Just got the email we were upgraded to the CL a few minutes after my phone got a notification that Royal made a charge on my Amex!  🎊🍾🥳🎉
 

I am the Operations Manager at MEI.  These agent work with me to form a team to work for this board.  

We WON our bid!! We got upgraded from an Central Park Balcony to a JR Suite with only a couple of dollars over the min bid!!!  So excited!!

For our October cruise on the Odyssey, we put in a slightly above minimum RU bid on a Grand Suite to a Star class Loft Suite and got it. We were notified about 5 days out from the cruise and truly enjoyed the upgrade.
Originally we were supposed to be on an 8-day on the Independence out of Miami, but they shifted us to Odyssey out of Fort Lauderdale, kept us in the same Grand Suite category, but at the Indy price.  All said, this was the lowest price we will ever see a star class suite...

And most of what you mix with those fruit products is derived from grains, so...

Same thing happened to me.  I chose to book a quick 3-night with a friend for a Mom's Get-A-Way.  🙂  Win win all around!  My family will benefit from my Diamond status.  I figured one of us should take the hit and why not me?

There is something liberating about having the DX/DBP. 
Enjoying a special coffee like a latte in the morning, a few mimosa to start the day, a beer at lunch, a few bottles of water and you can consume your diamond vouchers before noon.  
People often focus on the financial goal of "breaking even" when deciding about the package, but it is nice when on vacation to put it out of mind and just enjoy what you feel like living in the moment.  When i don't have the package it's always on my mind.  "Am I going to have two glasses of wine tonight?" Hmmm.  Better save a voucher even though I feel like a beer right now.  
Even if you don't break even there is value not having it always on your mind and just living in the moment while on vacation.

Just wrapping up our cruise on Odyssey after enjoying our RoyalUp to a grand loft. Gotta say this was thrilling beyond belief. We truly enjoyed every aspect and the suite was awesome. I got many a good nap on the balcony this week. Enjoy and congrats!!

Boom!🤯 It I done!  Officially got our upgrade!  Today at 3pm EST.  Right after my post above.  Sorry I didn't want to go into details about my bid, room, and ship until we got the upgrade(as only one room was available online during bidding)
Went from Ocean View Balcony to Grand Suite on a 7-Day cruise on Allure leaving this Sunday!  We have a total of around $3,500 invested for a GS balcony for two people(price includes the original purchase price, and the bid offered($1,250 per person/ $2,500 total bid)!  Way cheaper than what we would have done if we would have just booked the suite room to begin with!  Plus we can now eat at costal kitchen, and I can get rid of our internet package(sad no extra Cruise points for suite room but oh well)!!  Super stoked as me and the wife have been waiting all pandemic like most everyone to get back out and start cruising again!  Cant wait till our next cruise now for January!  Hope my additions helps folks that read this post/blog!!

Also in closing, I think it is an extremely good sign when bidding, that if you have one of the bids pending, you will typically get the upgrade!🤙

I’ll confirm that. I saw the notification from my card about the charge and about 10 minutes later the confirmation email from RoyalUp.
This happened on Tuesday before our Saturday sail. Since we went from Grand Suite to Grand Loft, I think we were one of the first dominoes because the other people in the Facebook for the cruise started reporting successful bids shortly after us, with the latest confirmation, that I know of happening, the morning of the sail.

We sat at Playmakers sports bar last night watching the Chiefs game while eating and drinking and talking with many other people on board the Odyssey. All of us had masks off once we sat down and had food and drink in front of us.

Cabin 8324, right next to the Royal Loft (which we also bid on and obviously didn't get).
We bid about 15% above minimum on the CLS and the OLS. We bid minimum on the RLS (which was still way more than the other lofts and we really didn't *need* that much space... 😄 ). We also bid minimum on some of the other suites, but we really wanted a loft, especially since it took us from sky to star class.
