You might get on a wait-list for disabled balcony cabin.  I think chances are good there will be a cancellation.  Good luck to you

I have 9 booked cruises right now.  3 this year and 6 for 2022.   I am planning on all of next years to be sailing.  But doubts on this Sept. out of Southampton.  And confident that this coming Decembers will work out.  2 of my bookings are on Celebrity Apex and the rest are all RC ships, including the new Odyssey.

That is why I booked  BtoB cruises, but who knows.  And the reason I think my Sept. cruise will not happen as it is 9 days.  It was booked pre-pandemic.
    Fingers crossed for our cruises!

I have 2 weeks in December also, in a suite.  I REALLY hope it happens.  Can't wait.  Been too long.  Have couple other cruises before that but am sure they will be cancelled.  I do think December will be a go.

I agree with the math used by @Lovetocruise2002......
    7 point for the sailing
    7 points for solo
    equals 14 points
DOUBLE the points and you are at 28 points.

Think about what would happen if you did a JS Solo 7 night cruise right now......I think all the double points would make you Infinity Pinnacle!!

Linda R reacted to MaritimeR&R in A change in the final payment date is needed for cruises whose home port falls under the jurisdiction of the CDC
Given the recent statements by the CDC shouldn't RCG, like other cruise lines, either cancel or shorten the dates for final payments from 90 days prior to sailing to more like 45 from ports like Cape Liberty in New Jersey. Cruises from Bayonne have no chance of being opened up to cruise ship traffic this summer:
In New Jersey, the number of new infections over the past month has risen by 37%
In the past 2 weeks, New Jersey reported 647 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents.
New York has done only slightly better, averaging 548 new cases per 100,000 residents.
Even though vaccination rates have accelerated, rising coronavirus infection rates in New Jersey and New York have made them the TOP TWO states for infections per capita
The situation in New York and New Jersey is reflective of the national one, as case numbers have begun to rise. Two weeks ago the U.S. was averaging 54,000 new cases a day—now that number is 62,000, according to AP.
At this point, continuing to act as though sailings from Cape Liberty this summer could possibly occur is at best a very weak and costly mask to currently booked passengers.  It's time for RCG to show some consideration for its customers.

Royal had to let people go because of the pandemic.  I don't know how deeply they cut the IT or web teams but you have to know they are not 100%.
Someone made a mistake.  We all make mistakes.  No one died.  Cruising during and in the wake of a pandemic will mean changes.  CAS has to change.  We'll know soon enough.
    No big deal.

Me neither.  In fact I live in Montana and basically cannot go anywhere non-stop.   Flights are always a hassle.  Just today rec'd notice from Delta that my flights times for a trip in May  (not a cruise unfortunately) had changed and I would miss a connection.  So cannot get from east coast to Montana in 1 day.  So, now have to stay overnight somewhere, probably Salt Lake City.    Bummer, and more money.

If I am not in a suite I do bring my own hair products.  Sample sizes that I can throw out after use and not bring home.  And smaller body wash also.  I don't really worry if I have enough for whole trip as using what is provided is fine now and then.  And I bring small toothpaste too, like from the dentist appts.    I use hairdryer in stateroom and works fine for me.

I agree with Twangster, Royal has met and exceeded requirements set forth by the CDC according to CEO Richard Fain and yet the CDC refuses to work with them to reopen cruising from US ports. The company has found a work around that will get them back to sailing, and of course everything is not going to be perfect nor please everyone, but it’s a far cry better than nothing!  As vaccinations increase there will be plenty of willing cruisers for what may be a temporary situation. Personally why would anyone object to being onboard where everyone including crew has been vaccinated?  Sounds safe and relaxing to me.

In our world right now airlines are flying, hotels and resorts are open, even Disney is open, so what’s the reason for forbidding cruising?  You’re likely safer on these ships than in your own neighborhood.

Royal is doing what it needs to do to survive.  It's obvious the CDC has no intention of letting them sail soon in America.  Numerous ports have agreed to allow Royal ships to visit on the premise that everyone will be tested and everyone will be vaccinated.  Virgin Cruises is doing the same.
There is no way any Caribbean nation can tell it's people they are opening their ports to thousands while those countries haven't been vaccinated unless everyone arriving is vaccinated and tested.  That is the only way to better ensure the safety of the Caribbean nations being visited before those residents can get the vaccine.
I realize many will not choose the vaccine and some can't get the vaccine for medical reasons.  The problem facing Royal is the very real possibility of collapse if they wait any longer.
Boycott if you must, spend your money elsewhere if you choose.  However understand the company has to do this to survive.

Personally I would go with 2 Jr Suites.  As one main reason I book GS is for Coastal Kitchen, which is not on this ship.  Also if you cruise is this June I do not think it will happen.  Even if for some reason June cruises open, I doubt 8 day cruises will.  They will start with shorter cruises in my opinion.
Good Luck.   I am vaccinated and just waiting..........and waiting........  I keep booking more as they get cancelled.

Exciting news, and I personally like the vaccination rule - if that's what it takes to start cruising again, I'm in. I understand the frustration for those who don't want the vaccine (or can't get it yet, like myself) though.
Supposed to be on Adventure in December. Fingers crossed!

3 of my co-workers had very rough cases of COVID.  I don't want any part of that, so I got my first shot 2 days ago.
As far as risks go, I feel that the risk from the vaccine, although real, is small compared to the risks of getting the disease.

I do think cruises will happen in June or July.  But I think they will be shorter in length, less than 7 days.  And may not be available to international travelers, if they are cruises in another country.  And of course, only some of the ships will sail first few months..  That is the big question....What ships are going to start first.  I expect 7 day cruises will start maybe Sept.  Or a couple months after shorter cruises start.
I had April and May cruises cancelled and my next one is out of Southampton in Sept., and it is 9 nights, so do not see it happening at all.
So this summer I have trips booked in the US. Charleston, SC.  Vegas.  etc.
I have 5 cruises booked for next year and planning on most things to be back to normal by then.  And have 2 cruises booked December this year and hoping they will be a go.  I am more than ready to cruise.  Even with restrictions.

Personally I avoid tight connections.  Once they arrive at 6am, the ship has to get cleared  before people can disembark. I would stay in hotel one day and leave the next morning.  Or get a hotel for day use before your evening flight.    Also you might be able to use the airline club lounges for the day.
