Once upon a time

Misheard lyrics are my favorite!!!

I thought Rascal Flatts was talking about a guy named Justin Hayes until I married my husband and he happily informed me the line is "Just in Case" not Justin Hayes 🤣

Quote

Rascal Flatts

Punch the clock, head for home
Check the phone, just in case
Go to bed, dream of you
That's what I'm doin' these days

I will be interested to see if anyone starts reporting on purchasing this perk.

Although it does not appeal to me, I can see the appeal.

There are many cruisers who will book the cheapest room possible and will throw money at other items as they don't plan on doing anything other than sleeping in their room.  I've heard a few horror stories about reservations and lines on the bigger ships so this may be their target audience.  Also, would the perks extend to private island ports?

This also looks like it could be used as a great casino "bonus".

It is now "on sale" for $254.99 on my Indy sailing this August. Still can not see any value in it on non Royal Suite class ships. Lack of specialty dining options,

entertainment that doesn't require reservations etc...

I suppose this new add on has no exceptions for children?

It's the same as The Key. Under 6 is free, but kids 6 and above cost the same

Man I just don't see any value in this just like I don't see the value in The Key. My guess because of our personality if we had a suite with a genie we would either never use it or barely use it cause it would just feel weird to us. Genie without the awesome room is bonkers to me.

The best thing about the Royal Genie was he loaded a veritable boatload of Shiner Bock beer for us.

It can't be sold on the ship, but apparently it can be given away!!

That'd be one question I'd have. How many of those type requests could be fulfilled on the smaller ships vs. the larger ones.

Very interesting development. Agreed about its potential impact on pins in the suite lounge. Obviously there can only be so many of these packages even available per sailing given the genie/crew requirements. Overrun suite lounges would be annoying to me.

Agree. IMO this program would discourage me from booking a suite as the CL and my D+ drink coupons would work just fine. I can’t imagine enjoying a suite lounge overrun with people who didn’t book a suite. The money grabs by this CEO character “Capt Liberty” are trending towards impacting guest experiences.

I’ve never had an issue with crowding in the suite lounge. Most of the time it’s us and a group of pinnacles with us listening to them for tips. The suite sun “decks” on Freedom class are a joke imo but even the ones on oasis class seem to be really underutilized. We were alone on Utopia more often than not up there which really surprised me. I can count on one hand the amount of people we saw there on both of the b2b trips. I hope that trend holds for the icon trips coming up.
