RBRSKI reacted to deep1 in CDC going after Nassau ?
I believe Jill to be right. They are having a tantrum they can't control the whole world. Today the Congress added a bill to the Senate one trying to bring this to an end. It doesn't bod well to have multiple states suing then bills from both house and senate looking to clip their wings. Bahama numbers very low. Their peak came in October with five times as many active cases as they have now (2500 vs 450). Most days have no deaths. About 40 new cases a day nation wide... CDC are behaving like spoiled children who's toys are being taken away...

RBRSKI got a reaction from Cruise Pirate in Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says NO to Vaccine Requirement for Cruise Lines sailing from Florida Ports
I like this thinking!
This is copied and pasted from the Mayo Clinic web site,
Complications
For most people, norovirus infection usually clears up within a few days and isn't life-threatening. But in some people — especially children, older adults and people with compromised immune systems — norovirus infection can cause dehydration. Norovirus infection can cause severe dehydration, malnutrition and even death, especially in people who are older or immunocompromised, or in women who are pregnant
So if a vaccine is developed for Norovirus will the cruise lines try to make it mandatory as well. Where DOES it Stop?

Good for Him!! The CDC and Government is pushing the vaccine and it should be the choice of the person! Not the Government, CDC or Businesses!

RBRSKI reacted to jticarruthers in U.S. Politicians Urge CDC to Keep Cruise Industry Closed
And yet close to half the people I know are cowering in their basements still (clearly not in Florida because that doesn't work here) because of how awful it is on the news. I swear if another relative calls asking how bad it is living at ground zero (aka Florida) I may have to sick DeSantis on them ?

RBRSKI reacted to JeffB in U.S. Politicians Urge CDC to Keep Cruise Industry Closed
There are a dwindling number of those politicians I believe. I base that on the bills that members of Congress are submitting - maybe it's good theater but a lot of work goes into submitting a bill. Members know or are told by senior leadership if a bill has no chance of even being considered. Don't submit it. We'll there are 2 bills submitted and probably another that will be. I think Congress, unattached to the current executive, would come to the same conclusion about the NSO, CSO and the crippling of the cruise industry as we have. It's unwarranted and probably not lawful - that's another story by itself winding its way through the courts.
The more I write about this, the more I reason it out, the harder it gets to see anything remotely sensible about it. People packed in at the beach, at an airshow, OUTSIDE? The risk of spreading the virus is as close to zero as it gets. Not only has that risk been overplayed, it simply is unscientific to keep showing pictures of crowded outside venues to imply they are potentially super-spreader events to sew virus fear and should be banned.

I'll say one thing. Two weeks before anyone's cruise I'd be hitting up the vitamin D and zinc, just in case.

I saw this as well. Remember when the CDC Director said that vaccinated individuals could not get re-infected? More contradictory info coming from the CDC.
Also, its worthwhile to note that the lady in the beginning of this article said she was fully vaccinated and still continue to wear a mask but still got Covid.
But we know that Covid cannot be 100% eliminated. The goal in the should not be Zero Covid and also as the article mentions that when these rare breakthroughs occur, 5800 out of 76,000,000 among fully vaccinated people that it is a milder form of Covid and often asymptomatic.
Once upon a time during this pandemic we were told in the US we needed to keep the hospitals from being overwhelmed. My....how the goalposts have shifted

RBRSKI reacted to HeWhoWaits in Cruise Ships in the CDC Dock
We never stopped having back yard gatherings. It's not difficult to maintain space between individuals outside and the recommendations have always been "wear a mask indoors where the ability to maintain six feet of separation isn't possible."
Outdoors AND spaced apart - easy to do. And we've kept on keepin' on.

It's a good thing there are community guidelines on this blog to prevent me from typing up how I feel about this statement.

RBRSKI reacted to Reigert2008 in Well....wish us luck....going to Nassua
I hope the cruislines track and report the number of cabins that are “moved” to the non-US ports. It could show the CDC (or anyone) the number of people that are traveling abroad to cruise. Maybe that data will show how blocking the US ports from opening is not preventing cruising.

RBRSKI got a reaction from Jill in State of Florida Sues CDC Over Cruise Shut Down
And in my opinion, he is doing it for the state of Florida and the people who are affected by the shut down of the cruise industry. People may be quick to judge him and say it's only a political stunt but if he makes it happen many people will benefit.

It's going to get real interesting when the good old HIPAA law takes effect. What information or documentation will Royal have access too? My thought is just the the vaccine card will be required. We Will See.

No existing cruise booking later has had a vaccine requirement added to it.
For Adventure that requirement was known and stated when bookings for her were made available.

This is interesting Too! Good for all these business! I hope Royal decides to keep some of the embarkation out of Nassau even when the stupid CDC lets them cruise out of the US again.

A stunt is saying you are looking into a lawsuit.
Filing an actual lawsuit rises above "stunt".

RBRSKI reacted to Flopper in Where exactly will Adventure dock?
I anticipate the first cruise on the 12th to be an absolute cluster F. I think we all need to be mentally prepared of us to be waiting longer than we should. It will probably be the first day on the job for the vast majority of the people working on the check in process unless RCG brings in port agents from FLA which i think is highly unlikely.

GOOD! The CDC needs to be called out on their double standard BS!
They're still holding on to the the idea of outbreaks similar to what happened on Diamond Princess OVER A YEAR AGO and paying no mind to the FACTS that we now have testing, health checks, mitigation measures, numerous other protocols, treatments, and, oh yeah, VACCINES!
