These are questions for your card issuer. Royal will not refund to your new card, but your bank might apply the chargeback to your new account. They also may issue you a check for the refund. Royal will take about 2 weeks to process the refund. How long it takes your bank to do whatever they are going to do after that is anyone’s guess.

Nope nothing has been announced, but I wouldn’t expect to be able to go there anytime in 2024. Things haven’t improved at all over there

Royal Caribbean never charges roaming fees. Those are charged by your carrier.

@smokeybandit why is the image in my head of Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail when they tried to use the catapult to get over the castle wall??

At the Shore Excursion desk remember it is a request, not an assignment. If there is more than one ship at PDCC, there is no way for them to communicate preference made by passengers on both ships. You will simply get what they assign you

@RCIfan1912 You have to look at the OBC and the cruise price as your “price”. The total price didn’t go down, it went up which is why you don’t want to rebook. These two things are tied together, not separate. Had the total price of the cruise gone down, they absolutely would let you rebook at the lower price with the OBC.
-
Yeah, I would compare the price difference between what you paid versus the cost to rebook with the OBC factored in. I have a cruise that I booked in February 2023 for December that is now twice the cost what I paid. Now if RC wants to throw down a few grand in OBC…I’ll certainly consider rebooking! Even if you booked last week, the net gain, if any, would be minimal as they would just build that OBC into the cost of the cruise. Don’t lose sleep over it. I’m willing to bet you are coming out significantly ahead if you booked a year ago!

Excursions are added all the time. One may be added between now and your cruise, so you just have to keep checking. Of course you could always book a 3rd party excursion there as well.

Haven’t heard of any such package. The port is very touristy and the drinks aren’t all that cheap. Not expensive, but not cheap either. You can get much better prices at other places outside the port facility.

No change and no announcement of said change being implemented.

Excursions get cancelled….it happens. Just because yours was, means all of the ones going there will get cancelled. So telling everyone to avoid this one excursion based on a cancelation is a bit dramatic. What are you expecting Royal to do for an excursion that is not ran by them? You will get a refund.
-
You have no recourse as you are not being wronged. Let’s say you had a family reunion cruise consisting of 30 people spread out in 10 cabins. Do you REALLY think that all 30 people would be and should be compensated with 4 free days? It’s no different than your scenario involving 2 rooms. No where did they ever say that your entire family, even those in different cabins, were entitled to 4 days.

There was an excursion in Juneau last year that was $1000pp, but cannot remember for the life of me what it was. It involved either a plane or a helicopter.

I fail to see where RC did anything wrong. You failed to sit properly for the type of seat it was. Any false assumptions you made about the type of seating it was, is on you. When you hurt yourself and it’s 100% your fault, you have to pay for it unless if you have insurance to cover it. Royal is in the right here….sorry.

You can wear whatever you want to. Only a small percentage will be decked out in full blown formal wear. Most will wear the exact same type of attire that they wore the previous night.

Excursions are something where there is no timetable as to when they get released. I know part of the issue is it depends on when/if Royal has contracts in place with the excursion provider as Royal themselves does not operate these. I have a sailing in December 2024 where I was able to book my excursions all in March 2023, so you being 6 months out isn’t the issue. Just have to keep checking. In the meantime, I would book fully refundable excursions through a 3rd party just in case as a back up.

Walk around Fisherman's Wharf and take the water taxi to Victoria's Downtown. It's a beautiful city.
This is exactly what we do! The downtown area has many very nice restaurants, bars and shopping options that you can easily make the most of your time there. The downtown is VERY clean and safe. Even walking around and not spending a dime is better than sitting on the ship for this port.

Have you heard about all the violence from the ports of Miami, Baltimore, and Los Angeles??
Getting off Ship on Embarkation Day after Check In (PORT DAY)
in Royal Caribbean Discussion

I wouldn’t count on being able to board the ship and then get off. If you want to board later than your arrival time, please be sure to triple check your final boarding time. Just because the ship may leave at say midnight, that does not mean there will be port workers and customs officials at the port to process people coming in after the final boarding time.
