  3. Did you check your booking confirmation and/or your travel documents? It may be in a small area on that. If you can’t find it in your documents call back. I’m assuming you booked direct with Royal-if you did not ask your travel agent. another option would be to look for a Facebook group for your sailing and ask in there if anyone is going the land portion snd if they received info.
  4. Whatever they decide, it will be "to enhance our cruise experience". Having just made D+ I really hope they don't do anything drastic until after I've been able to do at least one cruise at that level.
  5. I am not a long time poster, but I am certainly a long-time cruiser! I did not join any travel forums until the past few years when my work schedule became less crazy. My father was in the Navy in WW II, and his love of water meant that our whole family cruised together starting more than 50 years ago! Those were the days--one dinner time, one restaurant, no televisions, no casinos, bunk beds,--it was the ship, entertainment, and ports. I guess it helped that our first cruise went from Venice all the way to the Black Sea for multiple weeks. So, EVERYONE in our extended families after marriage and children has been on a cruise multiple times, many different lines. In fact, I can name at least three or four lines we cruised on that no longer exist! But, we always liked the full-service cruises with all the bells and whistles. This past year brother and I both did different Viking cruises (me-river, him-ocean). Okay, the river cruise boats are so small you can see the whole boat in about an hour! Yes, it is kind of fun and relaxing, but extremely cozy, and it is a week without any kind of fun evening activities (many people just sit at the bar and drink). We took a walking tour every day, as every day is a port. Brother said he missed the non-stop evening activities on Viking Ocean, he missed the art auctions(?!), and also the dress-up night with photographers, although they enjoyed the tranquility. Again, a different port every day. The adults-only did not really affect us, although I am not sure that I would want to cruise on a ship that was more than 50% children. I have to say that depending on my travel mood or interest at certain years, different types of cruises will appeal to me at different times, including destination, cruise line, itinerary, price, etc. Just to be clear, we do many other different types of trips--all inclusive resorts, driving trips, tours, etc., etc., but I 100% agree that the serenity of the ocean and the glorious sunsets, the night sky full of stars, and all the great ship activities make us totally loyal to the cruise experience. I like RC just because of the big ships and all the crazy activities (husband ALWAYS attempts the rock-climbing wall!), and it is fun to hear what is happening currently on this forum. Last Summer we cruised the Med on Princess, this Summer back in the Med on Cunard, next Spring on RC in the Caribbean, and in-between several other types of travel and adventures (ski trips, tours). We usually do an A-I resort every few years or so--we have great prices and great connections here on the East coast. The truth is, I love to travel, and I love to cruise, but remember, variety is the spice of life, so don't be afraid to try different travel experiences whenever you need a change! The ocean will always be waiting for you to return. Bon voyage!
  6. As others have said, the sky is the limit on scenes, backdrops, or impromptu sittings/settings. You are the customer, tell them what you want. Every time I've taken a photo home, I am given the choice of prints or digital. If you have purchased a digital package, they are there to make money. If you want it printed, it will be printed. It may or may not be an upcharge, depending on the purchase.
  7. It's a combination of both. Typically when boarding or in the evenings before dinner, you can get a photo done in front of a backdrop. At ports they offer them outside in front of the ship, they also go around to dinner tables. Sometimes they will offer them in front of a staircase, sail away party, on the promenade, or other places around ship. Prints or digital depends on the package you select, read the details.
  8. So wait the photos for the photo packages are all in front of fake backdrops? The way they make it sound on the website is that they are all over the ship and it even says "ride" photos (I assuming zipline or the abyss) Can anyone let me know so I can cancel my photo package if I need to? Also I still can't get an answer as to whether it is just digital or if I can have any printed (on the ship) instead of digitally.
  9. Rhapsody out of Puerto Rico, southern Caribbean port intensive cruise on November 10-17
  10. If you had two prime certs, you could combine them for a higher category, if you don't want to waste on a shorty.
  11. Having been on Oasis last year and plenty of other Oasis class ships with 150CP: I can say there is no six-course menu. There is Chef's table with multiple courses and wine pairings. But 150CP has a pretty paired down menu and in some instances, they don't allow you to order more than one entree.
  12. Call whoever you booked your sailing through. Call your travel agent if you booked through them, or Royal Caribbean directly, if you booked directly through them.
  13. Every time we cruise and I see the photo prices in like "what a F-ing racket". I mean talk about profit.
  14. If I want to change my MDR dining from my way dining to a set time, how do I go about that?
  15. $100K and you still have to drag around a Freestyle cup for the soda machines.
  16. This happened to us on Mariner last summer. We had rainy weather for much of the trip. The last day at sea was very nice. Everyone was excited to finally have some sunshine. Not long after the pools opened, it was shut down for the same reason. It stayed closed all day. So the entire ship was down to one pool for families (not including the adult pool). It was so crowded. Everyone was really upset by this. I really wish people would be more careful about this with their children.
  17. The entire Oasis class are large ships marketed towards families, too.
  18. I guess thats one down side to a large ship marketed to families. Statistically, there'll be mroe people taking their little kids to the pool whrn they should not.
  19. Yesterday
  20. We saw DSB on Anthem a few years back. They are really good. We went multiple times!
  21. Multiple (bordering on endless) Facebook posts week after week, that at least one pool on Icon has been closed every single day of every cruise. This is due to parents allowing children who are not potty trained to go in the pools. Apparently many times it's the main large pool. Once it happens it's closed for the entire day to clean. People please don't be selfish. If your child is not potty trained, stick to splash pads. It literally takes a pool for 7000 people out of commission for the entire day. Selfish and ridiculous.
  22. But somehow not nearly has hovering as they were before the shutdown.
  23. Hello. I will be join the Royal Caribbean Blog group cruise in Oct 2025. While I know it is over a year away, I will be celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary on October 10th while on the cruise. We actually celebrated our first anniversary on Oasis in 2011. So I got to thinking, maybe take my wife to 150 Central park for dinner like we did for our first anniversary. In 2011, we dined there and enjoyed the 5 or 6 course meal with a wine pairing for each course. My question is, do they still offer a wine pairing with the meal, or do they have a standard wine menu? If they still have it, how much is it extra? In 2011 my wife and I went in thinking the price was gonna be one thing and ended up spending over $300 for the both of us. Let me know your thoughts.
  24. Photographers on the ship are very similar to salesmen on a car lot. They are there if you want them to be or not.
  25. Would agree on the "hand-me downs". But will take what ever we can get.....
  26. Just a side note, as someone who doesn't buy the pics, I still enjoyed taking a few candid ones around the ship when the photographers popped up- me and my kid playing mini golf, the family in the boarding terminal, hanging out at playmakers.... never even went to look at them before, but now you can look at the photos right after they are taken right in the app. So that was cool- I'd look at them on the app, then still not buy them- BUT it'll save you a lot of time down the line if you are buying them, you can check them out as they are taken instead of going at the end of the cruise and scrolling through them all.
  27. Wizard of Oz was Amazing! oh and Rover left us a friend in our room. Tonight we have chops at 7:15 and then we are going to see a journey tribute band called DSB in the music hall.
