Scott Wooten Posted March 26, 2024 Report Posted March 26, 2024 Is it ok to wear dress shorts into the main dining room for dinner? Or do I need to wear dress casual pants? Quote
Ampurp85 Posted March 26, 2024 Report Posted March 26, 2024 My personal opinion is as long as "naughty" bits are covered, wear what you want. Casual and dress shorts are definitely okay. Scott Wooten, PPPJJ-GCVAB and ScottD 2 1 Quote

OCSC Mike Posted March 26, 2024 Report Posted March 26, 2024 As mentioned, shorts are perfectly fine. FWIW, my not-dressy-at-all shorts and a casual polo easily put me above the 50th percentile as far as "dressiness" on casual nights in the MDR on Wonder last week. Plenty of t-shirts to be found... and some sports jerseys. ScottD and PPPJJ-GCVAB 1 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 26, 2024 Report Posted March 26, 2024 You'll see people in gym shorts and a t-shirt in the MDR every night. Quote

loki007 Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 my rule is never wear pants, those are for work. Shorts are for cruising PeloAl, ScottD, CanHardlyWait and 2 others 2 3 Quote
mbr1978 Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 My husband wore khaki shorts and a collared shirt in the MDR. Not a word was said about his shorts. (Last month on Symphony) Quote
baltodave Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 We just got off Odyssey and men were almost anything. Even on formal night, I saw one dude with t-shirt, gym shorts and flip flops. However, most guys wore polo shirts or dress shirts. I sort of wish they enforced long pants on guys on formal/dress-to-impress nights. Mike.s 1 Quote
JLMoran Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 A reason I can think of to wear longer / dressier shorts is if you don't like the cold. I find the MDR to be chilly most nights, so I'm always wearing a pair of chinos (my daily casual pant) and a button-down shirt or polo. I think if I wore shorts of any kind, the waiters would be bringing me blankets from the all-over goose bumps and chattering teeth! aubtfan 1 Quote
CynBeth Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 On our Med cruise in July most people were very casual. Quote
Fastfaller Posted March 28, 2024 Report Posted March 28, 2024 I have always dressed nice for the MDR, but this next cruise I think I am going to be more relaxed about it, everyone else is. I probably still won't wear shorts but I am not going to feel obligated to wear a dress shirt. Maybe a polo, maybe a Hawaiian shirt... Whichever I am comfortable in. OCSC Mike 1 Quote
