YOLO !!!
Love the Anthem. Catching the bumper cars with no lines with my BIL we went around almost a dozen times. Super fun. Like I was back at Rocky Point Park...

It’ll be interesting to see what happens since we booked in January 2020 for an August 2021 sailing, then L&S to and August 2022 sailing….then we decided to upgrade our cabin from Inside to Balcony in December 2021.
If you have the same booking number from Jan 2020 now, you should get double. Check if your room upgrade was a cancel & re-book as this may be your only concern.

Yes, and Matt's article has all the info you need.

Back to the Suite Solo question...
Disclaimer: I have never sailed solo and only once is a suite. But seems to me that Suite Solos are not getting their fair share! If you go Solo (normally 2x) and you pay for a Suite (normally 2x), then why shouldn't you get 4x points? What am I missing? Is there a steep discount in pricing or something I don't understand messing with the point assignment? Thanks in Advance...

Going solo in a cabin gets double points*
solo in a junior suite gets triple points
I thought: Solo = Double Points; Suite = Double Points; and Solo in a Suite = Double Points x Double Points = 4X points.
So as an example for a 7N Solo in a Suite = 28 points.
Is this correct? Or am I missing something?

@Dani Marie Welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog Forum.
Sure! You can even take away a full pizza with you (pepperoni is my favorite) to share and/or eat elsewhere. Two weeks ago on the Ovation we brought a free full pepperoni pizza into the Pub where they sell food and drinks - it was not a problem.

If you are booked for the early seating and miss your time my understanding is that no you can not go at another time (MTD or late seating). You’ll have to eat at one of the other free restaurants or pay for a specialty dining restaurant.
@RogerC1 Do you have experience with this? I have never seen this happen. My understanding is if you miss your first seating your can get a dining-room walk-up reservation (subject to availability and any existing lines).

I would always pay the prepaid gratuities amount because not only does it go to the MDR, but employees working at Windjammer and other food areas.
I think there is confusion between pre-paying gratuities (before you cruise) and pay as you go gratuities (during the cruise) on a day-by-day basis. The 18% auto-pay gratuities are required by everyone, unless you argue against it. And arguing against it is a whole other story and probably a whole different thread.

We turn Diamond on the 2nd night of our British Isles cruise next month!
@whitsmom Ooo, what BI cruise do you have booked? It seems to me that Celebrity and other cruise lines have better BI itineraries than Royal.

I for one love that proposal, but may I suggest 6 free drinks for Diamond?
We reach diamond status in the middle of our Sept cruise.
Sure, we can make up whatever we want. I was trying to hold the line set by my predecessor Michael Bayley...

@OCSC Mike Agree. I do find it a bit odd that going from Emerald to Diamond gets you 4 free drinks, while going from D to D+ and D+ to P only adds in 1 free drink at each tier. Since the requirements to reach the upper tiers is exponential shouldn't the rewards be too?

The current price is $165 PP for our November sailing on the Anthem OTS. Not sure there is anything there worth $330. We have the drink package and have enjoyed the free beaches/pool on past visits. Am I missing something or does anyone else truly feel that this is a must?
I can see trying it once if you think you might like it - then decide if future CBC visits are worth it for you. Yes, prices are way up from what we first paid. Keep on top of Cruise Planner re-pricing in case of a sale.. My wife loves it there and so I will pay to go every chance we get - but this is us, not you...

Enjoy your cruise!!!
We are Fjording B2B on Anthem next MAY (14th & 21st) - can't wait to hear your story...

This is also the point in this thread where I remind everyone don't take investing advice from anyone on the internet. None of us are professionals and there are risks with investing.

@LaurieByrnes Welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog Forum!
We don't bother returning with leftovers. But I carry water all the time in my backpack (which does get scanned) and can't remember having a problem. I sometimes take it off the ship to have with us, not use it, and return with it. Other times I have purchased resealable plastic soda bottles on shore and brought them back in my backpack with no problems. Packaged snacks purchased ashore should not be a problem. Again put them in your bag and have them scanned. Don't be walking in with them in your hands. A half filled water/soda bottle in your bag should not be a problem.

@PatsFanBrian Coco Beach Club: My wife says the steak they serve for lunch w/ aioli sauce is the best steak she has ever had. And I usually enjoy the lobster as I never usually get to eat that for lunch. Yum...

Btw carnival would be less than 1 year!
That is assuming that Carnival can recover before it goes out of business!!!
I bought my 100 shares of CCL and RCL last year during at good prices and now I'm negative with CCL. Ben reading a lot about how much trouble Carnival is in now. Truth is I have not cruised on Carnival since 2012 when we are on their first cruise out of Boston on the Glory. That cruise was a mess. We couldn't board until about 2AM due to a bunch of issues. We vowed to never cruise on Carnival again. So I am not sure why I bought the stock. Trying to strike it rich I guess...

We have, in the past, booked at the Next Cruise Desk then transferred the booking, within 30 days, to a TA.
@Moby Dick Agree here. Book with NC and as part of the booking, have them assign it to your TA right then. I seem get the most OBC and best deal that way...

@teddy Yes, can you tell us if your reservation number now is the same as when you booked in Jan 2020?
