My only issue with one a day is the beds that you can’t put away on your own. Like the ones that come down from the ceiling or wall. Is there a key? They’re not going to give it to me so I have to have that bed down until they come, and then they’re just going to leave it down for night time, so I’ve got a bed taking up room over the couch all day. This would bother me.
 We have a room like this next month so I’ll be eager to see how it goes.

I've been on 3 of the 6 StarTrek cruises offered by Entertainment Cruise Productions.  They (ECP) did an amazing job converting the ship into a StarTrek theme, rebranding venues, totally transforming the elevators etc.  The traditional royal entertainment staff is virtually nonexistent as well are the traditional Royal activities.  All are replaced by Trek events hosted by ECP.
The challenge is the price.  Trek cruises are 2X+ more than the same itineraries, but it's pretty clear why.  The Celebs come with a pricetag.

You shouldn't feel like you missed out on anything.  If the minimum bid doubled there is virtually zero chance your bids would have been accepted.

I'm guessing that there were bids above you.  They are giving you a chance to bid higher should you wish.

Yes, we should all do this. It's Royal Caribbeans way to help it's customers save some money. Now you know. Thank you so very much for asking.

I'd be more concerned with a friend of twenty years that is suicidal.  Heck, forget about twenty years, someone is suicidal.  That becomes a priority.  
Once that reality was upon me, my cabin doesn't matter.  The only thing that's important would be that person.  Nothing else matters.

The only thing I see RCCL did that is questionable was to let you board in the first place.  
They gave you a second cabin.  You only paid for one.
RCCL is not responsible for your relationship.
Of all the ridiculous complaints I've seen from first time posters, this one takes the cake.
Suck it up buttercup.  You and your friend ruined your vacation... not RCCL.

I fail to see where any of this is the fault of Royal Caribbean.

Is this your first baby? You'll probably hear every peep even on the balcony. I generally didn't start ignoring mine until the third or fourth came along...

Sorry to hear what you ran into, but if you reconsider, the primary issue you ran into stems from the first sentence you wrote 
Booking a cruise with the cruise line directly is actually a mistake because of miscommunication and lack of service.  
Instead, you'd want to use a good travel agent.

My wife and I are in our mid-50s.   Serenade is one of the ships we really want to go on.

The one theme cruise i have experience with was an entire ship charter, so all bookings were made by the group running the cruise (Entertainment Cruise Productions).  I can't tell if the MORC cruise is the same arrangement or if you can still book through Royal.

Do you read a book on a cruise? Watch TV or movie? Those are distractions too.
If you don't want to use your phone on a cruise, that's totally fine. I respect your ability to get back to basics. But a phone is no more a distraction than any other form of media consumption.

I have been cruising for years - long enough to hit D+ (and then some).  I have not once - EVER done an excursion other than a cabana at CocoCay.  The number of stops does not impact me whatsoever.

If you are on a ship that has freestyle there is Dasani sparkling water and they at least have lemon / lime, and maybe more.

I have never complained to guest services before, but on a recent Voyager cruise, I complained over a dog.  A passenger let her dog roam on one of the lower decks and up and down the stairs.  The dog was leashed, yet loose.  It nearly tripped me on the stairs creating a dangerous situation.  I showed the pictures to Guest Services and they knew exactly who the passenger was and said they would have security talk to them "again".  Super frustrating that the passenger created such a frustrating and dangerous situation.
