Probably because the Caribbean islands don't necessarily want to open their borders to tens of thousands of travellers coming through - and likely bringing Corona Virus with them.  They do not have the capacity in their health care systems to deal with a significant outbreak on the islands.   Just a thought?

I've had this brand in a Grand suite (liberty) as recent as 2019. It's a good one and I always throw the daily refills in my bag so I have a week's worth to take home. I have super dry skin, so I'm generally pretty picky about the washes I use.  For a few uses, this works fine and isn't too drying. The hand bar is a different story and I highly recommend bring a bottle of liquid soap from the dollartree instead. Can't speak too much to the shampoo and conditioner save for scent as I've only used those on synthetic wigs >.>

    Yes. Yes. Yes.
Never underestimate travel delays, especially when airlines have cut back on flights due to lower demand.

Whether you're boarding at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m., a relaxed morning in the departure city is ALWAYS better than rushing around an airport or three. Airline delays happen all the time for many reasons - I once had a flight from Memphis to Cincinnati delayed by three hours because the first flight of the day on that plane was impacted by fog in Portland, Maine and each subsequent flight was pushed a little bit later because of gate availability, etc.

Agreed. I always book refundable as a result of COVID.

Because of this deal, the mom and I booked an 8-night in Sept '21 in a GS.
Thanks to the double (double) points, we'll literally double our current amount and be 1 Suite 7-night away from Diamond. ^_^ and here we thought it would take us FOREVER to get there!

Driving to the port is something I started tossing around even before the pandemic, just to save on the stress of luggage weight limits. Coming from Chicago, we have to fly to any port, and so far our favorite ports are in Florida.
To Florida, according to Google Maps, is just over 20 hours on ideal traffic - and we aren't the most used to long road trips so we would split this over 2 days just to be safe. Which means two days of food, two hotel stays (because we'd probably aim to still get there a day early), gas and toll costs. *shrug* It's still an idea, and if by the time of our next booked cruise things haven't worked out for the better, it may be the more comfortable option.

    Yeah you do!
And it is sooooo great! Being able to enjoy not only the main Room service menu but also the Main dining room menu for all 3 meals means you can get some great food in your room while resting or getting ready to head out.

Yes! I have a random $100 on my Nov 2021 and $75 on Jan 2021 that was just added. I had completely forgotten about my May 2020 125% OBC that was never applied anywhere and just called to get it added to my CP. Now my Oasis Nov 2021 is fluuushhh with 1k of OBC. ? Let us be really sailing by then please!

CrimsonCruiser reacted to twangster in Value of C&A Diamond status
Diamond is the single most important or meaningful level within the Crown and Anchor Society.   You gain more in this achievement compared (relatively) to any other level.
Diamond Plus has some small incremental benefits that worked out nicely for my needs but nothing like the incremental gains from achieving Diamond.
That Diamond matches to Elite on Celebrity is another factor that makes Diamond more important to folks who sail both lines.
Having said all that be cautious chasing status unless you don't plan on taking more cruises ever.  Spend money on vacations that have meaning to you.  Diamond will happen on some next cruise and once achieved it will be there for the next cruise and the next cruise and the next cruise after that.
The Panama Canal remains to be one of my best cruises ever.  It's an amazing destination with incredible history and an accomplishment we'll likely never see the likes of again in our lifetime.  If you can't make it work this time there will be more opportunities at some point on Royal or Celebrity.  The canal transits on Millennial look just as interesting to me although Radiance class does have the open helipad which should be awesome during the canal (but it will be crowded).
Given the length of a typical canal cruise you might want to level up before boarding a cruise through the Panama Canal so you can enjoy the benefits for the full two weeks.  Diamond status isn't achieved until the cruise is over and the points are added to your account so I'd be tempted to reach Diamond before boarding a Panama Canal cruise.

We have 100 night booked in 2021, all in suites.  Not sure how the “C&A discount” clause is going to affect them.  We rarely use the C&A discount anyway.  Some random promo discount usually pushes the C&A Discount out. Many of these bookings are casino comps so no C&A discount was applied.   SO...if all of them Sail and are awarded an extra point, we would accumulate 300 points in 2021.  We currently need 190 points to make Pinnacle. It’s looking good !

I wouldn't worry too much about not having your luggage before dinner. RC knows that it may take up to 10 pm to get all the luggage out to people so the first night in the MDR is casual - even says so on the cruise compass!
Just don't wear your swimsuit in, and you'll be fine.
Alternatively, packing simple clothes in your carry on will help alleviate some concerns. I often throw a hard-to-wrinkle sun dress in my carry on bag so I can swap into that.

These have been around since Dec 2018 when I first was a C&A member on a second cruise.  They are offered on all ships from what I understand.  You should get a letter in your stateroom when you board or shortly after with this information.  If you do not, ask your stateroom attendant or it's possible for the bar's to print them out for you on a receipt though it's less clear what they are compared to the letter.  What twangster posted for Gold is what we saw on our 1/5/2020 FOTS sailing.

Went on Enchantment in 2017 after having done Freedom in 2015. We didn't know at the time of booking that the ship was SO much smaller and different than Freedom class so it was a bit of a shock to not have a glowing purple promenade.
TLDR: From what I remember, it's not a bad ship. It was well suited to us doing a very chill cruise where nothing felt hurried or urgent. Not the most fun but not bad.
I would say the thing I disliked the most was that some entertainment took place in the base of the centrum. Pro: we could see something fun happening as we walked to our rooms. Cons: we were so far removed from the entertainment, often looking down only at people's heads, and there were no seats around the upper floors to really take a pause and enjoy what was happening. The Suite service was much less than on Freedom with our concierge often not leaving any voicemails about the next day's port or reminders to come by and partake of the lounge. In fact, on our first visit there, it felt like we were in her way even though it was open and serving snacks....

I was on the Enchantment last March... and I HATED IT! I can only speak for my experience... Staff was nice, yes.. but that was about it. It is definitely an older ship- and it showed.
We were in a grand suite- and it was not worth it. Seas were a little rough- so everything squeaked, rattled, opened, etc. I got so little sleep. Doors and drawers kept opening, you could hear the wind through the sliding door. There was a constant knocking noise... exhaust smell in the room for 2 nights.. it was rough.
Lots of stuff really "used" looking or broken.. Soda machines constantly out, ice cream machine constantly inop.,  equipment outside was very worn, such as ping pong tables and trampoline jump, etc.
Was extremely disappointment when I let my kid go to the Kid Adventure thing- that he asked to call to me to pick him up and they told him no... so he was sitting in a corner completely bored for almost 2 hours because they would not let him call me..
So, for me--- I would NEVER use Enchantment again...  It was not worth the money that we spent.
Sorry for the rant.. makes me mad every time LOL It was supposed to be a great trip for my sons 9th bday- and it wasnt.
Going on the Harmony this March-- hoping for a better experience  ?
