Katiemay0101 Posted November 18, 2021 Report Posted November 18, 2021 This is the third time we've tried to cruise to Cozumel. Twice they changed the itinerary and one cruise was cancelled. I get it, we're in pandemic but I've been to the Bahamas and NO, I don't want to go again. Does anyone know why they changed the itinerary for the April 19th trip on Mariner? I guess we're just not meant to see Cozumel. Ugh! Kate Quote
Matt Posted November 18, 2021 Report Posted November 18, 2021 If they swapped Cozumel for Bahamas, I strongly suspect it's so the ship can visit a country with a vaccine requirement so the line can get around Florida's anti-vaccine mandate law. WAAAYTOOO, Gears, SebagoSue and 4 others 2 3 1 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted November 18, 2021 Report Posted November 18, 2021 Also with Cayman/Labadee closed and Jamaica still ramping up, more cruises are being sent to the default ports like Bahamas and Cozumel, causing traffic problems there. GKMCruising 1 Quote
stevendom57 Posted November 18, 2021 Report Posted November 18, 2021 I was in Cozumel on Monday, so the island isn't locked down. There were a number of ships in port. Quote
D Alt Posted November 18, 2021 Report Posted November 18, 2021 I was in cozumel today. No issues. Quote
MTNeedsAVacay Posted November 19, 2021 Report Posted November 19, 2021 No real answers for you, but I'm on that same sailing! Fortunately, we've been to Cozumel several times as well as the Bahamas, so we were unfazed by the change- just a short getaway for me and hubs without the kids. But I can understand your frustration if you booked that sailing specifically for its original itinerary. Would you be able to cancel under CWC and switch to a different sailing? I'm not really sure all the rules of that. Quote

Pretty sure this is why they dropped Key West and replaced it with Bimini on our Jewel of the Seas cruise in a couple of weeks. Quote

So I am unsure why your sailing is changed. 5 hours ago, Gears said: Pretty sure this is why they dropped Key West and replaced it with Bimini on our Jewel of the Seas cruise in a couple of weeks. I always recommend that if there's a place you absolutely 100% want to visit, a land vacation to that place is the best choice. Quote
Wallflower Posted November 20, 2021 Report Posted November 20, 2021 Thats so wierd, we are on Mariner on March 31, and they switched us from the Nassau to Cozumel. Perhaps it is related? Quote
Okgladgal Posted November 21, 2021 Report Posted November 21, 2021 @Gears Key West residents voted to prohibit large cruise ships. Quote
