Yes, as Pooch says - "Woo-Sox", but this is only their second season.  Prior to that they were "Paw-Sox" from Pawtucket, RI.  I grew up in RI.  I like the old mascot Paws better than the new mascot Woofster.

I saw Mark "The Bird" Fidrych pitch at McCoy Stadium for the PawSox.  The sox picked him up after he blew out his arm in Detroit.  I saw many MLB stars play there over the years...

I only speak tourist New England, but I believe you'd have to spell it "WorcestSox" then.  On second thought, I see the PR nightmare that possible phonetic issues could cause for outsiders.  Never mind.

Seriously though, MiLB is fantastic.  I'm a 15-20 minute drive to the Trenton Thunder.  Before the Yankees characteristically stabbed them in the back and withdrew their affiliation status without warning, I saw a number of Yankees stars rehabbing and making their way up through the system.  Not a Yankees fan AT ALL, but witnessing greatness is witnessing greatness, plus Bat Dogs!

I was at Polar Park last night (July 4th Fireworks Game) and saw the AAA WooSox [BOS Red Sox] score 4 runs in the 8th to come from behind to defeat the RailRiders [NY Yankees].

Now, I'm just a simple Mid-Atlantic type, but given the pronunciation of Worcester, are they the "Wu Sox," the "Wor Sox," or do they break all New England norms and just pronounce it how it is spelled? 🤔

  3. They seem to be having a terrible time verifying my card as well.  I got my first two shots at one of the "Mega-Centers," so it has a CDC printed sticker complete with QR code so large that the same center had to put my 2nd shot information on the back (with a similarly sized sticker that I also included a picture of on the app).  My kids and wife had theirs done at local drug stores with the information handwritten in and had theirs were accepted immediately.  I'm not the least bit concerned (the center is in the state that I'm cruising out of, so I'm sure the port personnel are familiar with the layout), and I suppose it makes sense that seemingly any little abnormality cause the system to freak out a bit.

does Royal “amplification “ include some sort of dementia accommodation? Wut. Does Explorer not have accessible rooms or other things for disabled people? I’m so very confused why this would be a deal breaker unless the ship was so out of date that disabled people couldn’t cruise. Also, why not talk to RCCL and ask for a transfer to a newer ship?

Do they store your luggage as a part of the excursion?

I'm not sure if they store your luggage? We wouldn't have luggage other than a stroller.

I think there may be a crossed wire here?  I'm guessing that @Ksucat is assuming this is an Oasis cruise that uses Port Canaveral as their embarkation/debarkation port.  I've seen the KSC tour/Airport transfer excursion offered on ships that end at Port Canaveral.  In August, Oasis is still sailing out of Bayonne, so Port Canaveral is just a regular port stop.  From what I'm hearing, you may have dodged a bullet here anyway, @RCIfan1912.  Oasis arrives at the pier so late in the day that people's trips to KSC have reportedly been very rushed.

Greetings, The decorations are put up for you and are really a nice touch. I’ve purchased them for birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. One of the nice things I like about them is they put a magnetic sign on your door that helps me find my room easier. Also they usually have two wire picture holders that hang from the ceiling and a frame you can use when you get home to display your pictures. The picture holder wire also has a magnet so I put them on my fridge when I get home. Hope that helps and enjoy your cruise!

This was incredibly helpful, thank you so much!

  7. So, a quick question about the restaurant at the Coco Cay Beach Club.  I've seen photos, and it looks lovely, which led me think: what is the expectation regarding attire?  I mean, it's a beach club, so I know we're not looking at "smart casual" or anything, but should you change into dry shorts before coming in?  Is having a towel around your waist okay?  Just wondering how dry you should be, not only for expectations sake, but to be respectful of the next guests following us.  I certainly don't mind changing, but also don't want to take the time to change two pre-teen boys before lunch if it doesn't matter.  Any insight is appreciated!  TIA!

There's a place under Uncle Sam's umbrella where you can get all the free cruises you want.

Not only that, but YEARS before iFly, the Coast Guard offered a similar feature on their Island Class cutters.  With berthing up near the bow of a ship that rode like a cork, when you were pushing through rough seas you could find yourself suddenly awake hovering above your rack for a hot second.  Good times in the "anti-gravity chamber!"

We're planning on doing this on our cruise in October 2022.  Has anyone done it?  My main concern is the prospect of being "assigned" to a Jeep with people we don't know, as the "IMPORTANT" notes state "Parties of three guests or fewer will share a Jeep."  Normally I wouldn't care, but I wonder how it's decided who will drive . . .  My BH has back issues that will prevent us from riding ATVs

Different port and company, but I did a similar tour in Cozumel.  My wife & I were paired up with another couple in a jeep, and the groups were basically left on their own to decide the driving/seating location situation. In our case, we had a manual and I was the only one in the jeep who could drive stick, so that settled that decision.

Just to be clear the time is not a boarding time.  It a check in time to arrive at the terminal for the wellness check.  The ship will almost certainly not be boarding at 10am and probably not boarding at 10:30am.

There will almost certainly be waiting time in the terminal until the ship boards.   Nonetheless 10am or 10:30am are great early times to secure that will allow you to be among the first to board once CBP determines the ship can commence boarding which could be anytime but typically before noon.

Absolutely.  I was using check in and boarding time interchangeably, which of course they are not!  Thank you for clarifying that!
