I think it depends on who's wearing the bathing suit. Some folks just shouldn't be seen in a swim suit at all, and others (in my humble opinion) can wear as little as they wish and long as they don't mind dirty old men ( or women - it is 2019) drooling over them!

We had a fun time at margaritaville, it has a nice pool. It’s still inside the secured compound.

My feelings: Order as much as you want, try new things, multiples of any item you really like,  just try to keep waste to a minimum.

I would say who cares! Eat to your heart’s content. Before you know it, you’ll be back at home dreaming of cruise food. Life is too short to worry about if others think you are eating or ordering too much. ?

@WAAAYTOOO is correct..to further expand on that..the Key will have rows sectioned off.  You will show your card with The Key icon on it or a wristband or whatever Liberty decides to do for that sailing and you will have access to that section.  It is first come, first serve and 15 minutes before the show begins they drop the ropes to that section and anyone is welcome to sit there.  You don't have to queue up in the long line to wait to get in but definitely make it there 15 minutes before.  I've also seen folks not want to be considerate in the reserved section to move in to fill in all the gaps so the earlier you get there the more likely you will be able to have your entire party seated together.

Star, Sky and Sea Class refer to suite categories on Oasis or Quantum Class ships only.
    Sea Class is Junior Suites
Sky Class are most suites, with the exception of the top tier suites
Star Class is for the biggest, most luxurious suites.

Make sure to check prices in your cruise planner the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday). I firmly believe that's the day with some of the best prices of the year.

You could go to Playa Mia on your own for $30 USD (no food or drink) plus transportation.  I am someone who avoids ship tours and have been there without a ship tour.  We literally had an extra hour at the beach after the excursions left and we still returned to the ship 90 minutes prior to all aboard.  Playa Mia is also very crowded with 7 ships in especially during lunch.
IMHO, for $55 USD, go to Nachi Cocum.  That is the only place that limits the number of guests to about 100.  It is about $30 pp more (including a taxi) than the Playa Mia excursion but does include lunch and bottled water.  This would really give you a quiet beach day.

Those are acceptable for your guys. In the end dress for yourself, not for others. If it's allowed by RC, others have no right telling you what to wear. If others can't enjoy their meal because people are not wearing what "they" think they should, that's on them.
    Happy cruising!

It's not really RCI's fault, in my opinion.  Galveston is just geographically challenged.    ?
Although I did happen to notice that next year Enchantment will be doing 2 7-night cruises, back to back, out of Galveston with stops in Key West, Nassau and Coco Cay....maybe they are testing the waters.
I live in Texas and absolutely detest air travel, so I love being able to drive down to Galveston and hop on a ship.  But I don't really care so much where it's going as long as it's a cruise.   ?

We were on the same Symphony sailing and had absolutely  no problem with staff. They all seemed to know the Key program. It is unfortunate you ran into some that were not informed.
Did you take advantage of the departure breakfast? It was one of the best meals of the week!

We have The Key Booked on the Liberty sailing out this weekend. I will try to remember to update on this post how it went with the shows for seating and if the crew was familiar with the benefits of the program.

You have the right to remain in your stateroom and keep your wallet closed and secure. Anything you say or do can and will be used by RCI to increase your cruise fare or onboard expenses. You have the right to a mathematician. If you cannot afford a mathematician, RCI will provide one for you because we know math; really, we do.... really . Do you understand the rights you have just paid for? With these rights in mind, do you wish to sign on the dotted line and sail with us?  ? ?

Another one of our favorites is Brining a 3oz size bottle of the dish soap to keep the cups clean. After seven days of being all over the ship no water is going to do that job.

Al Horner reacted to karl_nj in Drink prices? Debating on a drink package...
I've never been able to justify buying the drink packages, at any price.  My bar bill has never been anywhere near what the drink package would cost.
If I do ever buy the drink package, I'm sure I would be able to get my money's worth.  I would have fancy coffee every morning, I would focus on trying the $12 or $13 dollar cocktails, I would get lots of bottled water.  I would consume enough so that if I was paying list price for every drink, I would come out ahead.
But this is not my normal behavior on a cruise.  My wife and I will get a fancy coffee once or twice on a cruise.  And we will use our C&A BOGO coupon for coffee, so we only need to pay for one.  The rest of the time we just drink the regular, included, coffee.  We will also use our BOGO wine/soda/beer coupons.  Generally we will just use those on beers, on sea days.  With the coupon each beer will cost me $3.50.  We generally book balcony cabins, and bring 2-4 bottles of wine onboard.  So our pre-dinner drink will be a glass of our BOYB wine on the balcony.  At dinner we will usually share a bottle of wine, especially if we are traveling with other people.  A wine that is $12 a glass is only $46 a bottle.  5 glasses of wine in a bottle, so $9.20/glass.  After dinner we will sometimes get a cocktail.  At Boleros I enjoy the Caribbean Painkiller.  $9.50.  If I'm on the drink plan, will I feel compelled to switch to a $12 in order to "get my money's worth?"  I've never bought a bottle of water on a cruise ship.  The tap water is fine with me.  I've read tips that say if you are on the drink package to get a bottle of water with every drink, so you can stay hydrated.  Bartenders will also give you a glass of ice water with every drink, and that is free.
I'd rather just pay per drink.  If my consumption habits were naturally closer to the $12/drink level, and I drank cappuccinos every morning, I might feel differently.

I tried to reprice my next cruise with THE (non-MEI-I-paid-her-a-hefty-booking-fee) travel agent a few months ago.  She didn't remotely understand what I was asking and told me I was ineligible.  I decided that the savings were negligible enough that it wasn't worth risking my sanity to get the box of block letters out of the toybox and spell it out for her.  So, yeah, not all travel agents know how/that you can do this.

I’ll second this one, the Doubletree next door or the Hilton across the street (connected by a bridge).  Not sure if you have a preference on hotel chain but if not here are a few items to consider about these properties.
    - Easy access from the airport via the dolphin expressway.
    - They tend to be close enough to the cruise port and the Bayside Marketplace.
    - They tend to be a little less costly than the ones near the Intercontinental.
    - if you are using Uber or taxi and don’t have a car there is a small mall between the Doubletree and the Marriott. Good enough for some small last minute items, if needed, and a few options for dining without leaving the property.
    - All tend to have rooms that overlook the water and can see the cruise port.  So a great way to start the cruise experience.
