Thanks for the awesome live blog, Matt! I liked this format too. I am super excited about our upcoming sailing on Brilliance. Four weeks from today!!!

Matt reacted to SouthernYankee in Johnny Rockets Express
Probably most importantly as Matt pointed out is that Johnny Rocket's is convenient on the pool deck. On Voyager and Freedom class ships they were not located in the most frequented area. This exposure and accessibility will greatly increase JR sales.

Yes, you can order as much as you like. If you have a drink package, then as long as the wine is less than the drink package threshold ($12 or $13, depending on the ship) per glass then there is no additional charge. Else, you pay the difference. If you do not have a drink package, then you pay for what you order.
There is a menu, but they have a full bar so you can order whatever.
I assume you mean with the drink package. Your only limit, per se, is with which wines per glass come in under the drink package allowance.
Yes, same answer as for the MDR.
For Oasis and Quantum Class, it's $13. The rest of the fleet is $12.

Matt reacted to twangster in outlets on Navigator of the Seas
Outlets were not changed during the refresh.
They remain two North American 110v outlets and one European power port 220v at the desk/makeup area with a shaving outlet in the bathroom.

Go through MEI travel, that is what they do best, problem solving.
Either that or keep calling back to Royal until you get a phone agent that is willing to listen and help.
MEI is a sponsor of this blog and they do don't charge any fees.
I have 6 upcoming cruises all booked through MEI.

Matt reacted to Jess4214 in Adventure Ocean & other activities for children with autism
Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much for your great tips!! On our first day I will go to AO registration and have all my questions ready for them!! I LOVE that RC is so willing to go the extra mile for all its guests. Even though this is our first cruise and we haven't even sailed yet I think this is the start of a loyal RC family!
@Matt Thank you for the great suggestions!! I love this forum!! I've been doing all my cruise research here from videos, blogs, message boards, sample menus, especially the cruise compass... I feel we are preparing so well thanks to royalcaribbeanblog.com THANK YOU for all the tips, hacks, reviews!! WE ARE LOVING IT!!! We're already talking about our next cruise, possibly Autism of the Seas on a RC ship or Symphony.
@Terri Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience with me. I think that's a great idea and I will be sure to follow suit. If we get accepted to AO, we only plan on using them for 1 or 2 times, 1-3 hours max, enough time for the husband and I to catch a show and a drink at the bar or a date night at a specialty restaurant kid free!! It's so good to know these things in advance. Much appreciated!!

I greatly prefer this model. Now I can get my kids a burger without having to commit to sitting down for a meal there. With the convenience of the pool deck, it is perfect for a quick meal on a sea day.

Matt got a reaction from Miznikki2u in Tipping at the end of your cruise
I believe the automatic gratuity is sufficient gratuity to begin with, so do not feel obligated that you have to tip beyond that automatically.
That being said, I tip extra depending on the situation. If we were extra messy, or the attendant really seemed to go out of his/her way to keep things organized then I definitely tip extra.
I know you're asking for a fair price, but it really depends on what you're comfortable with. As I mentioned earlier, I see the auto gratuity RC charges as a good baseline, so I have tipped an extra $20 as a "thank you" for the excellent service.

Matt got a reaction from Deedeelynn in Holland America testing additional charge for two entrees
As someone who regularly orders multiple entrees, this is an awful idea. I get the not wanting to waste, but let's not pretend the galley isn't preparing a ton of food to begin with. Secondly, the portion sizes are much smaller than usual.
It reeks of cost-cutting more than anything, and I sincerely hope this idea dies on the vine.

Think of The Key like first class seats on an airplane. It's not that first class seats are a tremendous value necessarily. Rather, it's a splurge and a way to treat yourself.

I will tell you from experience, get the two rooms. You get separation and an additional bathroom. Have I mentioned not sleeping in same room as your kids?

Why not? It's art and a great way to make their cruise terminal stand out as not just a glorified warehouse.
