I grabbed a couple of Cohiba and Montecristos while in Havana a few years ago. Thought a few of each would be enough, but oh how I wished later that I had bought a few more.

From Gold to Diamond in less than a year. Traveling solo, and a jr. suite in June to boost me into diamond range. Not a 'status' kind of person, but I won't say no to those free drinks added to my account each day.

Hmmmm, seriously considering it. Loved that 7-day itinerary and have wanted to do it again.

THAT is one of the things I really enjoy about cruising, especially on Royal, is the relationships that are built with some of the crew. I love hearing about their story, why they work on cruise ships, how the living conditions are on the ship, the hours, and so on. They always, if they have time, seem to want to share their story with you.
Same!

Definitely airplane mode. I get an internet package if I know I will want to keep in touch through social media/email. Otherwise family/friends know that I am unreachable by phone.

I'm on my 13th Royal cruise since the restart in July and every one has had paper cruise compasses delivered to me cabin by default.
Where have you heard that cruise compasses are going away?
I had to request a cruise compass on my Jan. cruise... not automatically delivered

This is an awesome thread... thank you! I'm a west coaster (Disneyland is my jam) looking to check out WDW. At Disneyland we have to pay separately for entrance to each park (DL and CA Adventure). Do you have to pay separately for each different park, or do you have access to all with one ticket? I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I'm just curious. I'm moving to the east coast soon, so if I want to hang out with the Mouse, I'm going to have to learn more about WDW. @WAAAYTOOO, I'll be curious to hear what your hubby thinks of WDW, seeing as how he grew up with DL.

I have a quirky travel anxiety. Unfounded fears of being late. My wife hates it.

We saw this the nest day and we agree. Also as we had not ever seen this and we found it very weird and in some aspects disturbing. From what I could understand from it was they were all gathering to vote on who was going to die and they picked the one they all shunned that looked like Carol Burnett from her Lola skit to die. Then later on the evil cat comes back dressed up in the old man cats skin and reveals that it is the evil cat. Did he kill the old man cat and skin him?? But then the old man cat is back and we never see or her from evil cat again... I was so lost.
I felt the same dang way! We happened to be in the area of the theater the day after we saw it, and watched as people exited the theater with that, "What just happened?" kind of look on their face.

We were on the 7 night 11/19 cruise.
In Cabo we did the snorkeling excursion through Royal. That was fun.
Mazatlan we went off on our own to Stone Island. Great relaxing day and the water taxi to get there is a short walk from the ship. Lots of beach restaurants to choose from with lounge chairs and cheap eats.
Puerto Vallarta we went on our own to one of the boardwalk areas. Took a taxi both ways for $5 each. Hung out on beach chairs in front of a hotel and had snacks and drinks. The salespeople on the beach were constant though.
Like you said, not alot of choices through Royal Caribbean. I did hear someone say Salsa Salsa Margarita was pretty fun.
Navigator was fantastic though!
I also heard great things about Salsa Salsa Margarita... a couple of friends went and had a great time. Traveling solo I tried out the RC tours that tour the city (sorry, I can't remember the names). Neither was too bad, learned a bit about Mazatlan and Puerta Vallerta. Being the first cruise there just wasn't much info on the excursions, and honestly none of them "wowed" me. If I had to take the cruise again, I would definitely go out on my own like San Diego Garrett did or would look at some of the private tour operators.

Hopefully for OP it is, however F1 is on a dedicated F1 sky channel which i believe is seperate from Sky Sports package.
I think you're right... unfortunately for F1 fans in the U.S. we won't see races unless we get the streaming internet package while on board.
-
Sky sports is part of the sports package, but we were unable to see F1 on the west coast. I would be surprised if a sailing in Europe didn't show the F1 races.

Great pics... safe travels home!

The way I describe Cats in simple terms is that it is like a reality show - American Idol, AGT, Weakest Link, etc - where each cat explains in song why they should win. The winner goes to the Heavyside Layer to claim another one of their nine lives. It's almost like a revue-type show which makes it seem disjointed. Of course, as in most reality shows, the contestant with the best sob story wins ... and the award goes to... Lady G!
PG Cruiser, you are my hero! I have read a lot of summaries of that show, and yours truly nails it!!

We'll be cruising on Oasis in May and I was hoping there would be a different show. I would prefer not to see Cats, but my kids might like it, so I'm going to suck it up and see it with them.
Kirsten, download the music and let the kids listen before you go see it. Also, it helps if you read through a summary of what the show is about. It's difficult to follow the "plot" unless you actually understand what's going on.

I saw Cats on Oasis and I have to say that the musical itself rates right down at the bottom of the barrel with the 'Phantom' sequel, Love Never Dies (trust me, it's bad). I love musical theater, but I just never 'got' or appreciated Cats. I'm hoping that when Royal has the opportunity, they will replace it with something with more appealing.

Yes - Royal is really pushing TV and billboard ads in the LA/OC market.

Oh my gosh, that Sunset Verandah 360 at Sunrise - I could look at that all day long. Just stunning!

Thought of bidding on a junior suite (currently booked un a balcony room), but wanted to see if it is worth doing. I'm travelling solo and it's my first cruise, but before I bid, I wanted to get some advice on this.
D D, you do you! I just got off Navigator traveling solo and had a jr. suite. I placed a minimum bid on Royal Up and got it. Personally I loved the expedited check-in when boarding, and truly enjoyed all of the space (compared to the interior room I had on my last cruise). If you have the $$ available for a bid, and want to try it out, why not?
Radiance hangin' out in Cali

Anyone heading up the CA coast on Radiance? I saw her hanging out off the coast of Seal Beach/Long Beach this evening. I know it's a little silly, but after the last two years, it is so nice to see the ships back in service and making their way up the coast to the Alaskan season.
