SpeedNoodles got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Restaurant temps
Sometimes I agree. Although I'm in Minnesota, and it was 39 degrees today (January is usually below zero here) and I was out in a very light sweatshirt and comfortable as can be ... but I don't like being chilly when I'm not active.

I've tried watching his videos but they're all doom and destruction, lol

SpeedNoodles reacted to tiny260 in Restaurant temps
My wife always wears short sleeves but takes a light sweater with her. This time of year it will be a little cooler in the evenings so she is planning some form of cover for all evening attire. During June she usually takes a cover/sweater but never needs it.

SpeedNoodles reacted to HeWhoWaits in Restaurant temps
I usually find the temp in the MDR and theater to be much too hot - which means my wife if very comfortable.
I usually find the temp in other indoor public areas quite comfortable - which means she is chilled.
Bottom line - it is likely that someone in your party will be comfortable and someone else will not.

SpeedNoodles reacted to Matt in Restaurant temps
It's difficult to answer this question because my wife would tell you it gets cold in the main dining room or theater, but I'd say it's quite temperate.

SpeedNoodles reacted to MotleyCruiser in Restaurant temps
I always feel sweaty from the extreme humidity while being on the ocean and welcome any AC that is working properly.
-
SpeedNoodles reacted to twangster in Restaurant temps
One difference would be the humidity level. Year round the Caribbean will have higher humidity compared to MN.
Beyond that 'scientific' response, everyone is different. I don't feel they blast the A/C but someone more prone to feeling cold might think they do. I can't recall ever sweating or feeling like I am wearing too many layers in the MDR so follow your gut. If you tend to feel it's colder than other people much of the time, you may also feel that way in the MDR or even in the theaters.

SpeedNoodles got a reaction from 4ensic in How would you take this?
If people are wigged out about the "lower class" getting a few pieces of coffee cake on Christmas Day, they really need to get their priorities straight. Merry Christmas to you!

SpeedNoodles reacted to bcarney in Tipping for Large families
Anyone who's cleaned up after my kids after lunch in the Windjammer deserves every penny of that tip, and then some (it takes quite a while to get into those hazmat suits).
Kids make a much bigger mess than adults do; frankly, the mandatory gratuity for them should be more than those for adults.

SpeedNoodles reacted to Matt in Tipping for Large families
Those "some" are plain wrong. Like it or not, gratuities are part of the cost of the cruise. You can argue the merits of this system, but until it changes you are obliged to pay gratuity for every guest, including kids. Period.

Lol! @JLMoran you owe me a drink! ?
Just the Caribbean ESPN channels and Sports 24 (no clue what that is. I’m Canadian, we just watch hockey ?).

Thanks!
Go ahead and get a beverage and put it on JL's tab...

SpeedNoodles reacted to JLMoran in coffee?
Yes, you can do that. But, for sanitation / health reasons they will require you to get the beverage in a standard cardboard cup from them, then pour it into your travel container.

I suggest Boston, on October 11, 2020. RCBlog GC ?

SpeedNoodles reacted to Hoski in Tipping for Large families
Sadly I know someone going on her first cruise and has already received advice from someone on how to remove the tips and she will. The person who told her has claimed to be on 20+ cruises and never tips. They just give a few people a couple of bucks at the end.
I have a larger family also and all the tips sting but if I cannot afford them, I can't afford the cruise.

SpeedNoodles reacted to Fuzzywuzzy in New formal clothes change for dining?
My "formal" is a pressed pair of khakis. A light blue, lightweight button down shirt. I bought some goofy nautical theme ties at a thrift shop and had them dry cleaned. I bought a pair of boat shoes 15 years ago that have never touched dry land, just boat decks. I am usually one of the better dressed except for those getting photos taken. My wife says I look like Thurston Howell III.

SpeedNoodles reacted to bhageerah in 2018 - A Cruise Year in Review
Most notable was the group cruise to Alaska, while it was the only cruse due to the wife and my school obligations it was by far the best one I have ever been on. The scenery like this was absolutely amazing! Well worth every cent and I want to go again as soon as possible!!!

SpeedNoodles reacted to KLA in Deals on Excursions that aren't selling well?
You can always decide on board if you want to book something or not. If not, there's quite a few bars, shops, and restaurants in the downtown Nassau area. Junkanoo Beach is also about a 10 minute walk away from the port.
Another option could be taking a cab over to Atlantis - though, it's quite pricey beyond the limited free lobby area.
-
SpeedNoodles reacted to twangster in Deals on Excursions that aren't selling well?
Recently on Serenade they left a small paper in my cabin offering 10% off excursions for the next port. First time I've seen that. I didn't try to use it so I have no idea if there was availability.
Happened 3 ports in a row.

Booking and going on a cruise by myself and not waiting on anyone else. This was a big moment and a turning point in my life...
