Scotsman Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 We are planning a family trip to Europe in June 2026. My brother and his wife are expecting a baby in January 2025, and we’re wondering if it’s possible to make the booking now without knowing the sex, date of birth, or name of the future child? It feels like an unusual situation, but given how far in advance we need to book, we wanted to understand our predicament. Thank you Quote
Scotsman Posted November 17, 2024 Author Report Posted November 17, 2024 After more searching, i found the response needed. Looks like a ravel agent will just put TBA Quote
micahd Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 Yes. I did exactly this a few years ago before my son was born. We used his due date and just changed it to the correct day after he was born. We didn’t need to change the name on the reservation but you can change a first name fairly easy. RCIfan1912 1 Quote
twangster Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 I've seen people use "Baby Surname" as the name and a made up birthdate. People do it all the time so it's not so unusual. Quote
AlmondFarmer Posted November 18, 2024 Report Posted November 18, 2024 I wish I would have known that name changes were allowed. many years ago we planned a future cruise while my wife was pregnant and we named our beautiful child the name we had given our wonderful travel agent even though we wanted to name the baby something else at birth. Phoned up as we needed 5 cabins for a family holiday and the unborn has been put on with a DoB as 1/1/24 for the moment and the name of Mister TBA Surname. they seemed quite happy with that and we will update the details once the "bowling ball" has been born. Best of luck to your brother and his wife Quote

Best of luck to your brother and his wife Well our granddaughter arrived 16 days late and now has been added to my big birthday cruise booking - her first name is now correct but she is still down as “master” Olivia. They wouldn’t take the change from me though and had to speak to the person who was the first named passenger in that cabin. WAAAYTOOO, Sweety and PPPJJ-GCVAB 1 2 Quote
