On the last formal night, I will put away as much of the Baked Alaska as they will bring me.

And I will second @CrimsonCruiser on the love for the French Onion soup. I've had it lots of other places, but it just hits different on a cruise.

Might not be a bad idea for a blog post/reference page for the future. Uber/GPS addresses for every port.

WesKinetic got a reaction from Jim the Titan in Sugar free desserts?
Just looking ahead to a cruise I have in a few months, the MDR sugar-free offerings are:
Pear and Blueberry Cobbler Peach Shortcake Coconut Layer Cake Dark Chocolate Custard Profiteroles Pineapple Sunshine Cake Cherries Jubilee Those are just the ones specifically advertised as "no sugar added." There may be other options available and the menu could conceivably change between now and your cruise. But this has been kind of a "standard" menu for some time now, so that should at least give you an idea. There is always at least one of these on the MDR menu, as well as several options in the Windjammer.
I travel with family members who are diabetic and they've never missed a dessert yet.  😀

Given how packed the elevators can be on disembarkation day, depending on what floor you're on the only potential downside is if you have anyone with mobility issues who might have trouble navigating stairs with a bag. But otherwise, it is definitely a much easier option in my opinion.

This isn't always the case but, generally speaking, Playmakers opens at 10:30ish on sea days and 1:00 pm on port days. The bar is open until 1 am, so you might be able to catch at least some of the replay. (Be sure to eat ahead of time--the bar is open, but they stop serving food around 11 pm.) The ESPN access in the rooms on Royal Caribbean ships is always wonky (sometimes you get regular ESPN or ESPN2, sometimes just ESPN Caribbean), so even then I can't promise you'll be able to get it. I was on a cruise last spring with a friend who got an internet package for the express purpose of streaming a race he really wanted to watch. 😄

Those three were so good on our Alaska trip in May that I made sure to get them again on our S2S in July. NSA not required for my health, but some of the NSA desserts are better than many of the "regular" desserts, IMO.

I am pleased to report that the Bourbon was WELL STOCKED onboard Quantum of the Seas last week!
One hiccup that I had on Day One is that ONE BAR did not have Buffalo Trace. The bartender told me that they would have it the next day as they had not yet received their restock yet. All other bars I visited that day did have it.
For the duration of the Cruise, all bars we visited had Buffalo Trace (YES!), Maker's Mark, Bulleit, Bulleit Rye, & Jim Beam. I don't recall seeing Four Roses, but I was also not seeking it out.

You can see all of your account charges in the app. It will show you where each purchase was made, but doesn't list the specific drink and will show each transaction as $0.00. So if you are really trying to determine "value", you'll either need to keep your own list of what you actually bought or just figure an average based on what you like to drink and multiply by the number of drinks showing in your account.

They're strict in the sense that the computer system dictates it. If you want to buy a drink, you have to use your Sea Pass card. So, using your analogy, even if your parents said yes and the MDR waiter took your card, when they go to scan it to charge your account, the system will red flag it and not let the purchase go through. So you wouldn't get your drink. It's not like a bar in the US where the bartender makes a choice whether or not to check your ID--your age is already in the computer and it will automatically disallow any drink purchases.

The obvious next question is what if your parents or someone over 21 buys a drink and gives it to you? I don't know how strict they are in enforcing that kind of situation but, according to Royal Caribbean's policies, they have host of possible options if you got caught, ranging from cancelling the older person's drink package to disembarking anyone involved. I'm sorry to be Captain Buzzkill, but I'd say this is a case in which the risk is definitely not worth the reward. But definitely enjoy yourself in Bermuda. 😀

Yes, even if you haven't linked reservations ahead of time. I went on a cruise with a group of friends a while back and had no problems. We hadn't linked the reservations , but one person from our party just went to Chops on embarkation day with a list of all of our names/room numbers and was able to make group reservations for all of us.

Like @Snowchaser said, I got lucky last year and got it for $5.99. But that was very much an anomaly--it very rarely comes off of that $8.99 price point. So if you know you want to get it, go ahead and lock it in at $8.99. On the off chance it does go lower, you can cancel and rebook without penalty and get the difference refunded.

Agree with @Reigert2008. The Zoom streaming wifi is usually passable. But even under good circumstances, it's not blazing fast by any means. It generally works for most things, but the service isn't always consistent. So I certainly wouldn't want to count on it for something that was very time-sensitive.

The newer ships tend to have a hidden outlet under the bed, so keep that in mind if you book a new ship.
Invest in some European converters that will turn the European plugs into an extra American outlet.
Sometimes the room phones have USB ports on them for charging, so I'll usually put my phone on that overnight.  I also bring a portable USB charger pack.  Charge that in the room on an outlet during the day when I'm not in the room and I'd have it at night to charge up my device or phone again.

Not quite the same thing, but similar. On our last cruise I accidentally booked the wrong internet package and didn't want to cancel for refund to my card because I would have lost out on the exchange rate and foreign currency fee.
So I booked the correct package in addition to the wrong one and went to the Voom person when we boarded. He was able to cancel the one I didn't want and it immediately posted as OBC. I imagine the same will apply for your meal reservations. That said, as I understand it, this OBC is refundable if you are unable to use it all on board, in which case any that is left over should then be refunded to the original form of payment.

Not just cool, but encouraged. A lot of times, there will be waiters coming around the Windjammer during breakfast taking drink orders or carrying around trays of mimosas.

Serenade doesn't have a 23 hour 59 minutes a day cafe option?  Yuck.  I can't wait until 6:30am for coffee.  That is a sin just like its a sin to wait until after 9am for my first cocktail.
