You should get a prorated discount as you lose an hour of time on the ship

I'm not imagining a full on skateboarding show, but a larger show where some skateboarding might be a part of it.  Sort of like the high wire in Aqua 80's.  It's a portion of the show, but nobody would call it a high wire show.

Hrmm, I think this is just a show element in the AquaDome, not a new halfpipe for guests.
I say that for two reasons: I'm pretty sure Nick mentioned it when I was in Finland as something they were working on.  But even if I'm remembering that wrong, Nick tweets about his shows almost exclusively.

I’ve seen how bad everyone is at ice skating.  No way they put this on a ship.

I got a couple of future cruises booked. I realize how lucky I am to be able to cruise often and to live close to a port. I’m a glass half full optimist and always look for the best in life and in people.
I’m addicted to the cruise life. I love the service, the crew and the food. Even if a meal may sometimes be a little bit off… it’s understandable that constant perfection is not possible on such an enormous scale. My servers are always anxious to please and will make any change or addition that I request. In fact, on all my cruises, I have never sent something back. But, that’s just me.
As far as the vouchers are concerned, I’m not a big drinker so I never use my six.. Usually two a day.
I like and appreciate the perks of my loyalty status. I mean, they can come and go at any time as the company sees fit to tweak them…either expanding, adjusting or even removing something.
As Super Mario has said time and again…the free WiFi perk that comes with reaching P is a big thing. I agree. I very much appreciate not being charged for WiFi every cruise. I thought the company might have reconsidered that perk post-shutdown when StarLink was added and prices went up. They could have easily justified removing the free WiFi and offering it at a discounted price. But they didn’t.
I don’t really frequent the loyalty lounges except maybe in the early morning for coffee. At that time they are usually sparsely occupied. I’m not a big conversationalist and can usually, if not always, be seen working on my iPad…or reading my smartphone.
    I consider myself ‘low maintenance’…lol.
But, that’s just me…and this is just my opinion.
Hi. My name is Brian and I’m a Cruisaholic.

The more all inclusive a cruise line is, the less that a loyalty program has tangible benefits.
Sail Silversea for example and there is nothing on board to differentiate a newbie to a seasoned Silversea loyalist.
Celebrity is pushing their Always Included fares.  If you buy into that then what are you seeking from Captain's Club?  Free laundry?
Once X went "all in" the loyalty program became much less relevant.

    Some more random thoughts:
--This seems like a rash, not well thought out decision. Like someone woke up from a bad dream and said "these Diamond and above are really causing a drag on earnings"--without really understanding the Diamond and above customers.
--This same person only sees the increased numbers of the top tiers (my last sailing they composed 10% of the total pax onboard--impressive!). This same person is blind to see the growth of Crown and Anchor to 25 million members. Yeah, 25 million members...so imagine getting 400-500 of the top ones any given sailing.
--How much does it really cost Royal to have a Diamond and above onboard? Well, not very much if you think about it. You might chose to multiply your daily free drinks by $14, re-do the math on what the core cost per drink is, let's guess high at $2 a drink. Have you ever looked at your local liquor store for the cost of that wine in your stateroom on embarkation day? Boy, they are good at writing copy for wine. Is it the coffee machine? Of the four of those machines onboard, yes it's the DL machine is the one that has leg day 7 days a week but man-oh-man; could it possibly cost that much??? The appetizers and the Ranger cookies, all ya' alls know you can get them in the Windjammer too, no?
--If you were to interview and ask every top tier member aboard your next sailing; you will find near 100% have a pending upcoming cruise. A better question might be just how many future cruises do they have booked? No doubt these are the best and most loyal customers. These are the people who kept faith and supported Royal when times were the worst.
--The top tier folks consistently tip the crew the best. They also have the least problems and the most knowledge of how to have a cruise vacation. Relative low maintenance and give the crew benefits Royal doesn't have to pay for.

At the end of the day, Royal is going to do what they are going to do. Our small voices will have no input. But if you are concerned about what changes may/may not be coming, I'll tell you I am finding increased solace in the recent wise words of our good friend @twangster "Royal Caribbean and I have a business relationship" As much as I might not like it; Twangster is very, very correct. Thanks bro!

Not to sound cynical, but the only way they would merge would be to move the goalposts farther away. No way are they going to make it easier for more people to get more perks.

I only concern myself with the location of my next beer on vacation. If you have to concern yourself with random people’s attire on vacation then you are doing life wrong. Hit the reset button and grab a pina colada.

I think we are just in a different era of time. 50-60 years ago people got dressed up to go anywhere. Men wore suits outside of the home most of the time. 25 years ago most workplaces still had very strict dress codes. Now, a lot of successful entrepreneurs and/or CEO's under 40 wear only hoodies. Things change and that's just the way it is.
I still dress up somewhat but not to stuffy. I care more about someone's attitude than what they are wearing. I'd rather be cruising with kind hearted, fun loving onsie pajama wearing folks than a bunch of suits treating staff and fellow cruisers like crap.

It really doesn't bother me with what everyone wears (such as PJ pants, shorts or similar) in the dining room, shows and such places.  Once they set down, you don't really see that anyway.  It doesn't change how much a enjoy my meal or the show.
