RCCL will be conducting temp checks, etc. throught the cruise to insure everyone is safe and not only prior to boarding. I believe since your statement ONLY demonstrates that you only care about yourself and not that of your fellow cruisers and not to mention innocent children that will be affected, lets all hope and pray that RCCL's implementation of this policy moves forward since it will be the only way RCCL can protect their loyal cruisers and will deny boarding and passage to those whom cannot demonstrate empathy.

I wouldn’t care if nobody was tested. I don’t believe any company should be able to force any person to do any type of medical test or procedure. If there was cruising this entire time and no test being done I would still be on the ship. I believe if you are the one that is afraid and wants everyone else to be tested, maybe you shouldn’t be on the ship to begin with. Besides, someone could test negative to get on and the next day have it, so what good does the test do anyways???  

I really hope it is not true that they are going to require you to get a covid test to cruise.  I love cruising, but refuse to be forced to get a test to go on vacation.  This is very disheartening news.  
 

My memory is failing me in my old(ish) age, but I know someone on the boards was in a similar situation where their kid was 12 on the original booking and 13 on the L&S date, and they still price protected it at the child rate.  I just can't remember who it was to confirm for you. ☹️

You dont have to keep the same ship.  We did because we wanted to sail out of Galveston.  I would be interested to see how they treat the kids rate since they would be considered adults in 2022.  
We arent sure what our 2 highschool kids will be doing in school in April, Ill just keep them out a week for the cruise and not worry about it.
As far as forgetting 2021, only you can make that call.  We just felt more comfortable letting this stuff pass on down the road before even trying to cruise.   I would definitely contact them and see what available options you have for L&S.  You might get an awesome upgrade shipwise and room wise for your same rate.  Cant hurt to ask!

I'm in the process of Lift and Shifting my Jan 2021 Empress sailing to 2022 Odyssey.  I haven't received confirmation from Royal Caribbean, but the sailing is showing up on my Cruise Planner, so I'm assuming that's a good sign.  The difference between the Owner's Site on Empress and the Owner's Suite on Odyssey is $9200.  Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

We L&S our April 2021 cruise to April 2022.  We stayed with the same ship and itinerary, our rate actually went down significantly.   

We decided to move our 2021 cruise to 2022.  With all of the uncertainty in the air, I would hope by 2022 all of this is behind us.  I hate having to wait that long to get back onboard but I would rather wait than have to change plans again.  I would be very surprised if a cruise ship leaves out of the US this year.

Yes, I moved my March 2021 on Rhapsody in an owners suite to the same basic itinerary in an owners suite on Harmony March 2022.  Harmony is over $5000 more than Rhapsody but I only had to pay $100 difference in port fees.   Sweet deal!!

I just hope they keep the French Onion soup.  I ate that everyday on our last cruise.  Loved that stuff!

Hi @harlipac.  Welcome to the RC Blog Forums.  I have a Nov 1st Harmony cruise scheduled where final payment was Aug 3rd, so I understand RCL wants you to make a decision on your cruise.  I am not sure why you are against a FCC or L&S.  If your deposit is indeed only $100 you are lucky.  You can keep trying to get your money back, and hope in the meantime the cruise is cancelled by RCL.  If you think you are in jeopardy of losing out on your $100 then why not use FCC or L&S to push out your options?  SInce you are D+ I would guess you have a lot of experience in dealing with TAs and RCL.  Maybe by the time you need to use the FCC or L&S the world with be different and you will be in a better position to take advance of those options.
FYI, I was on last Anthem sailing before the shutdown and now may be on one of the first cruises post-shutdown - feels pretty weird.  Anyway, no matter what my next cruise gets me to D+ which I am looking forward to.  I just hope I get to cruise again...

I have to agree here.  7 night cruises, french onion EVERY night, that thick chunk of cheese is just amazing.
