emmef reacted to BrianAlt in Parking Bayonne
You drop off your bags with the port staff. You drive your car about 150 yards to the parking garage and take a ticket. You park. You walk out of the garage and about 100 yards to the terminal. Couldn't be easier. If the garage is full, there is a lot across the street, same price.
After the cruise you put your ticket in a machine and pay $25x#days. You can either bring your bags to your car, or someone in the party can wait with the bags while someone else gets the car. Load up the car. Put the ticket in the machine on the way out. Drive home.

Wishing everyone here a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday. Especially those of you who are lucky enough to be on a cruise, but please spare us. We really don't want to hear about how great/wonderful/etc it was(😁). Just kidding, please post some photos if Royal did a turkey special, thanks. Best to all! 😎

emmef reacted to alamode123 in Go ahead, say “I told you so!”
I rebooked Coco Cay $89, soda package $6, photo package $129 and a few others for two upcoming cruises. Saved around $400 from what i already booked.

Where else can you go where all adults are vaccinated and everyone is tested in the final 2 days before boarding?

emmef got a reaction from Big Tule in RC's Black Friday sale
I am super excited about all of the Black Friday savings for my two upcoming sailings. I saved a bit on my Dec cruise on Harmony (cheaper Voom, soda package, water package and waterpark). But I made out like a BANDIT on my June Ovation sailing. I save about 200 after all the markdowns, and treated the family to the UDP with the savings and some onboard credit I had on that sailing.

Coco Beach Club restaurant is excellent. Good service, food and ambiance. I really like the appetizer box before my main meal. Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki…pita wedges, veggie sticks…delicious! Excellent menu!

Yes, the water on the ships is Reverse Osmosis filtered.

emmef reacted to barbeyg in Information : Parents Traveling with unvaccinated kids
Some people act like jerks on cruise ships (or any vacation) for a myriad of reasons, and this must just be their latest thing to go off about. Sorry for those of you who have had to encounter it, and I hope you shook it off and had a great time despite them. 🙂

I just upgraded my balcony stateroom to a Crown Loft Suite, as a solo cruiser! Am I crazy? It's on the Symphony of the Seas (Feb 5-12, 2022).

emmef reacted to CGTLH in Covid test - Walgreens
For US sailings yes, per: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-need-an-rt-pcr-test-before-i-cruise-where-should-i-go
More on Abbott Brand Tests
We get a lot of questions about Abbott tests, the most commonly available COVID-19 test brand. Here’s what’s accepted.
Any Abbott brand test administered on site by a pharmacy technician or other health professional is accepted. This includes the common Abbot ID NOW test administered by many pharmacies. The test provider must provide you with a proper results document (no handwritten notes).

emmef reacted to JasonOasis in Windjammer Self-serve? yea/nay?
I'm not a fan of self serve buffets, it was the one thing that really worked my nerves on cruise ships when people would just walk in the buffet while completely ignoring the crews request to wash their hands.
I hope Royal NEVER goes back to self serve buffets, I enjoyed having the crew serve me. I also noticed a lot less food being wasted as servers cleaned the tables after people were done eating. There were a lot more empty plates with no food remaining than I've ever seen on any cruise I've been on in the past. If Royal Caribbeans employee cost are the same in Windjammers as they were before the pandemic, then I think Royal should keep thing like they are now because they have to be saving at least 15%-30% in food cost on both breakfast and lunch, simply because they are not wasting tons of food over people eating with their eyes and not their stomach.

emmef reacted to barbeyg in Is it possible?
Only Pfizer is FDA approved for children under 12 right now. That could change, but for now, that is the option. Moderna and J&J are doing studies, but Pfizer is the only one currently available.

emmef reacted to Ampurp85 in Is it possible?
Welcome to the board.
Sorry but this has pretty much been a thing since the restart. Unless you child has been fully vaxxed at least 2 weeks by the time of sailing, they can only go on RCG sponsored excursions. In most cases this is a port requirement. Most ports only allow for vaxxed guest and want to curb their hazards as they don't have access to vaccinations like we do.

The Diamond drinks are very, very tempting. I say go for it. The "ultimate" sacrifice.
