Will be on Anthem in September. One of our stops is Boston.  I will attempt to salvage as much tea as possible while we are in port.  Nothing better than a glass of ice cold green tea. Oh and then the ultimate is a Long Island Tea.  YUM!!!!!!

Actually, I think the old Portofinos was the best of them all but those have been gone for years.  Too bad really

That`s why we are moving back to Florida this fall.  Lots of ports to choose from and no more airline hassles.  And 3 grandchildren.  

We switched a few years ago to Bonine,  and it does not make you as drowsy as Dramamine does and works just as good. We have it with us but only use it when seas are rough.  It seems the more you cruise the less you get motion sickness.  At least for us anyways.   Also not having an empty stomach and staying hydrated works very well.   

I agree with you.  It seems like the self-assist crowd is growing on every cruise.  I always avoid using self-assist unless I have to use it.  It is always so unorganized and loaded with line cutters.

We always get the insurance. It is so worth the peace of mind.  We have witnessed 2 helicopter and 1 boat  pick up of ill passengers over the last 4 years.  Anybody young or old can get injured or take ill.   Dunn`s River Falls is notorious for causing many injuries.  It`s like that slogan.  Don`t leave home without it.

Better yet power down the phone and put it in the safe till the cruise is over.  The peace and tranquility is amazing.  A dry eraser or post it notes work great. We tell everyone if their is an emergency just call RC and they will contact us.  Don`t worry be happy.  And ENJOY the cruise.

There are two things worse than missing a cruise final payment date......forgetting your wife's birthday and forgetting your wedding anniversary date. ?

There is a free beach, San Francisco beach, which is a few minutes and cheap taxi ride away.  Maybe not the greatest but we went there a few years ago and had a blast.  You can buy drinks and get food a la cartel so whatever you want to spend.

BTW, San Francisco is directly next door to Paradise and there is -0- fee to get in 

Great review Brian, thanks! I, too, purchased the Key for my wife and I at &19.99 each. Looking forward to our cruise on the Anthem this July out of Port Liberty. If any of the crew/staff gives me a hard time about the Key, I'll just tell them "Hey, Brian said.......". 

After you arrive talk to the hotel employees and get their take on where to go eat.  We did that there 3 years ago and and the restaurant was fantastic. Sorry we don`t remember the name.  And with the recent hurricane who knows whats open and available.

I clearly understand what @princevaliantus is saying. To me it's bad marketing strategy, almost to the point of false advertising. When your marketing a service vs product, you could argue supply and demand drives the price up for the product industry, which would be correct. Now the service industry still remains the same for the service, its not like your going to receive better service due to a different allotted time.
This is why we don't use the Spa, most of the time you can get better service at one of the ports for a fraction of the price.

I will echo everyone else’s recommendations. Having been the shepherd for many a group cruise, do NOT wait for others to decide and/or act. Everyone always says “yes” to a group cruise and then many will balk when it comes time to pony up the cash. If you wait on them you will end up paying more and they STILL won’t be going with you.
There  is no down side to booking early unless you book a nonrefundable deposit and later decide to cancel.  If there is a price drop you can reprice.  If the fares go up, you made out !
 

Too many intangibles and no time to spare.   Not worth the stress.  For instance bad weather, ship does not clear customs. Or harbor pilot issues.  Traffic issues. Missing luggage and so on. So what happens if you miss the 10:15 flight. Then what?  Two better choices. Much latter flight or stay overnight.  And last and something I don`t bring up much what about ship issues. They are rare but do happen. 

Actually Euros.  We brought some with that we had purchased  before leaving  and used an A.T. M. while over there. And then converted them at the airport before flying back home.  The charges we made were converted to euros. Our credit card does not charge for those transactions which also helps.
