Not really a bar but when we travelled on Sihouette, Cafe Al Bacio was the hive of activity, always packed, great vibe about it.

Done got a reaction from Neesa in Is it worth it to check in and board the ship early?
Out last 2 cruises were done both with early (10:30 am ) and midday (1:30 pm) check in times.
Cruise 1: There were long lines but we managed to get through it all and we aboard by 11:10 or so We wanted to get the muster checkin done but they didn't start that process until noon. Our cabins were not promised to us until 2:00 pm though they were available at 1:30 pm.  To me it seemed the classic "hurry up and wait" scenario.
Cruise 2: 1:30 pm checkin window.  It was much less chaotic.  We didn't need to rush through breakfast to catch an early shuttle.  We experienced no wait lines for checkin, boarding, cabin availability or muster checkin process.  I didn't feel cheated out of 2 or 3 hours of vacation at all!

I'd like to see a smaller Voyager Class ship with less bells and whistles.  Never happen though.

I can't wait to see what Royal comes up with as a replacement for their Vision Class vessels.  Those ships date back to the mid to late 90s, with Utopia coming as well as at least 2 more Icon Class vessels I think this is the beginning of the end of mega vessels from Royal because at some point next decade their smaller vessels like Vision Class and perhaps even Voyager Class ships will need to start being replaced.
I know it's only 2022 and here I am already talking about the next decade but at some point in this decade Royal has to start thinking about what is going to replace their aging Vision and Voyager Class ships.  I also think when Royal does replace their smaller ships I think the replacements will be of similar size but with less bells and whistles so as not to completely alienate an entire segment of the cruise industry.

I just did a mock booking and a Jr suite is over $6k after all discounts for October 2024.  A substantial increase for the privilege of sailing with 7K other guests, not us!

Done reacted to Brandis in Are the check-in lines at the terminal necessary?
When we last boarded Harmony of the Seas in Port Everglades, except at Security, there weren't any lines at all. Once you cleared security, there were so many open counters that no line was even able to build. We just had to show the Set Sail pass, they checked the passport and the uploaded picture and that was it, probaly took about 20 sec. max per person and. Once done, we were directed directly to the Gangway.
From stepping out of the taxi, dropping the bags, through security and documents check until stepping onto the ship I'd say it was less than 15 min. total. The check-in process is perfectly streamlined.
Now, at other ports where they don't have their own terminal and visit regularily, the process might take a bit longer.

I agree.  They are a cost of doing business for RC and designed to cement the loyalty of those already regular customers.

Done got a reaction from CeciMami in Specialty Coffees from Cafe Promenade
The Cafe Select card you buy in cruise planner is for 15 shots of espresso.  There are 1,2,3 shots of espresso in the small, medium and large coffee sizes respectively (tall, grande and venti?)  On Harmony the person taking the order made sure I understood that when I ordered.  I have read some others were not so clear.
I am not a regular customer at the coffee shops at home so I can't compare the quality.  I do know from experience on board the ship the chocolate syrup in the Starbucks mochas is not as sweet as Cafe Promenade.  I prefer Starbucks mochas for that reason.

If we stayed in suites only we would hit Pinnacle in 2065...I would only be 101 years old by then.

They do offer an onboard discount if your are Diamond Plus (30%) or Pinnacle (40%). However, that is onboard prices, so the pre-cruise price would probably still be better. A discount code to use for pre-cruise purchase... now, we are talking. Highly unlikely, though.

I will disagree that Pinnacle is easy to achieve, at least for us.  We are Diamond Plus, 204 points.  We need 496 more points to achieve Pinnacle.  No way we will be ever able to do that.  We do not have the $$ to cruise that much even with double points for suites.  We would need ~36 (7) night cruises in a suite.

It would be nice if RC offered a hybrid Deluxe Beverage Package for those of us getting Crown and Anchor drink vouchers.  Offer a discount to purchase the DBP in exchange for the C&A drink vouchers.

Next cruise will put us at D+.  It only took us 23 years and a pandemic with double points.
Don't see Pinnacle happening in this life time.

Since we qualified for the drink vouchers we do not get the DBP.  The cost of the DBP has also deterred us.  The highest I have ever paid for it was $53 per person, per day but those prices are long gone for the foreseeable future.

I’d felt better about the travel authorization if a single person other than the one Royal Caribbean terminal employee cared to look at my receipt for paying the fee. Not one single person in Bermuda did over the past three days.

I think other countries are going to notice the far greater per cruise ship passenger and cruise ship crew member  dollars Bermuda collects and correspondingly raising their fees by “Oh, $40 a person too.”
