  1. We had a whopping 986 in OBC for our October cruise.  We have already paid for gratuities and purchased the dining package and now with that sale it went down so we cancelled and booked with the OBC.  We booked for our friends also so they will pay us back in cash.  We still have 300 and another 100 for RCL stock.  I like the casino options since I like to play a few games while on the cruise and I can cash out the rest.

  2. I sure hope that I will be able to continue cruising without getting the booster.  I had pretty bad side effects after my second shot and my brother developed a severe problem after his.   We seem to have a strong genetic response to this vaccine in my family so a booster is not recommended.  The data that the CDC is going on is coming out of Israel which has a high vaccination population.  Israel is finding that after about 8 months the vaccine is down to a 50% efficacy vs the 95% efficacy in the first few months.  This is also being played out in higher hospitalizations of vaccinated people that get covid. https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/israel-covid-vaccine-pfizer-effectiveness-infection-40-data-preventing-hospitalizations-88-1.10021477

Ok, very interesting!  Liberty arrived in dry dock in Cadiz on July 18. She was in dry dock for 23 days followed by 5 days along side in the port of Cadiz.  That's exactly 4 weeks in Cadiz. Plenty of time for some Amplification upgrades, hopefully!

Royal Caribbean still shows the Diamond lounge in the original place as well as the Connoisseur Club on deck 5.  I hope that if they did amp anything it was NOT these.  The rest I do not care about.

I am sailing from Galveston for the first time this fall (I hope).  Any tips, places to stay etc. would be appreciated.  Most importantly, which airport should I use.  Air to Sea recommends Bush, but Hobby seems more convenient (and more expensive).  I will not be renting a car, so will need to get from airport to hotel to port.

    Many thanks.

there is a forum that has lots of information about sailing from Galveston.

For those that had the price drop after final payment, how long did it take to see the onboard credit in your cruise planner?

I called on the 22nd of July and was told that the OBC would show up in 24 hours.  It did not show in cruise planner.  I finally called today (29 July) and was told that it would not show up in the cruise planner but would be added to my sea pass card when we board the ship.   I was also told that if we do not use all of the OBC that our credit card would be credited the unused amount.  So you may not see the OBC from after final payment fare drop in your cruise planner.

Are you able to just call and ask for a price adjustment?  Or is there something else you need to do to use the CWC program this close to sailing and after final payment?

I did a "ghost" cruise on line to check the price and when I saw the change I just called.  I booked the cruise on line so I was able to call them directly and request the OBC through the cruise with confidence program.  If you used a TA you will need to have them call.

  7. We have been on Voyager, Vision, Oasis, Radiance, and  Quantum classes as well as Majesty of the Seas (miss that ship).  We are booked for a Freedom class in October.  Of all of the ones we have sailed on I didn't like the Quantum class and probably will avoid it if I can find that particular itinerary on another class.  If not then I would gladly sail that class.

This is after Merryday deferred temporarily the Alaska and Texas motions to intervene.

Thank you for finding these.  I hope Texas will continue to try to be a part of the final solution.

    Nope.

Just a hairy dude walking around with a cup of coffee.

We met someone about 8 years ago who only packed a carryon for a 11 day cruise.  He and his wife always asked for robes the first day and that is all they would wear the rest of the cruise.  We did see him talking to someone just off of the cruise ship in one port with only a robe on.  WOW.  His name was Todd and we call him "The Todd" to this day.

    You’re correct ……. I miscounted the Trump judges lol …… I thought 11 total didn’t sound right

There are actually 21 judges - 12 appointed by R presidents and 9 appointed by D presidents

    1 - Ford

    1 - Reagan

    3 - G H W Bush

1 - G W Bush - William H Pryor is the chief justice and was on Trump's short list for SCOTUS

    6 - Trump

    1 - Carter

    3 - Clinton

    5 - Obama

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Court_of_Appeals_for_the_Eleventh_Circuit

The court has twelve seats for active judges, numbered in the order in which they were initially filled. Judges who assume senior status enter a kind of retirement in which they remain on the bench, while vacating their seats, thus allowing the president to appoint new judges to fill their seats.
