We leave out of Athens, otherwise that would have been our plan too.
Your original post says Rome lol Everyone is answering for Rome.

I wonder if individual sailings that meet the 95% vaccinated would get the mask mandate waived.
With school starting back, I wonder if there’s a chance some of the upcoming Fall cruises may actually reach 95%. I guess there won’t be a firm number until embarkation and you still have unvaccinated adults to account for too.
-
So I’m on the 23rd sailing (right after you) and someone in our Facebook group posted we are at 80% but since final payment is this Sunday (and hopefully check in opens) that number may change.
Personally I find 80% hard to believe and have no idea how they got that info. I’ve been mock booking that cruise since March and interior has only been connecting or CP view and ocean view has been “sold out.” Now some forward ocean view have opened.
I was secretly hoping for no more than 70%. I could do without that extra 30%

October of 2022 we plan to fly in and go directly to the port the day before. We’ll spend 3 days in Rome after cruise

Song of America -- way back in 1988 -- honeymoon cruise. They still had midnight buffets...
She’s in Cyprus right now with Harmony and Jewel. Of course name is different now.

Symphony October 16th opened for check in. Now I'm getting cautiously optimistic.
I’m the week after you so hopefully mine will open up soon. Says check in July 25. I’ve already got my passport numbers out and ready to go!!!!

Yikes! Glad we sent ours off as soon as our May cruise was cancelled back in March.

I was on the boat for this incident and now some things make sense. Our cabin was on the 8th deck as well. The elevator wouldn't stop on the 8th deck and when we went via the stairs the door to the staterooms was closed. We opened the door to find crew members on the inside who allowed us to go to our room in the aft section of the boat. When we left the room we went to the hallway and were stopped by crew in the hazmat suits informing us to go around. They were doing crew drills during the day so were weren't sure what was going on.
Did everyone have to quarantine in their cabins? This “rumor” is floating around a Facebook group.

That excursion is not listed in my cruise planner as yet. But I will keep my eye out for it. My husband & kids want to do the helmet diving in St Thomas but that’s not listed yet either.
Do you still have Antigua as a port? It was just replaced with St Maarten on my October Symphony and Antigua has been replaced on several other ships too

Are you on Facebook? There are several really good groups for Rome, Civitavecchia etc. Let me know if you are and I’ll post them here. All kinds of recommendations for tours, transportation, hotels, restaurants etc.

We are booked next May on Radiance Southbound with a 3 day land tour beforehand. Ours is tour 1B Wilderness Express. Tour leaves from Anchorage.

I agree. I don’t see how anyone would know enough about this gentlemen’s finances to say he wouldn’t opt for a Med cruise because it was too expensive.
Because in his interviews I’ve seen, he says he will generally use his free cruise to do Europe/Med etc.
My point was he will likely not spend months on Odyssey in the Med. Maybe I’m wrong. I’ll let you know October 2022.

Antigua has been removed as well.
A Puerto Rican in a Royal Facebook group said that 67% are fully vaccinated or have had one shot

Cancel both and re-book on a sure thing! I know that wasn’t the answer you were looking for BUT it is another option.

I'm sure this has been asked before but can't find an answer. Can we use OBC in the casino? Can we totally cash out any leftover OBC?
I think they take 5%. Hopefully someone will verify as I think we’ll have leftover after our October cruise.
You can use OBC to pay your gratuities also.

Yes wait for a sale. You can book now and cancel and rebook if it goes lower.
I would possibly consider doing the 3 night dining as that’ll get you all 3: Chops, Jaime’s and Izumi. If you stick with. Chops + 1, I’d probably go with Izumi over Jaime’s.
Coco beach club: honestly I don’t think you’ll see it lower than $106. I had it for $90 on a now cancelled cruise and $66 for our first cancelled cruise May 2020. I now have it for $106 but our travel friends laid an egg and missed that sale. It went up to $160. Next “sale” it didn’t even drop. Stayed at $160.

I’d be curious to know if those who have tested positive have flown in versus drive to the port. Obviously not the case with Nassau sailings. Other than the “Karen” who was removed from Freedom (who wasn’t vaccinated) have their been any others? I don’t recall but then again not many sailings yet. It would be interesting to track though. Both our October Symphony and March Harmony we’re driving. Don’t have to fly until May Alaska and next October Odyssey out of Rome. Hopefully things will have settled down by then.
I do fear more cases as cold and flu season arrive and those winter cruises. So many flying in for those.
Heck I’m battling a pretty decent upper respiratory infection right now and I haven’t been anywhere except the Petri dish grocery stores lol (yes, my Covid test is negative)

Song of America 1991. Western Caribbean. Corporate trip my hubby won. Have never looked back although we took a LONG break (1999-2011) when our kids were little. I’m not a fan of cruising with small children. Too much work! We waited to come back until our youngest was 11.

I'm dying to find out if my friend is onboard. He's back to Royal after a 2 year break and he can't tell me what ship he's on yet. (He's an officer) I'm guessing Odyssey. He was with Royal for 20 years and did a little stint with American Queen. Now he's back and my gut says Odyssey. Guess I'll find out soon if it is her. I hope so, would love to sail with him when we do our Holy Land October '22.
Good luck Odyssey. Let's have a great sailing!
