    Hello,
My husband and I went on the excursion two weeks ago. It was one of the best excursions we have been on. The excursion is new to Royal Caribbean. It used to be exclusive to Carnival, but they hope to continue servicing Royal Caribbean. They limit the amount of people on the excursion to avoid overcrowding. They only service Carnival and Royal Caribbean and it is not open to the public.  When we arrived only seven people were there from a different ship and they left an hour before our group had to leave. Our group only had 13 people so 20 people at one time. However, it felt my husband and I were the only ones there.
It is spread out and it gave everybody the opportunity to have their private space. We were so spread out that I could not hear anybody's conversation. They have day beds and beach chair loungers. It is ocean front, but you will need to go down a ladder to get into the ocean. You will also need to wear a life jacket because it is deep water. If you zoom in on my pictures you can see the ladder.
All of the drinks and food are included. They have a free presentation of a Mayan style hot sauce with chips to try. The have a separate Tequila bar to try the different flavors. They have samples of Mayan chocolate. They provided chips and Pico de Gallo before lunch. You can watch the chef prepare your food. The food is gourmet style and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the chili relleno and I ordered the chicken mole.
They have indoor bathrooms that are clean and nice, a pool, and hassle free, no pressure area to shop. My husband purchased an item from the store and we purchased chocolate.

Been awhile since I've been around, but I wanted to share some thoughts.
In October of last year I took a spur of the moment (get away from real life) last minute cruise on my own.  Was a three night simple trip on Independence, only plans were for an inside cabin room and the deluxe beverage package, no excursions were planned or other frills.  And I wanted to come here and say that I LOVED every moment of this trip!  It was liberating and exactly what I needed to get away from some stress.
I had more fun on this trip than the six nighter that I just went on that July when I was with someone.  I got to meet so many more people, have a bunch of fun and random conversations with strangers, ALL of them friendly and having a great time.  I'm not the most outgoing person and this was still very easy to do.
While sharing a trip with someone and making memories is a great thing, I did enjoy my time alone not having to worry about what another person wanted to do.  The only time it felt a little odd was when it was time to eat, but even then, if you wanted to strike up a conversation in the main dining room, or at a place like Playmakers, it was super easy.
So if you are on the fence about traveling alone on a cruise, be brave and go for it!  You only live once, so why not be adventurous

Sign out of your RC account and then put this URL in the browser replacing the XX with the ship code for your ship and the YYYYMMDD with the sailing date
    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/account/cruise-planner/category/onboardactivities?bookingId=0000000&shipCode=XX&sailDate=YYYYMMDD
Then you can see the CP for that sailing.

I went last week and enjoyed it. I recommend the dragon fly zipline. I have been to perfect day twice and labadee once. It's a beautiful beach and relaxing. I'm not sure why it gets so many bad reviews. In my opinion both of the islands are small and similar. Perfect day has a small water park.

I'm going on my third cruise in March with Royal but I must admit Carnival has my eye wandering. However, I hear it's more of a party cruise which is not my style. I'm tempted to go on carnival just for their rollercoaster and to try Shaq and Guy's food. For those who have gone is it worth it?

Michelle at MEI was first my travel agent for Adventures by Disney trips, then Disney and Universal and non theme park trips, before I finally started cruising. She always manages to put us in a better room than requested or expected. To me, the biggest perk is that she has gotten to know what’s important to us over the years, and takes that into consideration without me having to spell it out every booking. I just ask her to pick what she thinks is best, and then we all say How does she do it?

Never too old!!  I’m on 20 trips and counting.  It’s the one place I can just be me.  Took grandson #3 for a week in November 2020.  We had a blast.  Getting the itch again.  I go through withdrawal if I don’t see Mickey once a year and it’s not looking good cuz of the darn cruises this year.  Might have to grab a grandkid and sneak down soon.   And for OP:

We were on Symphony of the Seas the second week of March and we felt it. We always have our doctor prescribe the patch for us so it helped. I believe this month was an anomaly and not a good month. They had to cancel the Aqua Show several times our week and the previous week they did not perform because of the weather conditions. The director said it was the first time ever they experienced continuous weather conditions that prevented them from performing. They said we were going through 21 foot waves.

Hi @mamie!  Not from Charleston, but it is a favorite for my wife and I.  We LOVED the seafood at Fleet Landing restaurant. Then for dessert, the Peninsula Grill has the best coconut cake I have ever had.

Also, we stayed across the Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant and had a short commute to historic Charleston with much better hotel prices.

    Have a wonderful time!

As of two weeks ago I did not see any donuts at the boardwalk. Symphony has Johnny Rockets, dog house, and playmakers on the board walk but I believe all were closed for breakfast but donuts are not on the menu for said venues. The only one that could be open for breakfast is Johnny Rockets. I believe donuts are made available at other venues such as park cafe, windjammer and café promenade.

mamie got a reaction from CruisingOz in Hairspray delay restart explained
The cruise director said in a Q&A they are had to restart from scratch after COVID from production to performers etc. Those who own the rights to Hairspray have to give their approval on every aspect of the show before they can perform the show. They have all the performers and are rehearsing but are waiting for approval and they don't have a time frame of when they will get approval. The cruise director said it is a difficult and long process to get approved.

That is what our TA said too, he’s been onboard Symphony these last two sailings. It’s a very long play anyway, and there’s so much more to do on the ship. But it is unfortunate that people who cruise very little to miss out. We will be there in a month, so we shall see where it stands then. I know they need to get their money’s worth all these things, but I’m ready for some new shows 😊
