I have done 3 gty cabins and never had any trouble.  In fact the locations have been great.  We are doing another in June and I'm not at all worried.  I think this was a fluke and things happen.  We get insurance every time (and now cancel for any reason since Allianz screwed our family out of over $10000 but that's a whole other thread) and assume the best because frankly, the gty cabins save us a ton of money.  Until it goes way South on location or we get turned away, I'm just not gonna worry.  Mai Tai anyone?  Jane

It's about having an opinion outside of the group/masses around here and it's just not allowed. Several of you have just proven it. Why is "I have never had a bad meal on Royal" more valid then those who claim they have had. Maybe those who only have had good meals have the bad taste buds etc? It's such a one sided argument. Can you not see that? Everyones past experiences are valid. Not just the positive ones. All should be taken with a grain of salt. One size does not fit all etc. But the negative reports shouldn't be dissected because they have to be categorized in one of your pre conceived limited views of "complainers are"...
 
 

I completely agree. As I said previously, this is the very first RC cruise of our 15 previous RC cruises that we had an issue with, and was curious if any others on that particular leg had similar experience. Did not expect to set off a fire storm. 

Pattycruise - Have you tried 150 Central? I find that a step above.  The Beef tenderloin for 2 is a great take.

I'm sorry I just don't get it. If someone says they had a fatty piece of beef, they had a fatty piece of beef. Royal Caribbean is not infallible.

I had Jamie's on Harmony a couple of times, and it was amazing. I think for the smaller ships, sometimes the specialty restaurants aren't as good. 

Since I started this topic, I'm reporting back.
Enjoyed our meals at Jamie's Did a luncheon and a dinner. DH liked the crispy squid (the MDR's fried calamari was not good). I liked the eggplant; had the cheesecake for dessert both times: good & plenty. Hubby had the banana split for his desert also good & plenty. Didn't get the meat plank so can't comment on it.

I don't think this should be looked at as a change in GTY policy or a big risk booking a GTY.  This is a one off for circumstances we don't know, but must have been both unforeseen and urgent.
I would also be upset to get this letter, but I don't think we should make it more than it is.

Yes, that was our plan. Walk around Curacao and then Mambo Beach. In Aruba we are going to Eagle Beach, Palm Beach and take the free tram. We plan to book a tour for Bonaire.

We’ve been on 2 different ships and dress was all over the place, but not casual.  Nice jeans and a collared shirt are fine, but there also might be people in tuxes. It’s an amazing meal!  Jane

To answer your questions, bottles of water will cost. My last sailing they were $2.99 plus the 18% gratuity. Soda was $3.50 plus gratuity. I would get the water package if you drink lots of water and will get off in every port. Yes you can also just fill your own bottles up.

It IS officially 1 bottle per adult per room....what you attempt to get on is up to you. I know they say no beer, I brought on a 6 pack of NA beer in my carry on, but they never even checked..could've easily been regular beer. 
I would imagine bars have to give you a glass of water from the soda gun if you ask for one
According to the RC website, Rhapsody DOES have a freestyle machine, Radiance does not. 

I don't think boarding times are any different for San Juan departures. Just the sail away is later due to proximity to the ports of call.

On my five cruises from San Juan Puerto Rico, but all pre-covid, checking is just like all other ports in the 11am to noon range for earliest ones.
The ship still arrives around 7 am and begins disembarkation as soon as cleared, have alway been to airport by 10:30 am.  Biggest concern from San Juan has been those the check luggage for their flights as most airline will not accept luggage until 4 hours before flight departure.  This has been my experiance.

I would guess possibly around 1:30/2pm. Boarding usually is done 90min before departure. So, based on how it works when a ship departs between 4:30 and 5, I figured the whole thing is about 6hrs, give or take.

I think mine are whatever I'm on lol!  I have been on vision, Voyager, freedom and Oasis class and I truly feel like I have things I love and hate about each class.  My last cruise was on Harmony and now I'm ready for a smaller ship.  After a couple of those, I will be ready for bigger again.  I'd like to finally get on an amped ship and try the new pool deck/lime and coconut, and it just never seems to work out with timing and flights.  Jane

Now if Celebrity would move an Edge class ship there,  it would really make things interesting.

Each port operates differently on boarding process.  Currently in Barcelona for my cruise.  Check in was 1130 but boarded ship 10am.  Actually was 1st passenger to board and was at munster station in a flash and had 🍸by 1015am.
Barcelona doesn't even go by check in times and everyone got a number to board after documents verified.
Now i am plopped in solarium with my view of the ocean relaxing for the many days ahead
