAYS INC NRD?"
    This is definitely new.

Curt From Canada reacted to Vancity Cruiser in Call It: First Cruise Sails.......????
There is no way the US CDC would follow that rational line of thinking ?

    Official statement would read....
Just because tens of thousands of people have successfully and safely cruised since last fall and through the “second wave” on multiple cruise lines does not mean it is safe to resume. If we allow this we at the CDC will no longer feel important and we cannot let this happen.
