I get my Covid 19 Vaccine on Wednesday. I feel cautiously optimistic about cruising starting up in the 2nd quarter of next year. At least a few ships at least. It looks like by April anybody in the general public should be able to receive the vaccine. Lets just keep our fingers crossed!

I am a Firefighter/EMT and I was notified by my county Health department by email. I had to register and fill out a health questionnaire. Once you complete that process they let me choose the time and date that I would like to get the Vaccine. The time frame only went out a few days because of the Holiday's so I choose my next day off which is tomorrow to get the Vaccine. I know plenty of others that have received it and so far no issues.

Twice in Nassau we booked excursions to Blue Lagoon Island - once just for a beach day and once with a Dolphin Swim. Both times we found the island to be super clean and well kept and the people working there friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the Dolphin Swim if it's something your family has interest in - we had a great time. On the beach day we reserved a 'half shell' shade with lounge chairs and I think it included a free drink per person. There seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs and space available for folks who didn't reserve a specific spot as well.

Better news and results that Pfizer right now...this one seems like it would be much easier to distribute as well based on the fact it doesn't need to be kept at extreme cold temps!

Thanks to "operation warp speed" it appears things may get better sooner than was reasonably expected.......cruising in fall 2021 will hopefully be a reality!

We did a self-guided walking tour in Nassau. I think we got it from Frommers. See the PDFs attached. It took us a leisurely couple of hours and we enjoyed it a lot.
The pics are the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle.

If you've never been, yes, I think it's worthwhile.
The key with Nassau is to make plans ahead of time. Wandering around tends to lead to frustration with what you can see.

lots of folks will say to skip this port but the few times I've gone I'd explored and had a great day. The first time we went to Atlantis, we got tickets direct from Atlantis' website, took a cab and beat the crowds and had a great day at the waterpark. The next time we got off and went to Junkanoo Beach, it was within walking distance and we just chilled for a couple hours and again had a great time. The first time years ago we went to the straw market and then I think Senior Frogs if memory serves (after Senior Frogs I may not remember right). The next time we go I plan to get a cab to one of the nice beaches (Doctors Beach? Cable beach? might be mixing up my islands) on our own and chill there for the day. I would also not be opposed to one of the Island Excursions- Pearl Island or Balmoral, etc off the ship.
If you haven't been I'd encourage you to get off the ship and decide yourself if it's worth it. We always have a great time where ever we go!

Allow the cruise industry to restart or keep it shuttered ........ a political decision? I think this is more likely to involve two different viewpoints both of them with supporting data behind them. One of them seriously flawed.
The CDC believes congregate settings, such as those present on cruise ships have a high enough risk of promoting viral spread and endangering the Public Health to be curtailed. The data is unambiguous. Congregate settings do promote viral spread. The administration believes that with mitigation measures present, such as those proposed by the Sail-Safe Panel, the risk is sufficiently lowered that the economic benefits of green-lighting the cruise industry outweigh the Public Health risks.  The economic harm to the cruise industry including every facet of supporting operations being rendered by the CDC's no sail order is also unambiguous. It is significant. I'd call it catastrophic when the entire supply chain for the cruise industry is considered.
Two sides both with fair points. The CDC has been wrong before in matters involving SARS-CoV-2. They are wrong again extending the no-sail order for the cruise industry
My personal view is that the CDC has, from the beginning of the pandemic in the US, over-stated the public health risks. That is not to say, by any means, that SARS-CoV-2 is harmless. It is not. It has the capacity to produce significant morbidity and mortality but the degree of it is highly age stratified allowing for targeted, specific containment measures instead of mass lock-downs. Moreover, and as our knowledge of the virus has increased, we have learned that simple mitigation measures that are layered are effective in controlling viral spread short of shuttering the economy and immobilizing citizens. Meanwhile, the protection of vulnerable populations has improved along with improved patient management when this cohort does become infected and requires hospitalization.
During the entire pandemic, it is only now, 6 months down the road, that governments at the national level and local levels are realizing that the continued curtailment of social and economic activity is not sustainable. Cost/Risk/Benefit analysis is taking shape globally. Countries are recognizing that lock-down were counterproductive at the start and now continue to be more useless in controlling viral spread. Not only is this approach not sustainable but it also has already created previously unfathomable social and economic hardships that having nothing to do with the health related issues involving COVID-19.
To sum it up, the damage done implementing many aspects of the CDC's approach to disease control has been enormous with little benefit to the public health. Keeping the cruise industry shuttered is just another example of bad policy with huge objectifiable downsides and few objectifiable benefits.

Positive cases are an inevitability. The key is did the system catch these cases as planned, and is the system working to isolate and treat the affected without the rest of the ship becoming exposed.
It's too early right at this moment to know the answers (from what I can see), but if the system is working as intended, then this isn't a big deal.
