  1. The last thing we need to do for our August cruise is get the proctored home test. I was going to get them from Optum. Im worried about how long they are good for. Does anyone know how long they are good before expiring? Should I wait until it get closer to August to order them?

  2. Hello, I got this tip from a Facebook Group for my sailing and got permission to share the tip. I don’t know if this has been shared before here. It’s a way to see the daily activities for the ship at the current time.

I know I'm the most excited for the cruise, but I have a tip if any of you less enthusiastic people are interested. It gives you the current information on the current sailing on the ship so you can get an idea of the activities and menus. You will need the Royal Caribbean app:

You will need the Royal Caribbean app:

Open app and click on the person icon at the top.

Click on select a different sailing

Go to bottom and click on get more details on ships we support

Click the ship you are going on

Click on the sailing with the current date (ie May 22- May 29 2002)

If you click on the daily planner you will see all the activities that are planned for this day to get an idea of what is offered. It also says where the ship is right now.

Most people tip at the end but that's up to you. Many prefer to base their tips on quality of service.

I could tip the extra at the end. I’m a little rusty. I don’t think I’ve been on Royal Caribbean since they got rid of skeet shooting. I also plan on tipping extra no matter the quality of service. There could be reasons if the service is not the very best, they could be having a bad day or maybe they’re homesick and no matter what, they are assisting me and the least I can do is appreciate the effort.

  4. We are going on a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on Harmony in August. The gratuities are pre paid along with most of everything we can prepay. At the start of the cruise we want to tip the head wait staff, our wait staff, and our cabin steward. We also want to tip the bartenders beyond the gratuities on the deluxe drink package. We are also doing two excursions. The problem is we don’t know what is a decent tip beyond what is already paid. We don’t want to offend anyone with a tip that is too low. Also how much cash need to have on hand do you think is typical for a 7 day Caribbean cruise?

  5. Hello, I have a severe hearing impairment. Even with my hearing aids, I can only hear about 65%. I want to enjoy the shows on the ship, but I’m afraid I’ll miss too much and be confused. Is there anything special to help the hearing impaired hear the shows better? I don’t usually go to shows so I don’t know how it works.

  6. Hello, we are going on Harmony in August. We booked our cruise using the Royal Caribbean credit card. We are also paying our extras as we go in advance so we won’t have to spend too much at cruise time.  Because of that we should have enough points to convert to around $400 in on board credits. I really doubt we will use that much. We are also going on Navigator in November. If we have extra onboard credit from our August cruise can we transfer it to our November cruise?

  7. As we we’re completing the booking, the kids sail free discount was not taken off of either of two bookings. I called Royal Caribbean (and reached a person within 3 minutes). He didn’t know why the website was not taking off the discount. The agent couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, he gave great customer service. He helped us book each room and we got all our discounts including kids sail free. What I’m trying to say is you might want to check your booking to see if you are getting the kids sail free, seems like a glitch with the website.

  8. We want to book another cruise (we haven’t even gone on the first one we booked yet). We want my wife, myself, and my oldest grandchild in one room and one booking. And my daughter, her husband, and her two youngest in another room. We want adjoining rooms. On the deck plan are the adjoining rooms the ones with the black arrows next to each other? Also do we need a promo for kids sail free?

  9. We want to take our granddaughter on a cruise (she’s seven). We don’t know if my daughter and her family is going yet (new husband) but either way we want to take my granddaughter. My daughter has full legal and physical custody of my granddaughter. Will we still need to get permission from my granddaughter’s father to go on the cruise?

  10. Hello,

This is my wife and my first Royal Caribbean cruise since our honeymoon 30 years ago ( we’ve been on a few other cruises on other cruise lines since). I’m more OCD than my wife so I already have the app on my phone, she doesn’t. I signed up for the crown and anchor society and the app shows I have 15 points. Are those points for both my wife and I or are they my points and she’ll get points when she signs up? We booked a seven day cruise so shouldn’t I have seven points. Sorry if this question is basic, but I’m confused how it works.

    Yes

Money is used the poor soul that has to clean up when ever they miss. Don't forget someone also has to change out the empty bottles and restock supplies.

I didn’t think about that. I guess I’m not very smart. I never thought about how that is maintained.
