  1. Debarkation, which means for most, vacation over until next time.
  2. I'm kind of feeling the same way about my current travel agent I have with this automotive association I pay for each year here in America. This is the third agent the local office has had in the last 2 years. The first agent was great, helped me out bigtime on my Oasis of the Seas cruise, but left for health reasons. The second was also good, but also left, why I do not know. But now this current one, I have to stay on top of in order to hear back from. I booked my Harmony of the Seas cruise on my own in April and wanted it transferred to them. Managed to get a hold of this new travel agent and gave the info. Didn't hear back from anyone after 10 days, emailed the agent and got an apology saying that they didn't start the transfer process yet, but started it that day. Granted the office was closed in April due to you know what and everyone there was working from home and probably very busy so I'll give them that one. My latest cruise for April, 2022 I also booked myself (it was the end result of a lift & shift that I did all on my own). Made an appointment last month (the office was by then re-opened) and went there to see the travel agent in person to ask a few questions pertaining to my other cruises and give them the new cruise to take over. Over 2 weeks later and I have not heard from anyone again. Emailed them this past Tuesday to ask WTF (no I didn't say or write that, but you know what I mean ?), and still have not heard back from them. I'm going to have to visit the office again next week (this time I'm gonna just show up) to find out what's up unless of course I hear back from them. Don't these travel agents get the credit even for cruises they didn't actually book themselves, but were booked by their clients then transferred? This particular travel agency is one of the services this association offers that I'm paying for out of my yearly membership, and I've been a member since I started driving way before the turn of the century. If they don't want to be bothered getting paid to wait on hold with Royal (or emailing them) to do a transfer then just say it. I'll be disappointed, but keep my membership for I use them for other things, and then I'll try another travel agent who may actually care about their clients.
  3. If you get a covid antibody test and the results are positive that you have the antibodies for covid and you can't remember the last time you even coughed, then you are one of the vast majority of the population who had it, beat it and didn't know it.
  4. Hmmmmm social distancing. If that means less people in the Schooner Bar during music trivia, then hell yea. Less people means better odds for me to win those coveted Royal Caribbean key chains & highlighters ?
  5. Usually no. But they could try and see if you could get a room upgrade for what you paid.
  6. Perhaps they'll start with the ones lucky enough to score the $18.00 deluxe beverage package ? like me ?. Happy Fourth of July ???
  7. If they are indeed looking into reducing the number of passengers they should stop accepting new reservations on cruises sailing September 15 thru lets say the rest of the year for starters. That's a good thought with the carrot dangling. Perhaps something somewhat similar when airlines want to bump someone because they over sold the flight. Make some kind of great offer to see who volunteers. If enough want to get "bumped" to a different cruise somewhere down the line to satisfy Royal then great. If not then maybe a little more of a "push" or slightly pressure people to re-schedule (you know like emails every day, possibly calls too). If not enough volunteer after that, then they'll force cancel people based on ????? with proper extra compensation of course.
  8. I haven't been on a casino cruise in years, mainly because I can't breathe in there after about 1 minute. But if Victory no longer allows smoking while indoors in their casino, I may have to look into going on one of those again. Hopefully when RCCL resumes cruising here in September, there will be no smoking in their casinos as well.
  9. From what I heard last, there are several vaccines in development and testing phases and they are very promising. Also because of the current promising results, the manufactures are making 10's of millions of their vaccines now in the hopes of once given the green light (perhaps early fall) they can be distributed right away instead of waiting till the green light, then making them, and us having to wait longer to get them.
  10. I did a lift & shift last week on my own. The first invoice I got was what the new cruise would actually cost as if I were to book it new. I was told it would take 2 days before the correct lifted & shifted rate would show up which is what happened.
  11. If you've been to Nassau before and don't' want to sight see again, try resort for a day. They offer resort day passes for several popular resorts in Nassau. Some are all inclusive while others just give meal vouchers. There are also adults only resorts as well. As for the straw market, yes that's not too far from the pier at all. But be prepared and watch your surroundings. I've never had a problem walking thru it, probably because I was videotaping with my camcorder all the way thru. If you do want a great tour of Nassau may I suggest Marvelous tours. They offer several different types of tours via air conditioned van and/or boat.
  12. So true. With the cruise I have booked for April, 2021 that I want to Lift & Shift to April, 2022 , for my original reservation when I booked it last month, it was believe it or not $4.00 to make it non-refundable. Of course I did it. The first re-price I did on it a week later the non-refundable cost went up to $20.00. I took it again for it would still save me $34.00 on the cruise. Now with this weeks sales re-price the non-refundable cost went up to $35.00. Once again I took it, for it will still save me $85.00 off the first re-price. I do believe my November, 2021 cruise on Harmony of the Seas had to be booked NRD in order to get the crazy low price I paid for it.
  13. Exactly, I'll call if it's even $10.00 off. Whatever I can save, I will. With the new sale this week, I called Royal up and saved an additional $85.00 on the cruise I booked for April, 2021 that I want to lift & shift to April, 2022. This is the 2nd time it's gone down since my original booking last month. Hope it goes down again before the end of next month when I'll L&S it ?
  14. I do mind smoking/vaping in the casinos. However I may not mind wearing a mask, especially at the blackjack table. Because it always seems to be the dealers up card is a 10 and when he or she turns over their hole card, that always seems to be a 10. If I'm wearing a mask, I could then curse under my breath and no one will know. But the body language...……..I'll have to work on that?
  15. Not to start an argument with a chosen few, but I for one would like to see (and smell) no smoking and no vaping in the casinos.
  16. I'm holding off lifting and shifting till the end of July in the hopes of the cruise I currently have booked (April, 2021) will go down in price. It had already done it once and I called up and had it re-priced. If it does again I'll have it re-priced again. Once I do the actual L&S for the April, 2022 cruise I want to be on, I won't be able to re-price, and the price for that 2022 cruise is allot more then the 2021 cruise which makes the lift & shift very appealing. It's basically Murphy's law now for me. If I L&S now the price will go down on that 2021 cruise before August 1 and I won't be able to do anything about it. If I wait till the end of July the price won't change at all?
  17. It was posted here before and on other RCCL fan pages. You can do Lift & Shift on 2021 cruises thru April, 2022. It all depends on which RCCL agent is spoken too. I have a cruise I booked myself for April, 2021 that I want to L&S to April, 2022. I have not done it yet in the hopes of the April, 2021 cruise going down in price again (it did it once) before the end of next month when I'll ask for the L&S. For what it's worth I also booked this one with a refundable deposit (it was only $20.00 more) for if in the unlikely event I can't get an agent to L&S it, I'll just cancel the cruise and get the $500.00 deposit back...………..eventually.
  18. Not everyone knows about him and his agenda unfortunatly. As if I didn't know already, couldn't he just be banned from this site? Or will he (most likely) just come back under a different name.
  19. I believe that person usually posts on Saturdays or Sundays and probably won't post now that someone has beaten him to the punch with this all important story
  20. Funny thing I heard about that flu was, (not to make this political, but) for the most part, it was never reported on the news. The Vietnam war was the big newsmaker back then.
  21. If they plan on sailing with reduced capacity when they start up in August, I sure hope they are not currently selling any more rooms on those cruises. If ships that are sailing during those first few weeks were sold out and need to be reduced passenger wise, who gets to cruise, and who gets the boot?
  22. I keep checking to see if the prices go down, then adjust as needed.
  23. I have to admit on the days when all of the different cakes are displayed, they simply look fantastic. I always take pictures and/or film them. But is it me, or has anyone else noticed that those awesome looking cakes look better then they taste.
  24. I've watched the feeding frenzy that is the big T-shirt (and whatever else we need to get rid of) sales from the comfort of my promenade view room window on several cruises now. I've compared it to the black Friday sales at your local (insert whatever kind of department like store you have here).
