  1. Everything right now is just speculation. I would be surprised if there was another full cancellation to the scale like we saw a couple years ago, since now we are better equipped with an understanding of how the virus works to protect ourselves and for Royal Caribbean to make recommendations to provide a safe vacation.

It is what it is for the moment - nothing we can do but wait to see what happens next.

Let me add to AshleyDillo's post that we've always enjoyed the first night in the MDR, kind of like playing bingo or the lottery to see if you end up with a table that has a nice view!  Enjoy your cruise!

Adding on to this - you can also go to the MDR as soon as you board to see the location of your table based on what's been printed on your sea pass.

Thank you for posting that - I see it. I guess they need to let their phone reps know. I did talk with one for a 3/4 of an hour last night. I sail on Dec. 30th, so it won't affect me. That is why the link helps - there is a difference between "ends Jan. 5" and "sailing after Jan. 5." Thanks again.

I often find advice offered by the phone reps to be varied and contradict the website a bit. For example, I was told that my Covid test needed to be within 48 hours of sail away time, when the policy is clearly posted that it's anytime 2 days before you board.

Another case where 1) It helps to review the policies on Royal's website directly (and often, the closer you get to sail away to be familiar with the changing landscape of protocols) and 2) work directly with a trusted travel agent.

I was able to book Walgreens once it was a week out, so we did Walgreens on Christmas Eve morning for us and my son the day before (he is only 4) at Walgreens.  I have actually him set for Walgreens and CVS as RC was zero help telling me if they accepted ID NOW as PCR so I plan to ask the pharmacy and if not then an hour later we will do CVS PCR.  I also have backup appointments for us in case Walgreens says they won't honor the less than 24 hours timeframe at another place that I have never heard of.  So I would much rather do Walgreens.

Adding on to this - I've been wanting to double check that the Walgreens ID NOW is accepted (although I'm fairly confident it will be since it meets the criteria as a supervised test?)

Considering they just were able to get hostages freed and are now talking about sending in a UN peacekeeping force, I'm doubtful they want to do anything there quickly.

Not disagreeing with you - but I also suspect that Royal is hoping to move quickly the moment that they can do so without delaying it further. Based on the situation there I doubt ships will be visiting for a while.

Agree, seems like a big miss on revenue by not giving people time to research excursion offers.

On a similar note, it's also difficult to shuffle ships between port schedules and days when one was already planned. I imagine there's a bigger reason for why they're waiting until the last moment that they can to make the swap - I also imagine there's someone high up who's banking on Labadee becoming available again quickly.

Update…and I’m we’re not happy right now…😡 RC has now stated it was a computer glitch and they don’t have any cabins available that’s comparable to what we have, (same cabin b2b) and location, however the can offer us an upgrade to GS (next available upgrade) current listed for $12k for $6k more 😡 That would make the final figure paid for $9k plus…and that’s just for the first sailing since it’s listed as an Holiday sailing. We decided that wasn’t going to fly and asked for a refund, now we’re being told it will be in the form of fcc and that will put back the $900 they took from cancellation (penalties).  Which they officially canceled the cruise yesterday were now being told. I need a break….to cool off….

Any path to escalate that again? That doesn't seem like what I would expect for an error on their behalf...

No enforcement on odyssey. Started with 2 and end with 15 people. I walk away when people doesn't follow the rule.

Actually because this made me think of it - the "infinity" hot tubs that sit on the deck above the pools would often have kids in them splashing around... meaning if you were sitting under it, there was a good chance you were going to get water dumped on you.

Any idea where Harmony has been going? I’m mostly excited to be on my favorite ship but have no idea where it’s been being deployed to.

You might have luck checking some recent roll calls either here or on another web site forum for recent sailings with similar itineraries. That said, there's a lot of variables at play and it could be difficult to say.

Thank you for the kind words!  In reality almost all her classes are AP, so that with also trying to decide on a university for next year really has been a bit much.  I really don't know where she gets her drive from as her parents were average students at best🙂.  I kind of wish she would throw a party while were gone........but I think there is about a 0% chance of that happening. LOL

Sounds like a good kid with a bright future. 😀

Reh roh....I sense an emerging suite snob !

    Welcome !

This is funny, because I've already found myself crossing my fingers for a suite Royal Up on our upcoming Jewel cruise after realizing how much smaller our Balcony cabin would be, and already having booked a Junior Suite directly for our next Allure cruise all as a result of our Odyssey Royal Up. 😅

I am on Odyssey if the sea right now. Head count 3280.  It is 80% capacity which is probably the highest  capacity since pandemic.   I will keep my fingers crossed.

Wow! Curious how Odyssey feels with the higher capacity? When we were on board it was only about 1600 and the ship felt empty at times.

A group of 7 of us are on the same cruise, we booked the jet ski excursion as well as the roller coaster, we just booked the excursions a couple of weeks ago, maybe they are holding out hope to re-open, hope it’s not just a sea day they add,we enjoy getting of and exploring, see you on the high seas.

The rumor is that Labadee has typically been replaced with Nassau on this itinerary.
