I used to always take it off the ship, then I stopped for a bit. I too had a fear of losing it or it being stolen.
I bought a neat passport wallet that holds passport, credit cards & cash so now I'm back to always taking it off the ship. 
It's not required to reboard the ship, but walking around a country without your countries passport doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
I bring photocopies for record of passport information. My driver's license is enhanced so that helps closed loops (if passport was stolen) and I'm finally embracing a password manager (1password) and will start storing copies of these sensitive documents there.

I always take my passport with me when I get off the ship in any port.  And I recommend everyone do the same.  

You bring an up important aspect of cruising in a pandemic.  CBP hasn't changed the rules but it appears like Royal might be implementing a new policy of passport only.  Maybe if there is fear they might need to divert and offload in another country?  I'm not sure but it is an interesting observation and good catch.  
I always cruise with a passport but that isn't relevant.  If Royal is changing their policy they really should tell everyone that.  

I wouldn't cruise without a passport. If there is an emergency and you need to fly home it's essential. And you're not going to leave your kids behind and fly home, so get them one too!

It's almost like the CDC doesn't want us to travel.

This thread is about wearing a mask and getting a vaccine to cruise, not a discussion of what the state of Texas (or any state) is doing about masks for its residents.

We're up to 70 million jabs here in the US as of Feb. 25, and we're jabbing about 2 million...a day.

Ok, this alone would creep me the frack out.

I was thinking more along the lines of:
Hi, so we understand you run some kind of a business called "cruising" ... we don't really know anything about that, could you take some time and explain what it is and how works ... apparently we are in complete control of your business and we are generally opposed to anything that happens outside of a laboratory in tightly controlled conditions so this is very scary to us already.

"Not as great as advertised. No bar service. No Aqua Theater. No Pool. No Central Park. No restaurants. No Flow Rider. Crew was apathetic at best. One ⭐."

I hate you lost your cruise. Cant wait till we can all talk about actual, real, happening cruises, again.
As for the weight loss journey....dont feel bad. As long as it took and as easy as it was to gain weight, its equally hard to lose it.  Set backs are just part of it. Over the past 3 years, I started at 270, got down to 195, and have gone between 215 and 195 at different points based on how strict ive been in my routine. ROUTINE IS THE KEY. Since Covid19 struck, Ive gained 13 lbs. No gym + stuck at home with all the food (and increased alcohol intake) = weight gain.  Our office had a gym, and once this hit and i started working from home....gym went bye bye. I tried working out at home, but its just NOT THE SAME, and its discouraging. Good news is, I found out this week that ill never be going back to the office (working from home permanently) so im going to bite the bullet and join a gym near the house. Now that I know this is permanent I can establish a new ROUTINE. Im more than ready to get back to my old diet and exercise. YOU CAN DO IT....set backs happen. Dont give up.

This is just the preview... available on demand, but will also be broadcast on the Smithsonian Channel on Sat, 1/23/21 at 2:00 am... time to DVR it just in case! ?

Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I get asked to rejoin a cruise ship, and head back to work. I'm amazed at how much love for the cruising there still is, and it's people like you that will keep this industry alive!
