Choosing a broadway show has its own set of challenges.  Chicago received a number of complaints because it was too risque for some family cruisers.  
Lately Royal has been investing in developing its own entertainment such as Flight and the Show Girls themed shows on many ships.  Flight is one of the most demanding shows for the backstage crew requiring a higher number of them compared to many other shows due to rigging and the number of aerial items.  
Royal entertainment and casting all the shows is a massive operation.  
If you ever get the chance, take in a backstage theater tour.  They are very informative.

My husband and I had the Key on Anthem last October for a 9-night sailing.  We were booked in a balcony cabin.  We wanted a junior suite, but the prices were ridiculous when we booked (around $3,000 more).  We always get 2-device Surf and Stream anyway, and we had a $100 OBC to use.  We paid $19.99 per person for the Key. 
My husband always bids on RoyalUp when he has the opportunity.  He started out with a mid-range bid for a junior suite, but decided to change it and put in the max bid.  About 10 days before the cruise, we got the upgrade to a junior suite for the max bid of $1,000.  Based on the price difference between the balcony cabin and the junior suite, we felt like we got a great deal.  We loved the cabin, and we ate dinner in Coastal Kitchen every night.  It was wonderful!  
We did not cancel the Key because of the upgrade, since it was to a junior suite. With the Key, we absolutely loved the embarkation day lunch in MDR with the Chops menu.  We also loved the disembarkation day breakfast.  We didn’t take advantage of any seating for shows or private hours for activities.  We were only able to take advantage of priority disembark at one port, and it was great.  We just got off the elevator, asked where to go for the Key, and they let us get in the line right at the exit.  We had excursions booked in all the other ports and had to meet in the theater and they escort you off.
I know getting the Key is a personal choice, and I can tell you for the Anthem cruise we absolutely loved it!  We didn’t even take advantage of all it had to offer either.

While there are some overlaps in the JS and Key benefits, there are some that are exclusive to each.  The JS does provide priority boarding and CK dinner, but the VOOM service, embarkation day lunch and priority show seating does not extend to JS. For VOOM, reserved show seating, CK lunches, Concierge services, etc you would need to RoyalUp to a Grand Suite or above.
 

@xchellz you can always just pay for Hibachi one night and get 2 for 1, pr 3 night package.  We did UDP but our ship did not have Hibachi. It was our first time on RCCL so we got the UDP to avoid loud restaurants.

In Barcelona a couple tried to take on 6 carry on size bags and they were told they had to check 4 of them.  They were allowed to take one carry on each, and their little day packs.  The couple were not to impressed, they had made it through security and figured they were good to go.  Security is their to check the bags and not count how many each person is carrying.

Empress and Majesty are hanging around for when Cuba opens up again.  Cuba can't take large ships, even Radiance class is too big.  
Here's why I don't see Royal going back to building small ships.  They have learned that there is more profit to be had with big ships.  One Captain, one Hotel Director can manage a slightly larger crew and 6,800 guests.  Two ships with two sets of crews paying two sets of docking fees, requiring twice as many 5 year dry docks accomodating a combined 6,800 guests simply isn't as cost efficient to operate.
Mega ships produce higher revenue per dollar of operating cost.  Besides, RCCL has other brands that are building mid-size ships.   

I nagged and NAGGED my husband because he  wanted to book The Key. He’s always been a bougie elitist... the quintessential champagne drinker on a beer budget ? We normally only get one internet package, so I wasn’t convinced of the added value...
Our upcoming sailing on Harmony is practically sold out... and while I was savvy by pre-booking our entertainment... With the ship being so full, there are so many factors with dinner (UDP and no reservations) and whatnot... I’m happy we have a little more wiggle room! I will post a blog of our trip and put details in there about whether it ended up being worth it to us! 
 

The dining menus usually are there for the specialty restaurants.  The activities and times are usually not listed until a couple weeks out and even then not all the activities are listed.
Even when I was on the ship the cruise compass was the only thing that listed every activity. The app even when refreshed throughout the day did not have all activities.

Motel One is a great German chain, and I just stayed at this hotel before boarding in Barcelona in Sept.  Great clean hotel near all the attractions, safe area lots of restaurants within walking distance.  There is a taxi lot on the corner of the hotel.  I believe it was 19 euros to the terminal.  From the airport to Motel One it was approximately 23 euros.  Great roof top bar for in the evenings, and the lobby bar is great as well.

We have to be in Boston in early November for work and I made the mistake of googling how far away from these bakeries we will be.  I didn't dare actually look at the websites as I am trying to stay on the straight and narrow path before our January cruise and this is NOT HELPING!!!!!

The UDP will not cover the upcharge items in the MDR.  If you eat in the MDR and want the filet or lobster, you will have to pay the upcharge.
The only down side to having the UDP on a smaller ship like Enchantment is that you will end up eating in the same specialty restaurant numerous times.  If you want true variety, I would recommend you stick with the MDR and just pay the upcharge if you want one of the upcharge items.  If you want a filet or lobster every single night then you should stick with the UDP.
If I understand your OP correctly, you have paid $590 for 5 UDP packages.  $590 will buy a lot of upcharge items from the MDR.  Personally, I think your best bet would be to cancel the UDP, go to the MDR and order the occasional filet or lobster if the mood strikes.  As a frequent user of the UDP I can attest that you do get tired of eating at the same few restaurants after a while....especially when you throw in lunches on embarkation and sea days.
