That is my point, hard to criticise a countries rules with those numbers, something is working. And basically all those are returned travellers in quarantine.

Well the Singaporeans are the only ones cruising this year and that is due to zero case numbers. So I guess they do matter! ?

In Australia 95% of our covid cases are returned overseas travellers in enforced hotel quarantine. These people test positive days after they return the problem being the incubation period of the virus.
This is a big problem for the return of cruising. There is no way even through testing to stop it getting onboard where cases are so numerous in the community. No amount of mask wearing and social distancing can stop the spread onboard.

But even with these controls in place we are seeing days of over 3000 deaths from covid. Those numbers make it the number 1 killer in the USA.  Not only this heart disease is a build up of many years of things and doesnt kill you in a week.

3000 dying a day and people rejecting the vaccine because a couple of people have had non fatal reactions. Makes sense and explains everything.

No, just supports the awfulness of this virus and makes you wonder what may occur if the world did treat it as another flu.

Sure use 2020 as a timeline for your point but fact is currently COVID is the no 1 killer in America. 3880 in the last 24 hours and a quarter of a million cases. No amount of measures is going to allow cruising or normality in general to return without a succesful vaccine or herd immunity is reached.

WE WILL PERSEVERE!!! My husband got his Monday (Moderna) and mine will be in a week and a half (Pfizer). Husband still has two eyes and all four limbs!!! Lol!!! If we notice any differences, I will let you all know! Both of us are in medical and cannot wait to be vaccinated. I am so curious what the new guidelines for cruising will be!!! We are very hopeful that we will be able to see safe cruising by EOY 2021!!!

Sending you all happy thoughts and virtual hugs!

It can change in Australia because the virus has been all but wiped out here. Only cases are returned citizens in hotel quarantine and has been that way for a month. I went and watched a sporting event yesterday in a 40000 stadium, no social distancing needed, no restrictions, no masks. Domestically we have freedom but internationally we need the vaccine.

Very true, anyone thinking cruising will be starting in the USA in the first half of next year are overly optimistic. Singapore averaging less than 20 cases a day of late.

The thing here is that there really is no virus other than those in enforced hotel quarantine on return from Overseas/. Winter wont be an issue as long as the philosophy stays the same and borders remain shut. However that is 6 months away.
We have full stadiums at sporting events, virtually no limits to capacity at bars and restaurants and no need for masks and our economy is on a steep road to recovery.. In fact aside from general caution and some social distancing measures we are at a reasonable level of Freedom and normality. The problem we have is we cant move ahead until the world catches up.
Our main issue for starting up cruising again is the crew. and where they will come from.

Rumours are abound of Royal looking to start as soon as possible with some small off season domestic cruise because of the likelihood that Alaska is a write off for 21 but perception is still pretty negative from the outspoken ones in the public,

We get your point but who is going to be cruising from these other countries. How can international travel involving the USA even be considered when there is no clear control of COVID. Over 200k cases again today, there is no chance of cruising until these numbers drop significantly. Freedom of movement unfortunately is this viruses biggest ally.
