Prime Casino Royale offer issue - HELP!
Ogilthorpe replied to Esther .....Diamond Plus's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I have received no offers since this began either. We also were told there was an email address issue, but that all offers would also arrive via snail mail. At the same time, all of my offers vanished last weekend from the club Royale offers page, even the unexpired offers. -
Greek Islands & Italy - September
Ogilthorpe replied to Robin & Jim Herriff's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Just the opposite here , last year we booked Western Meditation Allure for October ... THEN our sons wanted to go. Moved up to Star class and added them ... now nobody is willing to cruise, no flights and no Amp. I sense a switch to the Oasis out of NJ (sans children) for us very soon. ? -
How Many Days Since Your Last Cruise
Ogilthorpe replied to Va4fam's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
45 Days since we left the Oasis. .... 165 Days until we board the Allure (I strongly suspect a modification will happen) -
Crown and Anchor Program/Benefits Post Covid-19
Ogilthorpe replied to RBRSKI's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would not be surprised to changes to the program. With that said, I would expect enhancements ... at least in the near term. An example would be the recent promotion that added an additional $50 discount for all C&A members above the status discounts. I think the last thing they would want is to risk alienating loyal customers at this time. However, as time goes on those updates could go the other way. -
Anthem in February. Should I go or cancel?
Ogilthorpe replied to alamode123's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
A popular sailing date! We are on also. -
That could be a motivation for RCL to help maintain "social distancing" ...in a half empty theatre ??? If NCL didn't already have it (assuming licensing stipulations) ... I think Jersey Boys would be popular. Of course, I could always go for White Christmas ?
-
I agree that nothing would be out of the question currently. At this point I wonder if RCL.would even be in a position to handle the additional logistical issues considering their response time for what they already have on the docket. Besides, I want the Oasis in Cape Liberty ... I plan to book ??

Diabetics not allowed on cruise
Ogilthorpe replied to benfalconer's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
This doesn't seem to align with their published restrictions, which were put in place on March 13. At that time, RCL said that anyone denied boarding would receive a full refund. Also, where did RCL get this information? Since there is no firm policy regarding such restrictions extending to June 20, it seems this may not be correct on the part of your agent. Could this have been a credit issued for a sailing that is already cancelled beyond 6/11? Such as one involving a Canadian port? -
We were in the first round of cancellations (March 15 sailing), received FCC on April 10. Cruise Planner cancellation notice on April 14. No refunds yet, but we are still in the 30ish day window.

Does this suggest that we can all watch the muster drill video in our rooms?? .... I'm all for it!

I believe there is some level of business maneuvering here, but I think the sheer volume and lack of an automated process have a huge impact on response time. 26 ships, for 13 weeks, with assumed reservations at less than full capacity of 87000 per total fleet sailing, yields 1.13 million refunds to process. Note that cruise planner purchases are separate, we could be at 2.26 million transactions to process. Consider that some ships run twice a week, add in cruise with confidence, and handling new reservations and rebooking, that number could soar.

Currently, airfares most places are down at least 50% for most domestic destinations from our airport (ELM) ... Delta First Class to MIA : $450 +/- ... almost makes me want to book air THEN find a cruise! ??

From my cruise planner (for 2/10/2021) Thrill waterpark cabanas $598.99 Oasis Lagoon Cabanas $599.00 Chill Island cabanas $698.99 Coco Beach Club beach cabanas $899.00 South Beach Cabanas $999.00 Coco Beach Club Floating Cabanas $1499.00
-
Or lending some truth to the rumour that the RCL financial system is hosted on a Pentium II box ????
-
Depending on sail date, there are price drops currently in place. I only have visibility into a date in February 2021, but there are sales. An example: Chill Island cabanas at 698 down from 999. Not the lowest I've seen, but a decent deal.
-
Not a refund, but perhaps indicative of the volume of processing at RCL currently: I made a cruise planner purchase on Friday 4/17 and it has not yet posted to my visa.
-
One of my biggest concerns is the potential for a societal prejudice against cruises as a result of the media campaign to demonize cruise lines that results in employers and organizations subjecting employees and members to a 2 week imposed quarantine after taking a cruise. I may be way ahead of myself here, but uninformed employers could prevent even the most dedicated cruise afficianados from enjoying their vacation of choice. This could truly be negative for the cruise industry.
-
While many of us aren't focused on upcoming cruise planning currently, I wanted to let everyone know that there appears to be a sale on cococay cabanas at this time. I don't have insight to many sailings, but our February 2021 trip has decent cabana discounts right now. I would encourage you to check out your upcoming cruises for potential savings.

Statistics and recent studies are suggesting that this could very well be the case. If recent science is validated, let's hope that cruising can resume soon as a result. ⛴?
