This past Thanksgiving on Wonder was the first cruise in 10 cruises that we actually changed time zones when we went to St. Kitts. I have never in the past had any cruise ship have us change time zones in the past. So your mileage will certainly vary by what ship you are on.

Definitely a great location. You will not be able to hear anything from the elevators. There is a stairwell between you and the elevators.

Good morning, I am going on a Symphony cruise on December 10th. My wife cannot consume alcohol due to medical restrictions and they don't allow me to buy the package alone because she is in the same room as me, I have the medical certificate informing.
My wife and I are boarding a cruise this coming Sunday and she is pregnant. We are also Diamond members so she had no need to get the Royal Refreshment package. They allowed me to get a DBP and her to get nothing I just had to email the note from her Doctor and the call took probably like 40 minutes on the phone. It was an Actual note from the Doctor so not sure what you have but I hope that helps.

Had Mr. Paul Crow confirm for me just a few days ago that currently parking is $17 a day at Port Everglades. Still the best way to go in my opinion and will be doing it in 5 days!

Wonder doesn't start 7-night sailings until mid-January (she's doing 6- & 8-night sailings from now to that point)
I am on a 7 night for Thanksgiving. Maybe it starts 6/8 after that?

Just converted some points to onboard credit maybe last week and it showed up today in my cruise planner so I would say it was under 2 weeks.

Thanks! So then are they still able to do their own check-in even though everything came to your email?
So they will be able to do everything themselves when they download the app because they would be pulling the reservation in based on their name and their DOB and the reservation number. It doesn't ask for the email at all. If they already have a C&A number they can then add their C&A number to the reservation during check in or even I believe online when they are making cruise planner purchases.

I am pretty sure that you can just use your own email for the booking. They are not going to verify that it is his email. I am sure there are folks that book with no email as well. I book for my in-laws through my travel agent for all of their cruises and don't think that they ever get any notices. I just get sent copies of everything in one email.

I am with the 2 answers. I love being close to elevators/stairwell. From 6244 you can quickly pop down the stairs to the promenade with ease no need for the elevator!

The one day will be surf. You could use your one day, then her one day so she has 2 free days and then buy the package for the rest of the cruise. Or depending on the price, you could just buy it on CP. If I have to work, I am just buying the package beforehand, surf is often too slow to get any real work done. Plus, with a full Thanksgiving cruise they might be throttling the speeds extra.
Yeah I think you are right. I especially don’t want to go down to the internet desk mid week and have to deal with it.

I have been fooling with a similar problem for my upcoming Thanksgiving cruise. This will be our first D cruise so me and the wife each get a day of internet which she needs for work. I prefer to stay disconnected. Should we just wait till we board and use the 1 day we each have and then buy the rest of the days or just buy her the package and forget about it?

Seems the title was classic click bait so people would read the post. Strange axe to grind but everyone is entitled to their opinions. Other fun tags to get your post viewed next time "Royal Caribbean going out of Business" or "Coco Cay suffers the fate of Atlantis and sinks beneath the waves."

We have done the UDP on our last 3 cruises and love it. We have found that we had to go directly to Izumi to schedule for some reason because of the limited seating maybe they only allow access from the restaurant own computer I am not sure.
Enjoy!

My wonderful TA @Sharla did explain to me that if you find that what you paid for your room now exceeds what you can get a higher lever room for you can call and they will move up to the higher lever room if there are any available. My example is we booked an interior on Wonder to add someone last minute like a week before final payment date and the price was almost 3k and I figured oh the price could go down closer in but since we no longer can get it adjusted past final payment then if say an ocean view or a balcony goes under 3K before sailing that we could call and move the interior room to the higher category. So at least a reason I have still been watching the price since final payment.

My wife has them attached to the lanyard she uses for her SeaPass. Mine are in a drawer or three somewhere at home.
This is me exactly I have them stuck on my lanyard and they really are not noticeable at all. My wife has never opened or used hers I believe she left them on the ship. Definitely to each their own. We got to chatting with a Pinnacle guest in the pub last cruise and they can share some of the best stories of cruising back in the day.

We are going on our next cruise over Thanksgiving on Wonder and we are taking my brother in-law with us and it will be his first cruise. He is not the type that I can just recommend the boards and videos to him he wouldn't take the time to actually do it. As someone who has been on many cruises I feel the need to almost be his tour guide so that he has a good time but I also don't want to overwhelm him with too much stuff while we are on the cruise.
My question would be or recommendations I am looking for would be; What if anything do you do when you cruise with First-timers? Just go about your cruise like normal and let them figure it out on their own? Try and do a full tour of the ship on the first day and explain how food and certain things work? Tell him the cruise compass is his roadmap to success?
I appreciate anything that you all have done to make rookies have a better time!

I concur with everyone that has said it. I usually just have a backup set of documents printed and in my backpack for a worst case scenario.

Good morning fellow cruisers!!!! I apologize in advance if these questions have been asked before but I am new to RCCL and want to plan the ultimate trip.
I am eagerly waiting for RCCL to post sailing for Alaska in 2024, biting nails with anticipation!!!! It will be Hubby 50th birthday.
We are considering staying in the Junior Suite with Large Balcony. It is what we can afford due to many hospital bills. So here are my questions.. .
Is it a noisy location since it is so close to stairwell?
Which deck is the best? We are considering deck 9 or 10?
Can you request a table and chairs for the deck for room service?
Any other info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance... Happy Sailing.
So I figured I would take a crack at a few of these for you to get you started.
1.) I always prefer to be close to the Stairwells and Elevators because it shortens your walk time to and from the room and typically I have never had an issue with any sound bleed from the stairwell or elevators.
2.) Deck Choice is really for me always depends on where you think you will spend most of your time. I like to have the ability to walk down a few flights if the elevators are busy to get to the promenade or esplanade so I would typically go with 9. But if you think you will spend more time up at the pool then you may want 10 so you are only a few flights down to your room. I typically will go down the steps more often than I will go up the stairs.
3.) Your balcony will have 2 chairs and a small table on it.
Other than that just have a great time!

Does anyone wear their pin? I hear different perspectives on this. If I were a pinnacle (one day!), pretty sure I would wear it out of sheer joy! Gotta admit, I am pretty excited about my first Diamond cruise coming up.
Having received my Platinum and Emerald pins this past year I just stuck them on the lanyard that I use for my Seapass Card and that is about the extent of the use they get.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm definitely preparing myself for the crowds. How long was the Labor day cruise? Really looking forward to cruising and I hope we can make a yearly or semi annual thing. Fingers crossed!
Ours was a 6 night.

Yeah we sailed Odyssey over Labor day last year and I think she had 1400 people on her so it was definitely not the experience that you can expect when she is sailing at full capacity over the holiday. I am sure it will be a great time for sure.
Anyone else encountered bar drinks that are suspiciously weak tasting?

I just think that people dont realize how much food they are eating when they cruise and it takes people a lot longer to "feel" the drinks that they are having. Because if you look around the ship you can see plenty of people that are "feeling it" and I cant imagine that just those people have found the right bartenders. Additionally they add full ice to most of the drink as they are supposed to and that type of ice tends to melt a lot faster so you are drinking a lot more of the drink that is not alcohol as well each time. I would usually recommend folks go with Martinis if you are trying to get your fix.
