What RC could do is just take over the route of the old Pullmantur Cruises. The cruise line made money in 2019 and they have a market for it. RC  could just start a new  cruise line for Spain owning it 100% with the 3 ships and the one that they were going to tranfer in 2021

I agree but unlike FL. The Governor in NY has no problem enforcing this. the Port auth. controls the Major Airports and they will ensure people follow the  Quarantine

If Florida would have followed New York's example, they would not be in the predicament they are in now. New York was the highest and now is the lowest state in numbers as WE New Yorker's listened and were directed by a great Governor who got us through the rough time. The Governor in New York wants the ports open again but that is not his call.

That is one FAST ship!

Just an idea but given all this infighting between various states in the US would it not be a good idea to follow the old Soviet Union and break up into smaller independent countries? 
Imagine 50 separate countries where previously there was only the one! 
Donald could build big walls dividing each country so there was no movement between them without going through check points and passport control. 
It would certainly make the world serious live up to its name more ? 

And i thought Brexit was a nightmare ????

Also the NY governor is taking the whole pandemic seriously, unlike Florida.

The only thing I can say about this is.... I hope due to the age of the ship is the reason the getting rid of them.... Maybe RC will give them newer ships so they can be a stronger company after this is all over.

There are approximately 80,000 cruise ship employees and 150,000 cargo ship employees. CALL TO ACTION:
Firstly, we need the CDC and international port and health authorities to review its cruise line onboard restrictions, to consider how long they have been at sea with little to no exposure, and to loosen up on their requirements of the cruise lines. If they do not do this and they do not bring all cruise ships to at least a level 2, more lives will be lost as crew members lose their ability to cope with the isolation, loneliness, and depression until they can be repatriated. CDC is not treating each ship as an individual, nor recognizing the efforts of some ships that have not had cases and have submitted reasonable action plans for Covid-19.
Secondly, and URGENTLY, we need an international ruling that mandates all countries to accept their own citizens back into their countries regardless of current border restrictions. The blatant refusal of a country to repatriate its own citizens is appalling, it is tearing apart families and causing severe mental health issues (that will eventually become their country and their health systems problem).
Lastly, we need for CDC to lift some of the travel restrictions in place and to enable cruise lines to send crew homes on commercial flights via. The crew have been better isolated, better monitored with their multiple temperature checks per day, and they are living in much more sterile environments than anyone on land. The USA is already allowing commercial flights and international flights are resuming again. Yet, CDC is treating cruise line crew members like an entirely different species.

I disagree that RC isn't trying or isn't communicating it.
The issue is the main stream media rarely, if ever, reports on it. They are quick to post a "disgruntled" cook's FB post as evidence of a vast conspriracy against the crew, but when the CEO of the cruise line says they repatriated 10k and working on the 20k remaining, zero mention by the media.
The result is the public (you/I) don't see the concerted effort going on. Nevermind the massive hurdles they face by insanely difficult government restrictions to get people home that has created a legal quagmire.
Unfortunately we live in a word of headlines, with few bothering to read the article.

@Matt will have to decide his/her fate.  Since his posts aren't violating any of the rules for posting, it's up to us to consider every article with a critical eye.

And not all crew members share the same sentiment.  I've been following Riley's YouTube.  He's from Alaska and has been stuck on Quantum.  They ended his contract during the shutdown and he isn't getting paid, but he's keeping a great attitude!

I don't think there's much need to read between the lines.  The lines themselves are pretty clear to me !  This cannot be good for their stock or their precipitous position in the industry.  For me....if I had any money in pending reservations, based on this statement, I would be doing everything I could to get my money out NOW.  I don't know if NCL has a version of Cruise With Confidence or not (I haven't followed their saga) but I would expect that there may be increased activity there, if they do.

Not surprising. I think every cruise line will have challenges filling ships for at least a year after they start sailing again. Partly because they may have to deal with ongoing port restrictions that limit who chooses to sail with them, partly because of the PR black eye they’ll need a long time to overcome, and partly because they have so many ships already.
Long as I get to try out Odyssey eventually, whenever she comes to NJ, I’m good. ?
