I agree with @smokeybandit.  In order to file an insurance claim you must have suffered some financial loss that you are trying to recoup.  There is no financial loss in missing a port unless you have a non-refundable excursion already purchased and that’s not even possible on Labadee.  There is no claim to file.

I didn't meet a TA in person but I went through the same thing once prices increased and I sought out how to get better deals. Now I wouldn't book without my TA group rates (unless it's from the GGG sale or some other last minute deal).

I work with a mother/daughter team at Cruise Planners.  I like working with them, and they always can get me a much better group rate than what I can book on my own.  I met the daughter on our last pre-pandemic cruise (in 2019) and we really enjoyed getting to know her and her husband (we were seated at the same table in the MDR for dinner quite by coincidence).  Before meeting her I had no idea the benefits of using a TA, but I wouldn't do it on my own now that I know the difference.

Apps showing schedules allow flexibility that paper schedules don't.  They can be updated throughout the day if the weather/illness/etc causes a change to an activity/show/etc.  It's also more environmentally friendly than printing something that is only valid for a single day.
You can eat at the same time with the same waiter whether you do "My Time Dining" or traditional.
There's no shuffleboard because most of Royal (and Carnival's) guests have never played it!
Much of your complaints are a generational issue.  I mean this in the kindest way possible, but it sounds like you are older than the target market for the mainstream cruise lines.  There's nothing wrong with that, but you may need to seek out smaller, more luxurious cruise lines to find what you are looking for.

We went through the Tracy Arm Fjord on Brilliance in May, and on the loud speaker when we got to the glacier we were told that was the closest they were able to get to the glacier in 2 years.  Whoever it was on the loudspeaker (maybe the captain?) made it out to be a pretty big deal.   So I think it is all luck as stated above.  We had an amazing view of the glacier, but Brilliance is also a smaller ship.  There was no excursion to get off the ship at the glacier.  The ship just goes through the fjord then makes a turn and goes back out.  It was a wonderful morning just being out on our balcony though!

This was a transatlantic, so once we boarded we headed to NJ…still onboard.
I imagine catching the national   Express bus back to London would be as simple.
also note Gatwick airport is closer to Southampton than Heathrow airport is,…we didn’t book that airport due to wanting  to play tourist in London

AOlivr reacted to twangster in Why does it cost so much to bring an infant on a cruise
The two are intertwined.  More importantly the safety aspect creates an operating environment they are constrained by and creates an environment that isn't found on land so comparisons to land based businesses don't work.

Royal is a business not a charity.  It's easy to say they could provide <insert thing I care about> and not feel a thing.  McDonalds could provide free soda and not feel a thing.  Sports stadiums could provide free water bottles and not feel a thing, they cost pennies!!!  Banks could not charge maintenance fees and not feel a thing.  And so on, and so.
Why should they?  Why should any business give up revenue?
The thing is businesses won't accept less income.  Shareholders won't accept lower returns.  They would need to cover that loss of income somehow.  Something else goes up in price to cover that loss of income.
Any time you waive a charge or subsidize it someone pays for it.
I cruise solo often so my favorite <insert thing here> would be the single supplement.  I could rant and write long justifications why solo cruisers shouldn't have to pay single supplements but the truth is solo cruisers represent a loss of revenue potential and so as a business they charge solo cruisers more and there are times of the year they charge them even more because they lose more revenue on solo cruisers during peak times.
Other popular < insert thing here >:
< free Voom for everyone >
< free drinks for everyone >
< free photos for everyone >
< free specialty dining for everyone >
< lower cruise fares right now >
    < lower suite fares >
There are many things they could afford to do and not go bankrupt.  Not going bankrupt isn't the primary goal of any business.  Maximizing revenue should always be.
Do you not own any investments or retirement accounts?  Are you okay with your investments not growing as much?  You good with retiring with less savings?  All so businesses can provide more free things?

Quite often for me, OBC received from the credit card rewards takes a very long time to hit my Cruise Planner.   Our last cruise to Alaska this past May, rewards that I redeemed in January and February for OBC did not hit Cruise Planner until just a few weeks before we sailed.  About a month ago I redeemed award points for OBC credit for our next cruise in November, and it is still not showing in Cruise Planner.  Last year, when I redeemed rewards they usually hit within 2 weeks, but this year it takes a lot longer.  I'm not sure why there is such a long delay for me, or if this is happening to other people as well.

Low fares (if booked far enough out), no checked bag fees, can check for price drops, can usually cancel flights for future fight credit, direct flights in places where the legacy carriers must route you through a hub city.  They are a much more consumer friendly airline to do business with.
The trick to surviving the no assigned seats thing to board early.  Either add the cost for early bird to the trip before comparing prices or use their credit card to get free boarding upgrades.  If you are in the B or C boarding group it sucks.

My husband and I were on the Brilliance at the end of May to Alaska, and the ship itself was very warm inside, and my husband was very sweaty!  He was sorry that he only brought one pair of shorts. I was fine but I felt the warmth as well and didn't need to wear layers inside.  I also wore flip flops around the ship, and a sun dress with a nice cardigan (and flip flops) was what I wore for formal night in the dining room.  I don't know if that's just because it was Brilliance, maybe the larger ships like Ovation and Quantum have better air conditioning.  My husband also couldn't get the air conditioning in our cabin to work well either, so no cooler air in our cabin either.

The one thing they can control is food cost.  From a VERY reliable source, they are using “no roll” beef. You can Google that.

They are BILLIONS in debt. Honestly, the food on the mega ships has never been mind blowing. How can it be with 6,000 passengers?
Every other cruise line in this market is having the same issues.
Adjust your expectations and be happy you won’t gain 10 lbs

Like @AshleyDillo stated before we are a fan site but I promise we are not Royal apologists. When they get it wrong we do opine here. I read your complaint a few times and what keeps jumping out at me and it was your very first statement, your friend of 20+ years & yourself participated in a heated exchange at check in. Honestly I am surprised Royal allowed you to board.
When we are angry we have much difficulty controlling our emotions which as an outsider (Royal representatives in this case) may be ill prepared to deal with/mediate. Royal is a company providing a vacation experience, they are not crisis counselors. I am sad that your sailing was not what you had imagined, but the company can only do so much. I'm sure as much as you articulated the problems so did your cabin mate ex-friend. Royal reps/security really has no idea who to believe, they ultimately just wish peace and no escalation.
Yes, the cabins may have been unoccupied but they leave some cabins empty for deep cleaning and such during some sailings, at least one became available eventually for you. I had to deal with Royal security once when my 16 year old didn't show up at the cabin at the pre scheduled time and after an exhaustive search and not hearing from her (we always text) we did ask for security to help, they were amazing. Could not have been more compassionate. She heard the announcements of her name and came bouncing up to the guest services desk like what did you do mom, I'm so embarrassed. She did text, we did text but the internet was down, no one realized this so no texts were going through; she did everything right explaining where and what time should would return, she was in the teen club via the text.  They cared, they were compassionate, I also maintained my composure while articulating my issue and that was hard. I promise you that was HARD.
It breaks my heart that you and someone you hold so dear have gone your separate ways, I am so sorry for that. Honestly though, I don't know what else you would want from Royal they are not arbitrators in disputes, they provide a sailing for the monies. If you choose to not take advantage of all of the offerings and have a bad experience due to things beyond their control I think they have abided by the terms of the agreement.
Do you want your money back because the fight made you not enjoy your sailing? That is not really a resolution that would be available or entertained. I whole heartedly wish you peace and joy, I wish for you to heal from your hurting as well. It seems a piece of you is lost when the friendship ended, looking to Royal for some healing is looking in the wrong place. Please book another cruise, just you! I bet this experience can be turned around, prayers up Maria 💙

We have been trying to get to Coco cay since before this miserable pandemic and we are finally here on Oasis. This could not be better and cooler. I watched, we watched a million videos of this island and none of really prepared us for how freaking awesome it truly it. Kids are having a blast and there is no better value on vacations at all. We will be back here on Oasis or anthem and probably both. This splash away bay is just amazing. The dump buckets are just so much fun. This vacation was worth every penny even with a 7 month old which can be a bit challenging at times. 9 year old is having the time of his life. Just loving this! Loving this!
