I also have anxiety. major anxiety.. I honestly think you are making a mistake booking Oasis on June 21... My friends live in NYC. I honestly cant imagine NY and NJ allowing cruise ships to leave at all this year from their ports. I honestly only think Florida will be having ships leave this year.. Please know that I say this hoping and praying for cruises. I am dying for them to open and I hope I am wrong about NY and NJ but I really really think considering your anxiety its a mistake and I say this with kindness and respect please don't take it the wrong way. Are there any Florida cruises that would work for you? I honestly think its your best bet.. I am also taking a gamble and have a cruise booked for the end of July but mine leaves from Florida..

I feel if the cruise lines actually implement all of the plans they say they will implement then I do believe in July out of Florida it will be safe to sail. And to me it is worth the gamble. I LOVE cruises more than anything and I believe if cruise lines actually do all the health screening and require people to wear gloves and masks that its safe to go. If cruise lines aren't willing to make proper changes then No it won't be safe.. But the cruise lines know they cant screw it up again they are going to follow their own policies and procedures to the letter. As long as they do that I am going. I respect that you don't think its safe but I am willing to take the gamble. Some people agree with me and some people don't its all a matter of personal choice. 

That's a gross generalization, based largely on the Diamond Princess situation back in February.
You're also completely disregarding the vast and overwhelming amount of cases that eminated from airplanes, grocery stores, gas stations and pretty much every where else. Cruise ships account for a minute fraction of the cases.  They just garner a lot of attention because they are an easy target since people are there for many days.
COVID-19 came to the US by airplane, not cruise ship. In fact, pretty much every country (if not all) had their first cases as a result of people flying somewhere. So the blame and concern lay elsewhere.
They are issuing refunds. It's a lot to process and they are getting done. Don't speculate on things that aren't happening, and spread falsehoods to others in the process.

Thanks for the insights. As much as I hate to pass up an amazing fare like that, I can't help but think you both are right. I'm just going to focus on paying for the cruises I feel more confident about (the October group cruise and something for Christmas -- originally Grandeur, but now looking at other things, including Anthem, though there again, it brings the whole NY/NJ metro situation into play, so...)
This is all just so messed up -- I'm going stir crazy...in addition to my normal type of crazy. ?
Stiill gonna keep an eye on Oasis for June, because if it does go forward, maybe I can snag a cabin for an even sweeter last-minute price.

I feel pretty good about the June 12th return to sailing after watching the briefing from our President tonight.  "Opening Up America Again"  Love It!

Tell me if I'm being too optimistic but I believe this could get cruises going at the end of this arbitrary 100 day ban. It would slow things down a bit at the port but better than not sailing at all. Its just a price of the finger, results in 10 minutes. Its coming to all airlines. Until a vaccine this could be the ticket to flying, cruising and other things. I'll leave the video below. I just want to sail in Sept! Prick my finger twice, I don't care.

Its very frustrating.. I was going to Vegas and spirit canceled my flight obviously lol They refunded me within 3 days of requesting it. So if an airline can do it why can't Royal? Honestly a lot of my refunds are taxes and fees.. I have almost $1500 in taxes and fees from various cruises and I would be happy if Royal would just move the money over to other cruises I want to book but they won't. That bothers me the most.. They owe me that amount of money AND expect me to give them more money to rebook..

I just counted this would put us in July... I had a strong feeling when the Casino department put out offers for July and August that they figured that would be when we would be allowed to sail again. 

I specifically called and asked if TA's can get credit for this offer and was told YES. Clearly its always whoever you get on the phone which is so annoying lol. I should of went ahead and booked the offer then but I wasn't ready to. But you got an awesome deal. I hope this ends soon and we can all go back to enjoying our favorite things cruising and gambling. 

Just got an email from Club Royale saying that everyone’s casino status has been extended until March 31, 2022.  It also states that if your “free” cruise was cancelled or you were otherwise unable to take it, you now have until March 31; 2021 to use it.
Great news all around. First good cruise news I’ve had in weeks !
 

We were supposed to be on the Oasis of the Seas from 04/05/20 to 04/12/20 but it was canceled due to the pandemic.  I was devastated.  We had a beautiful Crown Loft Suite reserved (the nicest room we've ever booked) and I really wanted to see the revamp that was done in 2019.  The last time we were on the Oasis was in 2012.
Fortunately, we have two more cruises booked.  One, for Christmas 2020 and the other, for Spring Break 2021.  Since we were able to get a full refund for our April 2020 cruise (sadly), I figured, what the heck?  I emailed my TA yesterday and upgraded our Junior Suite to a beautiful Owner's Suite on the Freedom of the Seas for our Christmas cruise.  YAY!  I will now start my Keto diet again, ramp up the exercises, and start getting bathing suit ready for December.  It will happen....it HAS to happen.  LOL!

I just booked my cruise this afternoon. I ended up doing a balcony for now because I want to see if after final payment prices go down and I can use my FCC to upgrade. Although I don't know if you can use a FCC for Thanksgiving. Anyway the tips for me still said $14.50 so maybe just suites went up? I really loved this offer the only thing that could of been better would have been if it was for Odyssey lol but still I will not complain about free Thanksgiving cruise and $200 in freeplay.

I have cruises booked in April and May and would be happy to get on one or both.
If they know they cant cruise and have to cancel me, fair enough it rolls me forward to another cruise but as long as they think there is a chance i dont mind holding on.
And yes i have no real concerns about getting on a cruise ship .. I was my hands, i dont rub handrails, etc. so i dont view a cruise ship as any less safe than a whole of other places i go on a regular basis.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to use a good TA.. The people at Royal's call center are notoriously terrible and don't know policies and procedures very well. I get that this happened to you but its because you didn't use a good TA. The new policy makes it so you don't have to put down a deposit. Fact a good TA costs you nothing. So why wouldn't you want to use one I don't get it? Also just so you know this is a fan website of Royal Caribbean.. Most people on this site use TA's because we follow the suggestions of Mr.Matt Hochberg the person who writes this blog and he always recommends using a good TA.

The 100% refund and 125% FCC is ONLY for the cruises that have currently been canceled not for cruises in June.. Now if Royal extends cancelations into June then you would qualify. But if you choose to cancel on your own now without Royal canceling the cruise your option is a 100% FCC
