I’m not getting any offers either. I was on the phone so long with them already doing the transfer that I didn’t think to ask about offers.  The truth is, we don’t have time right now to do anymore anyway. After Dan retires next spring...different story

Some how I got stuck in their system according to the Rep.. She went through my history and said oh yes you should absolutely be getting offers. Then she had to take a bunch of screenshots and all this proof to send to management and then they can fix the problem for me lol. I don't understand how it happens but she said because of their wonderful IT system it happens all the time lol.

Yes, I was very fortunate to get a casino CS rep that gave me one of those deals from the "good ol' days".....back when casino comp upgrades were really GREAT deals.

I just got off with the Casino and got a good "Oregon" Rep.. In fact I have had her many times in the past and she is wonderful. I wish I could always call her lol.. She also confirmed that they are letting people moved comped cruises to the time frame you said.. I am happy they decided to do this and makes life so much easier. My Rep was so nice. The reason I actually called her is I am all of a sudden a victim of not receiving offers... She went through my history and said this makes no sense. She said I even remember booking many offers for you. She had to take many screenshots for proof for management but she said it will absolutely get fixed and I should be receiving new offers absolutely. Its no nice when we get the good competent reps on the phone.. I wish they could all be like that lol. But anyway I am glad you got to move your cruise!!

@AGSLC5 Do you mind me asking why you feel perfectly safe? Even before COVID I have never felt safe in largely populated places. Caveat....I had a friend get stabbed while we were in a night club in Miami years ago. Now my paranoia has ?tripled? with COVID. It is one thing to feel safe because a business is doing what they should, another to feel safe with the patrons.

Well I feel perfectly safe because I was never scared of Covid to begin with. I believe if it’s my time to die it’s my time to die so if I get Covid and die it was my time..  But if your talking about people in Vegas I have never been scared here. I love Vegas I have always felt safe here. I was counting the minutes for them to reopen

  4. Just wanted to update people. Been to Vegas a full week now and I am still here. People are not scared of the Virus here. People only wear a mask when forced to do so. The only casinos in the strip that are forcing people to wear a mask are Caesars properties. MLife has the plexiglass no mask, Wynn plexiglass no mask, Venetian no mask or plexiglass but staff wears mask, same at cosmopolitan.. I have played at them all and I feel perfectly safe and fine. They do enforce the table limits and do force people to stay 6 feet apart from tables who are not playing. The also clean the chips and change card decks often. Also every employee no matter what their job is has to wear a mask but as I said they don’t force anyone else. They also do temperature checks when you check into the hotel but they don’t do it when casino hopping but I think everyone is just sick of this and ready to let loose because it’s crowded And all dealers and pit bosses I talk to say we didn’t expect so many people and yet they came.

It appears that ALL of the guidelines the big names in Vegas published are just words.  Ive seen many videos including this one and have had friends visit vegas already and there is little to no policing of the policies.  Let us sail again!

Not to argue with you but I got to Vegas in June 4th the day they opened I am currently still here and will be for another week.. So here is the deal each casino has different rules. All Caesars owned properties require you to wear a mask while playing table games. Any MGM hotels including Bellagio do not require masks because they put up the plastic plexiglass instead.. Also they have been constantly cleaning the chips offering people sanitizer and social distancing tables and slots. So I don’t know what your friends are talking about lol because trust me I hate the mask but if I want to play at Flamingo I gotta wear it. And let me say this also if people start to crowd the table the pit bosses come over and say step back 6 feet so crowding.. But I do agree if Vegas can open cruises can open. I feel safe in Vegas and I would feel safe on a cruise!

I don't think they aren't being loyal at all. I think they are being realistic given the company is hemorrhaging money on a daily basis.

The freebies you got were given away in a vastly different economic situation, and I believe once cruising begins again, the casino will be more than open to welcoming you back with new offers. But I think expecting them to continue to mortgage their future to offer free cruises on sailings that may or may not happen right now is a reach.

I respect your opinion Matt but the thing is the Casino IS giving away freebees now on cruises that might not happen.. They send me offers weekly right now to book cruises Sept-Dec any cruise I want except Christmas or New Years.. Then they send offers for Jan and Feb totally Free.. Now I am grateful and I have booked a few of these offers But your point doesn't make sense because you said you can't expect them to offer freebees in this time and yet they are. So if they are willing to send out free ones why cant the honor the ones people lost.. I totally would agree with you if they weren't sending any offers right now and said you know what we are hemorrhaging money we will wait and see but they aren't I got like 5 offers to choose from and that's because they want my taxes and fees money and any upgrade money I am willing to give which is fine I like having cruises on the books but I still think if they can offer free ones now they can honor the other ones..

Just out of curiosity and not meant to be snarky at all.....if you did not gamble at all, could that money spent in the casino be used towards the cruises you want to take? I have no idea how much money people gamble with since I’m a “$20 in the slots once on a cruise” kind of girl.

It could but one of the reasons I like cruising is because I like gambling and I assume most serious gamblers who are in Club Royale feel the way I do.. We feel since we spend thousands in the casino we deserve to be comped accordingly.. For me personally the main reason I cruise is so I can gamble I would never go on a cruise without a casino.. So I wouldn't want to take the 1300 and put it down on a cruise then I would be bored on the cruise because I couldn't gamble..

Do you think they really are going to cxl thru end of July?  Thinking about 7/18 on SOTS or 7/25 because the kids go back to school the first week of August!

The earliest I think they would sail is 7/25 because the no sail order ends 7/24... I have a cruise 7/30.. I am really hoping we get to go..

You're right we're biased, but I am genuinely curious what percentage of "super fans" are willing to go. It's not going to be 100%, so what percentage will it be? It's almost like grading on a curve in that it will be interesting to see how skewed or not are the results.

I find your survey very interesting.. I have already said I am going as soon as they let us BUT I have no kids and no grandparents.. I have my dad but I don't live with him.. I am very curious to know what is your vote Matt? No judgment I just really want to know how you feel? I know you have more of a risk with having a family but as our "Leader" how do you feel about it? again not trying to judge you if your scared I just really am curious how you feel.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I present a piece of credible evidence that my 1 August Symphony cruise MAY be sailing :

Today, the cost of the day pass at Coco Cay nearly doubled !!  Yesterday, it was $79 and today it is $149.

Of course, there are other reasons for this price jump - it could be selling out...but I choose to see it as being evidence that we are going !!

This cruise goes to both Labadee and Coco Cay, which would make it, seemingly, a top candidate for a "go" if ANY of the ships are going.

    Fingers crossed....

I also hope yours is a go.. I booked a 4 night on July 30 on Indy hoping since its a 4 night to Coco Cay and Bahamas it would be possibly the first to sail.. I don't have confidence in my Symphony July 25 and I have to be back by Aug 4.. So I thought I might as well try 4 night on July 30.. I am hoping it will be the first to sail lol I am crossing my fingers for both of us!

All of this is predicated on the CDC not extending the order correct?

I would assume so.. But the White House has some effect over the CDC.. For instance the no sail order was originally going to be 120 days.. Cruise lines reached out to the White House which then told the CDC to make it 100 days.. As Matt reported the 3 CEO's of Carnival, NCL, and Royal all are on Trump's "Task Force" for how to reopen and business leaders.. So I have a feeling the White House will lean hard on the CDC to not extend unless they really feel they need too..

Thanks @AGSLC5  Sadly I have watched your governor from afar so   fully understand what you are saying. Doesnt the CDC have something to do with this? i could be totally wrong here. If the information below is correct then maybe #3 is the loophole for FLorida. April 9th + 100 days is July 19th. so unless it gets extended it doesnt look like there would currently be any legal reason agains it.

    The CDC Order

The order effectively bans cruise ship operations in light of the COVID-19 epidemic until the earliest of any of three conditions is met:

    1-  If the Secretary of Health and Human Services declares that the COVID-19 public health emergency has expired;

    2- If the CDC Director rescinds or modifies the order, based on public health or other considerations;

3- 100 days from the date of publication (April 9) of the order in the Federal Register.

The industry association, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), voluntarily suspended cruise ship operations on March 14 in conjunction with an earlier order issued by the CDC.

The CDC No sail order is over July 24.. So ships could resume right away at that point.. This is Why Disney said they want to resume July 27 and Carnival said Aug 1.. That way they are complying with the CDC order.. I have a feeling Royal will Follow suit and Start either July 30 or Aug 1... Today Michael Bayley told travel agents he would start from Florida and start with the ships that go to Coco Cay.. Which is pretty much what I guessed and is what Carnival is doing with having 8 ships leave out of Florida and Texas... I think Royal will do exact same thing... I think they will have Symphony, Harmony, Navigator, Independence, Mariner out of Florida and Liberty out of Texas.. I think those are the ships they will start with first.. This is just a guess of course and we need to wait for official announcement but its what I think could happen..

We are from CA so flights to Florida will be a little more than New Orleans which is not an issue. Researching other cruises from Florida now. Thanks!

If you can do a late July or Early Aug cruise I would suggest that more than a cruise in June.. I just don't have confidence cruising will be back in June.. I live in South Florida we are just opening this coming Monday.. I can see us being ready by the end of July so check for that..

I am leaning towards this cruise not to happen on this date either. I am in the process of looking at later dates. Kids are going to be bummed.

How Far do you live From Florida? The options for cruises out of Florida are so much better.. Also the ships out of Florida are so much more kid friendly.. Majesty is such an old ship. Yes they have a splash zone and camp but that's about it for kids.. An Oasis class ship or if you want a smaller ship look at Navigator, Mariner, Freedom or Indy.. All have so much better things for kids to do..

I agree with you @WAAAYTOOO that I wonder if this is even remotely true that Carnical will begin sailing then. Sadly I think this is wishful thinking on everyones part. We are still deep in the pandemic worldwide. First, where will the ships sail from? No port in the US is prepared to open any time soon. And secondly, what countries are willing to recieve cruise ships? It would be interesting to see what itineraries Carnival is booking to what countries and then check those countries policies. I think this is a marketing move on thier part. Put it out there "We are sailing!" and guage interest and collect a lot of deposits with no real plan to be able to actually execute the cruise until the CDC approves them again. With all of the threads here about FCC's and the disposition of them I dont think I would be in a rush to give anyone any money on what is bascially wishful thinking right now.

Maybe thier intentions are honorable here about sailing. I also have honorable intentions of winning the powerball jackpot every weekend but that hasnt happened yet either.

Well I can tell you the Ships would sail from Florida... I live in Florida.. I can tell you Our governor sadly is a Mini Trump. And since Trump believes things should open Most of Florida is open.. South Florida is stated to open May 18.. I could see us being in phase 2 by Mid June... Tourism can resume in phase 2 and I have a feeling by end of July we absolutely will be ready to have ships.. Where do I think they will go probably Bahamas, Coco Cay, Labadee, Mexico, and wherever the Caribbean will let boats dock.. They also could very well leave out of Texas as their Governor also lets things be open.. Everywhere else I think not but that's exactly why Carnival said they will sail out of Florida and Galveston because those are the only 2 places that will let cruise ships lol.. I Strongly feel by End of July Early August ships will leave from Florida and Texas..

Holland America have also announced further cancellations, come on RC, no one really believes you'll be sailing on the 12th June, just put us out of our misery.

    https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22905-holland-america-cancels-all-2020-alaska-europe-and-canada-sailings.html

Holland America and Princess are all run by Carnival corp. It makes sense they all made an announcement at the same time.. I do agree I don't think Royal will be sailing by June 12.. But They could very well be sailing in a limited capacity like Carnival anytime July 25 and after since the CDC order ends July 24.. Leaving out of Florida they should absolutely be able to. Florida is open except for Date county (Miami), Broward County (ft. Lauderdale), And Palm beach county.. I live in Broward.. I could see us opening May 30.. That would give us 2 months to get to " Level 2" which is what is needed for Tourism.. So I can absolutely see ships leaving from Florida End of July

The last Caribbean cruise on their list of affected cruises was to sail on July 18 -- I didn't realize they ran such a different Caribbean season than others. That being said, it's sad to see an entire season's New England/Canada cruises disappear (their last one was scheduled to sail October 31). Maybe I'm being a bit selfish here, but I'm more concerned about the non-Caribbean cruises on the list. That's a LOT of places not to sail to going into fall.

Yeah that was exactly my point but I feel bad making it.. I don't think Canada New England cruises or any cruise from NJ or NY is going to happen until at least November... I Think Those places aren't going to allow cruises to dock... I don't like saying it on these forums because so many people are hoping to A. Leave from NJ and B take a Canada New England cruise in the fall... I don't ever want to burst someone's cruising bubble and I still hope people can go its just my personal opinion I don't think its going to happen. They are much more strict than Florida.. And as for a different Caribbean season A lot of Cruise lines only have a Very Limited presence in the Caribbean during the summer. Mostly because they have to move their ships elsewhere.. So Celebrity for instance only keeps 1 ship here during the summer all the other ships go to different places.. I assume Princess does the same..

I read an article this morning that indicated that the CDC had no knowledge of Carnivals plan to resume cruising and that Carnival had not consulted with them (CDC) about this plan.  Makes me wonder if it was ever real to begin with.

But I wonder if Carnival did that on purpose? I feel like when the CDC came out with the no sail order they blindsided the cruise lines.. I remember they announced it late on a Thursday night giving the cruise lines no time to warn guests or have a response. Of course the CDC can do what they like but I think the cruise lines were upset about that and maybe that's why Carnival didn't consult CDC? Who knows I am purely speculating lol and could be totally off base.. I just wish everyone would get on the same page and give us some info.

I am confused at how this will even be possible. I know Trump has been saying all sorts of amazing things but does everyone honestly expect there to be no new cases by August 1. The numbers have stabilised but not really dropping. How can there be a guarantee that no one will be carrying the virus by then.

Who said this guarantee's no new cases? Cruising can resume while there is cases they just have to be extremely careful which they will be.. Its the same as Casino's, movie theaters, amusement parks opening.. Those are all things that will be opening this year while there still are cases.. There is no guarantee people won't be carrying the virus that's why they probably will make people wear masks, do temp checks before boarding, clean constantly... everything that Disney and Casinos want to put in place I'm sure cruises will also want to put in place.. And if your too scared and feel uncomfortable just don't cruise lol but for the rest of us who want to cruise immediately and are willing to risk it why not.. Its just as risky as Casinos and Disney World
