So long as there is a willing audience and an enabling media, these types of ‘horror’ stories will continue to appear. Unreasonable and self righteous personal drama created by agenda-driven malice. Deflect responsibility by completely ignoring the rules to which she agreed. Screaming loudly in an attempt to drown out her own culpability will not convince anyone of her being a victim. Except those looking for support of their own agenda. Sad.

I like the larger ships…more to see and do…lots going on. Also, I’m not much for excursions anymore. Lots of time spent getting organized and then coming and going. Been there, done that. But I really like itineraries with multiple ports because I like the feel of having the ship to myself while most passengers are gone for the day.
But a big part for me is the convenience. All of my cruises are sailing from Port Liberty in Bayonne NJ, an easy drive from my home. Luckily, we have the Oasis in Sept and Oct and then the Anthem for the rest of the year into next spring.

    Just my opinion.
I’m sitting at bars and in restaurants here in NJ with people who may or may not be vaccinated…nobody is masked.  Surely the children at the next table are unvaccinated and unmasked. I go to stores, entertainment venues, parties, malls and public places where it seems life is almost back to normal and hardly anyone is masked. I understand the reasoning given aboard a cruise ship is because so many are there for so long. But, how long does it take to spread from one to another? If aerosol is the method of spread, then a single breath should be enough. I think the air circulation and cleaning protocols now in place on cruise ships are way superior to those in other land based places. Their future business depends on showing how cruising can be a safe and healthy vacation destination. I am in no way diminishing the terrible effect this pandemic has had on anyone. I say this because some of my friends have as their default position…”how dare you ignore those who have suffered”.  But I think it’s time for a reasonable relaxation of the CDC’s stranglehold…and I think the next couple of weeks will be the time when that happens.
    Just my opinion.

What, me worry? I am vax'ed. Let the unvaxed board, sit at my MDR table, chat beside me in the casino, laugh and cheer at the entertainment right next to me, come visit my SC cabin without a mask, have the same freedoms I have on board. And children are not a problem with CV-19, so do not restrict others for bringing their children. It is a 'Family Cruise Line'.

Before any wonder, I am a father of 9, gained 6 more children when I remarried, 40 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, but not to worry, none are cruising until March 2022, so I have no horse in the unvaxed children issue.

    I understand the risks.
I understood them before I made the reservation, when the CDC had released no requirements.
I understood them when I made the reservation before there was a vaccine.

Some may feel me foolish, but the standard for rights in America has always metaphorically been, "Others freedoms end where my nose begins."

I know, airborne virus. But according to the same CDC that started this dilemma, I am all but no way a carrier or high risk for serious recipient of CV-19.

I am tired of Big Brother looking over my shoulder.

Cape Liberty is our home port as well. We did the 5 day to Bermuda 6 times, so glad they are finally offering a 7-night itinerary. For a while, I felt like my vacation life was on rinse and repeat. We did do the 9-day once, but syncing vacation days each (for a 9 day trip) was tricky a few years ago - easier now I suppose - different work schedules, easier for me to get off "whenever", etc. That said, ironically, because of her work schedule (new job) we cancelled September on Oasis and will fly down to Miami in January to meet her.

While I've only sailed the larger Voyager, Freedom, Quantum, Oasis class of ships, I'd like to experience them all. My preference is the larger ships of course, even though I don't have a comparison never sailing a smaller ship. Reviewing the floor plan and YouTube videos I see enough to deduce while it would be an awesome and intimate experience (with the sea - and those I'm sailing with - friends, family, etc) I'd be in it more for the itinerary than ship. To me, the larger ships are part of the destination.

I have no issue with any Royal ship.  Even those that recently left the fleet were good enough for me.  However it really depends what you are seeking.
I don't need zip lines and bumper cars to have a great cruise.  I can have a great cruise with just the basic or core essentials - pool, buffet, hot tub, casino, theater, salt air, wind on my nearly hairless head.   Some people are looking for the latest whiz bang and there is nothing wrong with that, that's what they seek.
Just this week I booked the now oldest ships in the fleet because there are some stellar itineraries that the newer ships just don't do.   If you seek more diverse itineraries then those older ships are perfect.
Put me on a ship, any ship, and I'll have a great cruise.
So it all depends on what you are seeking and what your expectations are.

With all the alleged variants to come, Americans will finally learn the Greek alphabet and potentially improve their math and physics competency.

Ultimately this has just demonstrated the complete futility of a legal/government system that has become so incredibly bloated that it is non functional.
A government agency puts in place rules, that subsequently may not have been legal but nonetheless shut down an industry for over a year ...
A state government sued said agency asking for an "emergency injunction" ... months later we are still waiting on the endless waffling to end ...
Meanwhile the original emergency that is the basis for the whole thing basically ended and yet the legal battles are still endlessly winding along ...
And there is confusion over why people have increasingly no trust in politicians and lawyers (and the press for making this into a nightmare with conflicting over blown stories).

Good point…I didn’t consider that. All of my changes have been prior to final payment. The CWC seems to cover cabin price drops after final payment (difference will be credited as OBC) but not cabin or category changes.
