Thank you.  Was wondering if a priest was onboard and wanted to make it publicly known, would a place like guest services have that information for possible daily masses.

Generally this only happens if it is organized ahead of time as a group or such. Facilities are made available for 'self led' religious services so if a religious leader was on the ship and wanted to lead he/she could certianly do so but it is not a regular thing. I believe 15-20 years ago Catholic/Christian services were a regular thing on cruises but no longer. Perhaps they were not well attended or perhaps in the spirit of inclusivity they decided not to hold any as people of other faiths would be left out.

I believe your best bet is as @HeWhoWaitsadvised and try to find a service close to port.

  2. If you are loyal to Royal your options are Quantum and Ovation out of Seattle or Radiance and Serenade from Vancouver. If your only cruise experience is Oasis then going from that to Radiance or Serenade will be a shock. These 2 ships are excellent sight seeing (and relaxation) ships but offer little else in the way of activities and entertainment. Quantum and Ovation offer many activities and entertainment options. However, because of their larger size they cannot get as close to the glaciers. You could sail quantum or Ovation for the big ship experience and then book an excursion that takes you right to a glacier for a ‘best of both worlds’ experience....

Yes, agree.  We need to know if we are to be helped in some way, or thrown off the ships to fend on our own [for re-entry into the USA].  One way or another.  Otherwise, how can we plan?

You need to make your own plans. As a Canadian I have been dealing with this on the US side for my last cruises.

There is a company (Empower Clinic) contracted to do testing at the Vancouver cruise terminal. I’m not sure if the cruise lines will assist with this or not but my experience on US cruises is that the cruise line just provides a link to the shore side testing company and it is up to you to make an appointment and pay. I had a look at the company’s website and it is quite pricey ($130CAD) for a rapid antigen test. If you are flying home from YVR I recommend getting tested there as it is considerable cheaper ($79CAD) for the same test.

On a side note, I am shocked that the US still has the requirement for a negative test to fly home. It’s highly unusual for Canada to remove a restrictive measure before the US.

I got the email for Vancouver cruises. No changes compared to the rest, but unfortunately no mention if they're helping with the currently required USA re-entry testing.

They haven’t been helping Canadians with re-entry testing since December so I doubly they are going to do it the other way

    Hello Guys!

I live in Brasil and there is not a state/province to fill in guest informations. Since I have to select one, I`m wondering if I can select randomly one state or this can be a future problem.

There should be one online chat.. it is incredible that there is only one US number to call.

    Please someone help me 😬

Do you not chose Country first? If so, it should recognize if that country doesn’t have states or provinces

This is the 1st time I have heard of carrying medications in original bottles when travelling.   I am on 9 different ones, seems like a lot to carry around 9 pill bottles, maybe more if one is nearly gone.   I just put them in the weekly pill organizer, if trip is longer than a week, I take a 2nd or 3rd weekly organizer that is then vacuum sealed until I start that week. I have traveled the world, 63 countries in just the last 10 years and never had even a question asked.  On the other hand, just a few weeks ago I was traveling, staying about 7 hours away from home when I had my laptop backpack that I keep my meds in stolen from our hotel.   It made for a long day returning home and back the next day, but was so glad to only lose a few days worth of meds rather than the entire bottles.   Insurance will not pay to replace meds not to mention it is a pain to get new Rx for each one.    Reading this though, maybe a good idea for me to pack along a print out of my meds.

My wife is also on a lot of meds and she uses a pill organizer as well. It has never been an issue.

Well it looks like the Royal Caribbean legal department strikes again.  Conflicting information in their online resources.

    From FAQ page:

100% cruise fare refund for you, and your Travelling Party, if any of you tests positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior to the cruise or at the boarding terminal, for cruises departing on or before March 31, 2023.

From the COVID-19 Refund and Cancellations Policy:

For all RCI cruises scheduled to sail between April 1, 2022 and April 30, 2023, inclusive:
    • If you, or someone in your Traveling Party, cancel a cruise booking due to testing positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of embarkation, you and they are entitled to a refund, or an optional FCC, for the cruise fare paid to RCI. If you had close contact with a positive or suspected COVID19 case within 10 days of embarkation, and RCI deems you are unfit to travel, you, and anyone else in your Traveling Party who cancels, are eligible for a refund of the cruise fare paid to RCI, or an optional FCC equal in value to the same.

    Second Conflict:

    Again from the FAQ:

Pro-rated cruise fare refund if your cruise is cut short for reasons related to COVID-19, for cruises departing on or before April 30, 2022.

And then from the COVID cancellations policy:

For all RCI cruises scheduled to sail between April 1, 2022 and April 30, 2023, inclusive:
    • If you, your family members, traveling companions or other close contacts are denied embarkation or reboarding, or quarantined or disembarked during the voyage, due to a positive COVID-19 test or being suspected of having COVID-19, you and they are entitled to a refund, or an optional FCC, for the cruise fare paid to RCI in the event of denial at embarkation, or a pro-rated refund or prorated FCC for the unused portion of your cruise fare in all other cases.

The third bullet point of the FAQ does align with the COVID policy which states coverage for quarantine, medical treatment, and travel home is covered by Royal Caribbean only until April 30, 2022.

Since the information doesn't conflict until the end of this month, not a big deal.  But they should get these two pieces of info aligned to avoid confusion.

The Cruise with confidence program allowed you to cancel a cruise up to 48 hours prior to sailing for ANY (or no) reason at all. I.E. you didn't like the protocols or were not comfortable with cruising due to risk etc.....

What you are referencing here only relates to someone testing positive before or during the cruise.

  8. No rhyme or reason. I am on the first sailing of Radiance next Saturday and the dining prices are just outragous ($229 per person). I am assuming this is going to be similar to a shakedown cruise and you would think dining prices would be lower as they try to get things ironed out but no. Highest prices for 3 dining package I have ever seen on any cruise! Refreshment package is also very pricey. The %off means nothing on the cruise planner.

My question is, are there any advantages to being an adult group on a ship full of kids?  Or are we going to regret this scheduling mistake forever? 😉

I’m not sure there are any advantages lol. The solarium will be your friend. Also don’t eat during the early seating if you can at all help it (or do specialty dining). My wife and I try to avoid school vacation times when cruising but when you are on a ship with thousands of other people your experience largely fall on you and the attitude you approach it with.

I think we are saying the same thing, but to be sure.  The 72 hour PCR/ 1 day antigen test is Canada entry requirements and not a Canada mandated pre-cruise test.  The 2 day PCR/antigen test is the pre-cruise testing that Royal has been requiring all along.

It's all so confusing... I cannot wait for it all to go away...

No testing is required to enter Canada by air or land

    Sorry to hear that.

Many of us have been in this exact position.  It absolutely sucks when it happens.  Unfortunately many cruise lines do it so it's not like you can go running to a competitor and escape this practice.

I will stick with Navigator and pick one of the alternative dates. While not normally a points chaser I do really want the double points from this one after Symphony was cancelled in January. We would have hit diamond on our Radiance sailing this month but because of the Symphony cancellation we now need Navigator to hit it before our 10 nights on Oasis is January.

Does this mean she will be an all weather ship?

On the main page it was also mentioned that Royal is working of some type of event in New York as well after her UK sailing.  It isn't particularly warm in either the UK or New York in the later months of the year so I find it interesting they would launch her from Southampton and are trying to get her into New York possibly after her UK sailings.

Could ICON replace Anthem in New York or be an addition to Anthem in New York?

Interesting observation. I think you are on to something here.
