I literally saw someone drop dead right in front of my in the Windjammer. Luckily I always sit in the back and one of the employees by the drink section worked super quickly to alert RC. They did CPR but sadly it did not help.
On a different cruise, we had this one gentleman always wear different color pastel suits with a top hat EVERYDAY. We were doing a Med cruise and it was hot, yet I would see him in France with a baby pink suit and a matching top hat.

We have unvaxxed in our party so we are only able to do RC tours.

Yes!  It was an amazing time!  The entire group saved over 100 turtles and we released them into the ocean.  There is a stop on the way back that was pretty cool.  Its a demonstration of the Mayans way of life and they have a Tequila tasting as well.  Just be ready to dig in the sand as deep as you can reach with your hands, those nests are pretty deep!

Pre-boarding or pre-entry anything Antigen testing is overkill based on actual risks but is an appropriate approach for businesses. If one wants to cruise, get used to it. It's going to around for a while and certainly through 2021. Options are available like don't go......if its not too late to cancel, that's an option. If your risk tolerance is low, buy trip insurance with cancel for any reason. No need to blame cruise lines for keeping their places of business as safe as possible for customers and employees.

I agree - more testing will make the cruise safer. I am the type that would rather be safe than sorry. It would be much more inconvenient to have your cruise end early due to COVID rather than being tested before. Especially because both vaccinated and nonvaccinated are getting the Delta variant, I don't see why there is a problem with everyone getting tested prior to boarding.

I think this is a great idea since it seems that the vaccinated are turning positive just as often as the unvaxxed (on cruises).  I also believe that everyone will eventually be required to provide insurance protection.  Royal cannot continue to fly everyone who tests positive home in a private jet !

Perfect, that is exactly what I was wondering about! Thank you so so much. Now I have to figure out how I can get my shopping in, might need to change some excursions lol.

I was wondering, has anybody been on a recent cruise and been unvaccinated? If so, how was the experience? We have an upcoming cruise and have paid our final payment. We have every intention of going on the cruise and are going to be unvaccinated. I was wondering, for those that were unvaccinated and on a recent sailing, how was it? Did you feel like you still got the cruise experience even though you were limited? I was wondering how the dining situation was in the MDR and how it was visiting ports. We plan to have excursions in every port except CocoCay.
*I do not want any judgement towards being unvaccinated and do not want this to turn into a vax debate*

I cruised last weekend vaccinated but with an unvaccinated member of our group and we also picked up another unvaccinated friend to hang out with while on board so I do have some experience.
In general the vaccinated/unvaccinated experience was pretty much the same.
Vax - had to bring our vaccine cards with us to show at check-in, Unvax - had to take a test a couple of days before the cruise and again at the terminal ; we went through the whole process as a group so no difference. Technically if we had ditched our unvax we could have been on board in 10 minutes instead of 45 since we wouldn't have had to wait for the test results but it was no big deal.
Outdoors - no masks required anywhere, any social distancing that was in place was in place for all passengers (they took out a lot of chairs but people moved them around based on their group sizes so outside of making the whole deck more open it really wasnt social distancing). The solarium area was designated for vaccinated only, i didnt see anyone checking at all but i suppose technically unvax were restricted to the main pool deck.
Indoors - most of the indoor area was "general population" meaning everyone could mingle so it was masks on for all passengers. There were a handful of bars/lounges/shows that were designated as vaccinated only but it was generally the minority and in the case of shows there was usually a "general population" one and then a vax only one at a different time so all could attend you just had to pay attention to which show time.
Ports - CocoCay was completely unrestricted. Nassau was Royal sponsored excursions required for unvax to leave the ship, so we just stayed on board.
In general the Vax/Unvax experience didnt seem very different, more minor inconveniences than a major deal and I did not see any sign of passengers "looking" to see if others were vax or not.
EDIT - Forgot restaurants - there were some areas of the MDR designated Vax only and others mixed group, I think Chops was all access but Izumi was Vax only. The pizza, snacks, buffet were all open access.

We may be doing opposite itineraries. Once we have plans more set in stone, I would be more than happy to share what we did and hotels we liked. Ours is Rome to Athens May/June so it may be a little too close in terms of hotels but leisure things to do, I would gladly share what we do.

I will never get a drink from the bionic bar, I'd rather talk with the bartender. I will never pay for specialty dining, I've already spent so much money on the cruise and there is already food included - why spend the extra money?

My favorite excursion I have ever been on was in Costa Maya. We did an ATV tour. It had stormed very hard prior to the excursion so the ground was all muddy. We were flying through puddles, hitting the riders (in our party) behind us with mud. By the end of the excursion, we were sore from laughing so hard and COVERED in mud (and most likely cow ?). It was so fun and funny, I still burst out laughing when we look back at the pictures. I am pretty sure we threw away all of those clothes too.
